VCF Editor 1.7 was available as a giveaway on June 28, 2025!
VCF Editor is a powerful, offline tool designed for managing and editing vCard files (VCF) on Windows. Running locally on the user’s computer, it ensures privacy and security by processing all data offline without the need for an internet connection. This makes it ideal for users who prioritize keeping their contact information private and secure.
This vCard editor software enables users to easily load, view, and edit key contact fields such as names, surnames, phone numbers, addresses, photo, and other personal details. Whether you're working with a single vCard or managing multiple files simultaneously, VCF Editor simplifies the process with its intuitive interface and efficient performance.
Users can edit contact information and save the updated data in either the VCF format for continued compatibility with contact management systems, or export it as CSV files for use in spreadsheets or databases. The ability to handle bulk editing makes it particularly useful for businesses or individuals with large contact directories.
One of its standout features is the ability to delete duplicate contacts, helping users clean up their contact lists effortlessly. By identifying and removing redundant entries, the software ensures your vCards remain tidy and efficient.
Since VCF Editor runs entirely on your local machine, there are no concerns about data being uploaded or shared online, providing complete control over sensitive information. Whether you’re updating a personal contact list or managing business contacts, this offline tool ensures your data stays secure and organized.

Is improving as version increments. I have reported a bug I found with the export to csv file dialog, by default it re-uses last used file open dialog value which is the VCF file one loaded but it does not force the file extension to either append .csv or replace .vcf with .csv the end result is it is possible if you are not careful to overwrite the original .vcf file with the exported CSV file by mistake. So until the fixed version is offered be aware and don't click yes to any warning you get without reading and understanding the ramifications of ignoring the warning! It does not parse every possible VCF version and implementation of old version 2.1 properly, but as I say it's getting better with each iteration.

TK, there is a problem with the use of CSV as export that spreadsheet program mutilate telephone numbers on reading them for example they drop leading zeros and can convert text telephone numbers into exponential notation both end up with unusable numbers that have to be manually fixed to be re-used. Edit copy and paste into other programs from a simple text editor that does not manipulate the data trying to be helpful! This is NOT a bug in the programming as CSV format is a data agnostic file type and has no way of preventing spreadsheet programs from imposing its default formatting upon numbers.

Could you use this to create your own address book, separate from any other application,

RWW, sadly no it cannot create a VCF file from nothing it is purely an editor at the moment but the developer does accept suggestions for his programs so download it and via the help menu give feedback, suggesting your needs :-)
