I love this! Although I just got it the other day and wasn't able to get the whole version for free. That's ok, though, it's still a cool program!

#49 I'm running into the same thing with my mpg files as well. So far I'm ok when I try loading wmv files, but that's about it. I get the "Bad File Format" message as well. I checked the official support message boards on the vendor's site but didn't see anyone else mention the issue, so I haven't found any answers yet.

I am the novice of all novices on this stuff, but found a mistake I was making, that maybe some of the rest of you have also fallen into:
First, I am going straight to the mirror #1 site to download the zip file (as suggested by someone else, and save that on the desktop. Then I double click it to unzip. This brings up a block with three choices: Actvate, Readme and Install (if I'm remembering right). So I click on Activate and do the little things in small blocks (see how computer savvy I am!??). At the end of that, another big box opens on top of the first one with the same 3 choices. Here comes the important part -- move that box aside and go to the original box and click Install. That goes through a bunch of small boxes and at the end, your download opens -- ta da!! I don't know why the second big box appears, but you don't seem to need it - just move it aside and continue on with the one you started. Hope this may help some of the rest of us newbies - I just wish I could get back the three days of stuff that timed-out, before I tried this idea... Maybe you guys would consider re-running those sites at some point, since a lot of people seem to be having trouble over the past few days... (any hope?) Anyway - thanks so much for this opportunity to download great stuff, for those of us with limited funds. It gives us the opportunity to save our money to buy some of the other programs they offer.

Photoshop is better, but then again, when was the last time the average user spent $800 for a program?

Paint.net and Gimp can do this too with lots of tweaking if I'm not mistaken... and their free...

Eh, well if you like activating something like this, then this is a good alternative.

The software on this site can only be loaded & activated the day it is offered. If you need to reload it after that you are just out of luck. Sorry!

Nice program GOTD and geovid. Thanks for all the free stuff!! To everyone else, I activate the program first. It installs as a full program and I've never had one problem with any of GOTD's programs or games. Thanks again GOTD and HAPPY NEW YEAR TO ALL!

Hi 37 & 44, I agree. Having played around with this for a short while I believe it's not worth its retail price, or at least not for me.
Suggestion for this column: I would highly recommend that everyone try out the software before rating it and leaving comments. This would result in more useful feedback for our wonderful benefactors, GOTD, and their contributing partners (the software providers).
If we automatically give the thumbs up for an application based purely on its description and/or price, and the app turns out to be awful/useless/defective/whatever, we'll probably just get more of the same. Besides, then you can add 'software tester' to your resume ;)

so.. im installing this software now. if i save it and somewhere down the road format my computer, does that mean i cant install the software again?

So if I have to run that activate.exe, and it'll only work before the end of this day's deal, what happens if I have to reload this machine or I want to move it to a new one? Am I hosed or is there a way to recover whatever registration info it enters?

Seems pretty buggy to me. The program often, and without any warning, closes and vanishes when I'm in the middle of using it. It also brought up an exception error message (sorry, can't be more specific as I didn't make a note of the error message)... Nice concept though.

the only reason of unzipping failure is errors during downloading, probably due to heavy site load, so all we can recommend is to redownload the package, try our mirror site link.

I really appreciate all the free software. I've successfully downloaded and installed many of the programs. But today's program is giving me problems when I try to unzip the files. The message is "Some data in your zip file is damaged. CRC check failed." Have made several attempts to install and reinstall without success. This is also happening with Cubozoid. Any suggestions?
