Every day we offer FREE licensed software you’d have to buy otherwise.
Vov Sticky Notes 5.1 was available as a giveaway on October 25, 2019!
For many people, the desktop is simply the place where shortcuts and icons are located, without any real functionality. Nonetheless, you can benefit from all the empty space on your desktop by adding post-its, and Vov Sticky Notes is one of the apps that can help you do that.
Once you install it on your PC, the application automatically goes to the system tray, and you can right-click its icon when you want to create a new note. It basically opens a resizable window where you can paste text or start typing some of your important tasks.
Another handy function of Vov Sticky Notes is that you can create reminders to be displayed on a regular basis. You only need to choose the frequency interval, and then enter an appropriate message.
Windows 10/ 8.1/ 8/ 7/ Vista/ XP

CHROME is advising (indicating) the program is a DANGEROUS DOWNLOAD !!

J S, That is probably because this developer uses a self signed digital certificate to sign their executables and installers rather than pay a legitimate certified organisation to sign their companies digital certificate so without google installing the "Vovsoft CA" root certificate as a certifying Authoritiy which is a massive security risk for any 3rd party to do the programs signed with Vovsofts self signed digital certificate cannot be verified for integrity or origin. Hence it is dangerous as it could be infected by a third party and the binary changed from a clean build OR the devleoper is inviting end users to do something dangerous in order to check the integrity of the file by requiring them to install an unsafe uncertifed root Certificate Authority which could be used for spoofing SSL certificates that are descendants of the bogus CA root certifcate but say Microsoft in the company name or Barclays PLC or the cortificates used by DWP or other official body where you may want to submit critical identity documents that could then be intercepted by a man in the middle attack. It is how nations that mandate access to even their citizens secure web traffic by mandating that all internet users have to have their governments root Certifying Authority pre-installed into their systems and every web browsers certificate store.
Simply Right click on ANY of Vovsoft installers or executables and select Properties then select the Digital Signature Tab and then from the Signatures list should be a single signature Vovsoft click the "Details" button and it will open the signature details panel and have text similar under the bold text "Digital Signature Information"
stating: "The certificate in the signature cannot be verified."
Now press the button "View Certificate" and the new screen should report something along the lines of "Windows does not have enough information to verify this certificate"
And look down further you will see it was issued to: Vovsoft and issued by: Vovsoft CA
Then finally check the "Certificate Path" Tab and that panel should report that the "Issuer of this certificate could not be found" because the issuing bodys certificate was fake and never certifed by any recognised certifying authority. When you are done dismiss all the panels with their "x" buttons or the OK buttons. Maybe GAOTD can have a word with VOVSOFT and TELL them to use legitimate Digital Certificates to sign their programs OR remove the spoofed Digital Signatures and DO NOT use the on any future giveaway as it is deceptive and serves no good function apart from exposing the developer as an untrustworthy software source!
One would hope that GAOTD take their role as gatekeeper seriously and stop allowing deliberatly deceptive developers to push their dubious and potentially unsafe software on their website!

THANKS TO GAOTD AND VOV FOR THIS GIVEAWAY. I AM VERY PLEASED WITH IT , ESPECIALLY WITH THE REMINDERS FEATURE. THAT'S A GOD-SEND. I SET IN FRONT OF MY MONITOR FOR HOURS ON END, SO I SET A REMINDER TO EXERCISE A BIT EVERY 30 MINUTES.
ALSO, MANY THANKS TO ALL OF THE MEMBERS COMMENTING ON VOV. THEY ARE WHAT MAKES GAOTD SUCH A GOOD SITE TO BE A PART OF.
P.S. I'M NOT SHOUTING- I AM VISUALLY HANDICAPPED.

May be hard to find, but I've used Post-it Software Notes Lite for years. Easy to use and can change fonts, colors of each of your notes. I copied this from the "Purchase info" drop down from one of the notes:
"Visit our website at http://www.3m.com/psnotes to see all the Post-it® Software Notes products."
Despite that, I'm going to check this out due to the ability to have a Sticky pop up on a regular basis. Good luck!

I have already installed version 4.4 .
Can I install today's version over the older one ,
or do I have to uninstall the older version first ?
Save | Cancel
JEDIGEG, the easiest way to find out is just trying it out? It will either uninstall the previous version automatically or overwrites the previous installation. Either way, no damage done.

senzai6293,
"Either way, no damage done." __ NOT exactly my friend .
I have 8.658.625 reminders in version 4.4 . :-)
I will hate to lose them .
So I need to be sure that I won't lose them .
And the restore point way is a big hassle .

JEDIGEG, these are stored in the registry anyway and won't be deleted. You can install over the previous version, so i don't see a problem there.

There is an awesome, and in my opinion much better, free alternative to this program. It is called Stickies.

consuella, Thanks for information about this. Artur

My usual question, which GAOTD seems to always ignore, is how long is the license valid for? 6-months, 1 year? Tech support? Updates? This seems like a useful app, but I'm hesitant to try it if it has "short shelf life"! The other offering today does state the length/use of its app!

HellsBells, They don't really ignore it - you are likely looking in the wrong spot, probably the light blue rectangle top right (where one would rightfully expect it to be, I must agree). The wording used there, under 'Price', is standard with every offer - the "time-limited offer" does not refer to the lifespan of the licence or right to use, instead, it refers to the time period where it will be free to register it for use.
The lifespan of the license given away, will normally (should) be found in the program description text, to the immediate left of the lightblue rectangle.
If it doesn't state anything, it (should) refer to an unlimited lifespan, for a single user.
Normally, if the actual lifespan of the licence is limited, it will be stated there.

HellsBells, PS : Tech support & Updates are usually excluded. In fact, it's advised not to update any Giveaway, unless it specifically states otherwise - it will likely (not always) turn your installed Giveaway version into trialware.

Louis, ... or the free version, where applicable

Pretty good. The only things that I don't care for are not having the upper corner "x" to close the sticky, and I'd like to see the "delete" and "new" buttons smaller, or better yet, as a right-mouse selection. Handy app that seems to work well. I like that we can customize font size/type, background color, note size, etc. Thanks!

Hope2009, Correction : There is no 'upper corner "x" to close the sticky' - if you actually install and run the application, you would have seen it - you must've gotten that from GAOTD's own screenshots up here.

Hope2009, You say you can customise the font size etc. HOW?

Louis,
I guess you missed the "not" in my statement. I said "...NOT having the upper corner "x"..."
Which means that what I don't like is *not* having the "x" to close the sticky.

Thomas Lough,
I'm not at home any more, so I don't have the software installed. I think I had to click (or maybe right-click) the program icon running in the tray.
Save | Cancel
Thomas Lough, in the Taskbar, right-click the Sticky Notes Icon and select Settings..., in the top right corner is a button called "Change Text Font", the rest is pretty self-explanatory.
Save | Cancel
... not the taskbar, i meant systray. Haha, sorry bout that. ;)
Almost forgot, in the same window you can also change the background color for the stickies.
Save | Cancel
Thomas Lough, OK got it, you can change the system fonts. But I was looking for different setting per note. Never mind, better than nothing.
Save | Cancel
Thomas Lough, yeah that's not possible, sadly, would probably not be so hard to implement simple rightclick on the stickie and then select to change font or background color individually but well.
My first comment is under moderation but should pop up soon. :D

Thomas Lough,
Try Stickies as per #3. You can change the font, style, color and size per letter!
Save | Cancel
Thomas Lough, right click on systray icon and select settings , in settings windows there are buttons and slider to change font type/style/size/colour, background colour and slider for transparancy.

senzai6293, making each sticky uniquely customisable would require altering the fields that describe each sticky in its database of notes which would add to database size and complicate backward compatability with existing databases needing to be converted to new format when the new fature is implimented in an update so it would not be trivial and would have many points of potential failure to redesign it to impliment that. Of course it can be done and nothing about it is programtically new just it's not a trivial change of adding a method to a newly enabled context menu over a sticky edit form.
