To see what other features this software has, besides "cleaning," I had it scan for the 100 largest files. Just noticed that dozens, perhaps hundreds, of files had their access dates changed from this scan -- including small Word files that I haven't changed in decades. Uninstalling. No other "cleaner" software I've looked at does this, and if it does this random change, who knows what else it does?

Freeing up drive space by deleting unused temp and cache files is fine if you are tight on disk space, but there are only very rare instances where it will actually make the computer faster. On their website, this is the primary claim. I don't get why companies who make these products keep making it.

Two things:
1: When you select the box No Internet activation message: "If you cannot establish an internet connection, please contact our support via email to obtain code to activate WashAndGo......" !?
2. In the section Backup option: Never Delete is missing or not thought off.
With my "1:" remark: I Always try new programs offline first. Why? I learned my lesson(s) from the past. Even though, I make a clone of my harddrive(s) first. It is good to be "paranoid"/PTSD at times ;-)

I have multiple hard drives and I don't see an option to select anything but the default drive. Does anyone know how to select different drives?

Might be useful for removing downloaded installer from developers that build installers that are really downloaders and launch platforms for much bigger files left in users %TEMP% folder after installation and even after uninstallation of the program by official uninstaller. Cannot currently test it for two reasons one I've manually cleaned up the computer such litterbugs were installed on and two I don't have a compatible windows platform I want to pollute with abelssofts activation system. And the claim "- Test winner: Finds up to 8x more junk data than the competition." makes me wary that it is finding and deleting stuff that windows automatically re-creates next run time which is just increasing the total number of erase/write cycles on SSD drives for no actual benefit.

I tried the Deep Scan and all Google Chrome shortcuts and settings were gone. Restore just makes a file and doesn't automatically restore anything. Win 11 System Restore is now plodding thru and hopefully fixes it.

In advertising emails, Abelssoft blared around that WashAndGo finds more rubbish than any other program of this type. But what Abelssoft thinks it finds more of is not rubbish. These are files that are still needed so that devices and programs can continue to function. If you try Abelssoft WashAndGo, you may not immediately notice the damage that is being done. Instead of improving something in the system, it damages it. In my test, for example, the scanner that was working perfectly before stopped working immediately afterwards.
But the top thing is that WashAndGo also pretends that it can offer a recovery of the deleted data. Anyone who tries this will be stunned to find that this pathetic stuff then hangs. When exiting, the helpless message appears that the program can no longer return the deleted data to the original location.
But it gets even worse: The program suggests saving the data chaos of the jumbled-up files locally somewhere on the computer. From there, the user can then copy the files back himself. Are you still okay, you Abelssoft guys? You wouldn't be able to do something like this in several years either, because nobody can know where the original location of thousands of deleted files was!
You can use a maintenance program to maintain your computer. Ashampoo WinOptimizer fulfills this task perfectly until its version 25.

I thought Wash & Go was an existing POP Email screener/cleaner?

Ian, as pointed out in the description, it already exists for over 20 years, back in the days more for the German market. I remember when it looked completely different than now.

Ian, I've got 'Mail Washer Pro' which does that. Maybe that is what you are thinking about?

Ian, Google seems to think it's a hair shampoo...Ablessoft also have different product called wash N' go https://wash-n-go.en.softonic.com/ apparently last updated in 2013 that softonic.com CLAIM is Free... that seems to be a precursor to this.. Unwilling to try it as I prefer to do the necessary cleaning myself and not trust some unknown 3rd party developers opinion on what really NEEDS to be cleaned. 99% of the time cleaning never makes any improvement to system performance anyway. Only really helps if a cache folder gets out of control and contains literally millions of files that NTFS just cannot maintain and access efficiently.
