This may be too late get my comment in since it's 4 hours until the next giveaway but I am sure there is no surprise to anyone as to the reaction from this considering previous screensavers and this one's quality. Screensavers went from actually saving screens to being an entertaining alternative to a black screen when not using a computer. My young kids and my older parents enjoy them, especially seasonal ones. I look at them like I would lighting a candle when alone or having guests over. I am not one of the kool-aid drinking environmental extremists that thinks I am not being green by using screensavers.

YoWindow is a cool screensaver as mention by one commenter but my favorite is Dream Aquarium or one similar. The ones that look and sound just like an aquarium are still nice to see. I hope to see one of those here one day. actually, I would rather see them on game Giveaway of the Day's site when games aren't available though.

This one is really, really bad! I got it when it was offered on here last time, and I deleted it.

I usually love the astrogemini ss's, but I agree with the crowd: this one looks very primitive and boring - definitely not up to what I expect from astrogemini.

Very soothing, a really lovely orginal screen saver, what a change from fish, ships etc I like it. I am the only one with vision the rest of the world wears bifocals.

As usual I'm having problems with this screensaver. Pretty much the same problem as Linda @ 22. It creates an icon on the desktop when installing except that it's no good. "The item that this shortcut refers to has been...will no longer work properly" For some reason it always does that on both my Vista HP and Win 7 x64.

It installs fine and you can even see it in the Screen Saver Settings after installation. I check the settings and ALL screen savers are there but once you click Apply and OK, then nothing happens. If I reload the Screen Saver Settings then there's absolutely no screen savers there whatsoever. Where did they go??? Go figure.

If anyone has an answer to this problem it would be greatly appreciated and would help a lot for future downloads. It would also help other members with same or similar problems.

I can't say that I like or dislike since I haven't really seen it yet but will post later if I can resolve this issue.

BTW Mathew @ 10 - FYI Astro Gemini has never ever made or tried to make any changes to my browsers nor do I know anyone to whom it might have happened. Might be erroneous information you read and further more, one cannot believe everything put out there by who knows who and who knows why ^-^.

Have a nice day everyone:-)

Hi Wallax#29, thanks for pointing this out, I would hate to mention anything "unsavory" here, but most of these Screesavers/Wallpapers Sites unfortunately offer other utter rubbish, so ALWAYS caution!!
My ZoneAlarm and Symantec don't sleep either..:)

On the scale of things - 7Art is not as bad as nasty "freeze-com".., hope it doesn't highlight itself, lol, and in general has rather pleasant graphics, so often mentioned and compared to what's on Offer of that nature on GAOTD. Like today.
A lot of Screesaver Sites (or Wallpapers') don't have exclusive rights and offer the same for different price? (yes, today's Valentine's one included..)

I am not a massive fan of these Sites, but if I know of anything graphically "nice" - I try to share it.

It (being 7Art) didn't get me into any trouble in the past, but Folks must judge for themselves. Thanks anyway.

Still not sure the point of this. The sales pitch states "Saint Valentine’s Day is an excellent time to remind all the special people in your life that you love them and really care for them.". But it is on my computer, so how does it remind the special people in my life ...etc....

Hi, I forgot to add that you can also visit "sister site" of mentioned by me link in #14 by visiting http://clock-desktop.com/ where in addition most of these screensavers come also in shape of Live Wallpapers (LW) - It's easier to download them from there remembering (!!) to un-tick and decline everything offered when installing. You will get "7" on your Taskbar and can pause wallpaper at any time, try not to start with Windows (option when installing), as it's not necessary.

I know it all, because? - strangely enough:)) I went for.. Rainy Clock (also called "Sprinkle Clock") as LW this time to keep it when nostalgia kicks in, lol.

I enjoy screensavers although I don't use them as a rule, they are just nice to run once in a while for some pretty pictures. In this case, installation was fine on both Windows 7 Pro and XP sp 3, but there are far more interesting pieces of eye candy out there than this.

When I installed GOTD's Gemini Christmas screen saver, it "broke" the ability of my computer to hibernate with out physically putting the computer into hibernate. From the moment I installed the gemini screen saver, my computer would no longer auto hibernate. I figured it would return to normal after unistalling, but it didn't. Now I'm stuck with a power hungry computer that is always on.

I've tried several "fixes" none have worked. I would appreciate any advice if anyone else has had this problem. Windows 7 32 bit

Installed fine on a Windows 7 machine.....

I usually love Astrogemini screen savers. Astrogemini is probably the best in the business. If I were looking for a screensaver, I would go there first..... however ...., this one is just a little too creepy for guys. As said above this screensaver is a little naked 3D cupid up in the clouds playing with his bow and arrow....
flying hearts .... maybe.....
a couple sitting on a park bench ..... OK .....
This one is definitely not for guys :-)

Because someone had to give out a whiners-alert, here my reason why I whine about this.
I don't whine because it's a screensaver. I whine about the screensaver being suckish. 20 years ago there was Johnny Castaway. Everyone, no matter what age or gender could watch that screensaver for hours. The little guy would try to get off the island in many ways. On special occasions(like valentines day, eastern, christmas and plenty of other events) there would be little easter eggs/gags. And now, 20 years later, we watch 3D without glasses, movies are entirely shot in front of a green screen, but screensavers come as dull as a picture? Since screensavers almost lost their use, they have to offer something more, we don't need another 3D render, we need something that can entertain us and surprise us.

And that's why I whine about todays giveaway.

Before installing, I usually like to see a preview. I realize it is a screensaver, but it could be produced as a short flv or avi for demonstration purposes.
Hope the vendor will do that, so we can see how it looks.
Cheers mates!

While I appreciate Astro Gemini's participation in GOTD, this is one of their less appealing offerings. They offered it last year and have made no improvements. It's basically Cupid flying around shooting arrows at hearts that then provide a quote about love. Maybe it would be more appealing if the graphics were better rendered or more interesting; as is, it's just a nice thought. No problems with download, installation or performance.

JohnnyG, no, it's not just you. Kudos for behaving like an adult when you don't want the give away on a particular day. Very wise and less stress!

I've seen many site reviews on the web that note that their software often makes unsolicited changes to web browsers. I did not download this program to test it since I am not interested in screen savers, but I thought that I would report the responses and reviews that I did note with everyone here so that they could investigate this piece of software as well.

Whiner Alert today!
Todays GOTD is not the newest, fully licensed version of Photoshop, so that obviously means that nobody would possibly enjoy a free Valentine's Day screensaver, not now, not ever! The freeloaders will be a whinin' today. Luckily, this gives them plenty of extra time to code, compile, debug, beta-test and provide a most excellent program to GOTD tomorrow, complete with multiple awesome skins, 24/7 user support, an awesome web page with every possible bit of knowledge included and all for free! ;-)

I still have some old monitors to my older PCs, but I never use screensavers as they use too much CPU and GPU power. I use those PCs for different kind of tasks, so an extra program isn´t welcome on those PCs ! The build-in screensaver is only used to turn off the monitors when there is no need for them.

I have always loved Astro Gemini screen savers, but lately they seem to lack imagination. This one has got to be the worst yet. The angel pulling his bow without arrows, looks like an old 1950's comic. It doesn't even look 3D.
Yesterday, Desktop Paints gave away their animated screen saver creator, which allows you to create your own screen saver. Even without the extension pack you can make a better one than Astro Gemini did.
