Vov Sticky Notes 9.8 was available as a giveaway on December 31, 2025!
For many people, the desktop is simply the place where shortcuts and icons are located, without any real functionality. Nonetheless, you can benefit from all the empty space on your desktop by adding post-its, and Vov Sticky Notes is one of the apps that can help you do that.
Once you install it on your PC, the application automatically goes to the system tray, and you can right-click its icon when you want to create a new note. It basically opens a resizable window where you can paste text or start typing some of your important tasks. In addition to text, you can paste images and screenshots from clipboard. You can also drag and drop image files.
Another handy function of Vov Sticky Notes is that you can create reminders to be displayed on a regular basis. You only need to choose the frequency interval, and then enter an appropriate message.
Features:
- High-DPI support.
- Offline storage.
- Themes.
- Multiple monitor support.

Junoe, there's nothing to activate. By now you've passed the giveaway time so I'd suggest going to the website at Vovsoft.com. For everybody, I have decided to keep this one as it's just basic enough to be useful and not a nag or anything. So I like it for replacing paper notes to myself scattered all over. Unlike paper, you can make multiple notes on one instance and so it's easier for me to keep my to-do lists organized. And as I said before, you can shrink the window to a size that you like.

After testing here's what I say about this program. It makes a little window about the size of a normal Post-It but can be resized if you don't like the default size. Clicking on the smaller size doesn't make it go big again. I would like that as a feature if possible. It would be even better if I could minimize it to the taskbar because I find a clean desktop less distracting. All the controls are on each note. You can change the background color if you don't like the default bright yellow color. There's a fake "pin" that toggles stay on top or allow other apps to cover it. A "new" button generates a new note so be careful with that one or you'll have a whole tribe of notes before you realize it. Luckily it's got a delete button so you can easily get rid of your note (or any unwanted extras) after you are done with it. The default on Windows 11 is to put an icon in the popup Window on the status bar so you can generate a new note that way as well as from wherever you installed the shortcut in your start menu.

Just one more thing: The notes come back after you reboot, so until you delete them, they will stick for you.

After investigating, I have decided definitely this is better than Microsoft One Note. You don't get nagged to install MS Office 365 if you try the modern version, and you don't get your notes turning into pumpkins on Jan. 1, 2026 if you try to install the Windows 10 version (it becomes "read only" then).

Microsoft One Note includes a lot of garbage about Microsoft Office. If you want a stand alone version, get the one for Windows 10 and hang on to it.

I don't know. Would be nice to have something that would synchronize stickies to my Android tablet.

I’m using Simple Sticky Notes
the app is free, and I’m not sure Vov Sticky Notes 9.8 is any better than Simple Sticky Notes.

How does it compare with Microsoft Sticky Notes, which is included for free in Windows?
Microsoft's can also sync across devices if you sign in with a Microsoft account.

neksoft, I've not used the Microsoft ones, but I've been using Vov for about a year. You can back them up, move them around. I honestly would be lost without them all over my 4 screens. So much easier than scribbling on bits of paper and losing the bits of paper!

neksoft, You can make a comparison with anything. You could, for example, use a rock as a hammer. Bult what's your point?
