Please read this guide if you are not sure how to register the software.
Step 1. Download Zip package from GOTD. Unzip the Package and run setup.exe to install the software.
Step 2. Run this software and a pop-up window will appear, which you can see the comparison between free trial and registered version. Meanwhile, just find and click the "Get Free License" button at the bottom-left corner.
If the "Get Free License" button doesn't appear, just directly click the link: https://www.vidmore.com/cooperation/gotd-video-converter/ to enter into the registration page for getting the free license code.
Step 3. You will be redirected to the registration page. Input your name and email address, then click the "Get Free License" button. An email will be sent to your email address automatically.
If you do not receive your license key after several hours, please check your spam or junk mail folder.
Step 4. Return to the software and copy and paste the received registration code under "Registration Code" and click "Activate" to activate the software. If you encounter an internet connection error when activating, please try using another internet connection.
Cannot find the original comparison window? Just can click the “Register” button (A lock image at the top) in the main interface of this software.

The "Metadata Editor" is treating an MP4 video like an MP3 audio file. The Genre setting has nothing to do with video.

Duane, if you're using the Internet with a firewall or accessing the Internet through proxy, a registration error might occur.

On the website it states that 'Intel® Quick Sync Video is available with 2th Gen Intel® Core™ processors and later' but when I attempt to enable it on 2nd/3rd or 4th Gen i7 machines a message pops up to say that it is not supported on any of the machines, so clearly there is an issue with the claims.

Yes, you could use this software to extract only the audio from video files.
You just need to chose the audio format such as MP3, WAV, M4A, etc. as the output format in the settings.
