Hi..

This is a brief description of the USB Safe Guard erection.
I hope this helps you.

** Usage **
1. Install "USB Safe Guard" in Windows. (Windows 7 or later)
2. Use this program to change the general USB to secure USB.
** Structure of Secure USB **
2-1. Assuming a general USB capacity of 16 GB
2-2. Create a Security partition with a size of 16 GB excluding 5 MB.
mean :: 5 MB => Normal partition
16GB - 5MB => secure partition
2-3. Now the USB consists of a normal Partition and Security Partitions.
2-4. Security Partition is not visible in programs such as explorer.
2-5. "USB Safe Guard" copies the launcher program (USBMain.exe) to a regular partition.
2-6. The generated secure USB can be run on Windows XP or later.
2-7. Files saved in the security partition are encrypted with AES256.

3. How to run secure USB
   3-1. Insert USB into PC.
3-2, Now only partitions with 5MB areas are displayed in the Explorer.
   3-3. Run USBMain.exe here.
3-4. USBMain.exe temporarily installs drivers and so on to make the security partition visible in Explorer.
3-5. When a secure partition is activated, the user can save files and so on here, which are encrypted.
3-6. To exit Secure USB, select 'Exit Secure USB' from the Tray menu.
3-7. The security partition will disappear after unloading the driver etc.

If you have any questions, please let me know..

The program after registration and a password shows a Windows error message, once that is ignored with a click the next screen says the program is registered, but only for 30 uses.

Next, it continues showing the program is loading and one has to use the Task Manager to stop it.

I have not received a registration key by email. The app says only a limited number of licences, does that mean you ran out of licences before the offer ends :-(

Requested a key at the URL listed in the readme.txt file, closed Firefox, checked for new mail, & got the email with the key, so the GOTD is definitely not dead, at 12:55 Eastern anyway. The email was sent from giveawayoftheday[.]com, which is definitely blocked by some email service spam filters -- I had to change the address I used when requesting a GOTD download a while back because of that.

USB Safe Guard isn't a bad app, but I decided with the online component it was a bit of overkill for my purposes. I still use a [now ancient] GOTD, Gilisoft USB Encryption, from 2010 I believe, &/or a portable instance of Veracrypt on a USB stick. [ gilisoft[.]com/product-usb-stick-encryption.htm & veracrypt[.]fr/en/Home.html ]

Since there were comments re: uninstall...
Installing USB Safe Guard adds C/C++ runtimes from Microsoft, in both the Common Files & System32 folders [check for updates], which along with .NET entries make up most of the new entries added to Windows registry. You get an uninstall key: HKLM\ SOFTWARE\ Microsoft\Windows\ CurrentVersion\ Uninstall\ MyID-USB Safe Guard_is1 -- the program's key: HKLM\ SOFTWARE\ xSecuritas\ USB Safe Guard -- & a services key [a service is added to Windows]: HKLM\ SYSTEM\ CurrentControlSet\ services\ FM-File Access Service x86 .

Along with the Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 x86 Redistributable - 10.0.30319, installing USB Safe Guard adds the program's folder: USB Safe Guard -- Start Menu shortcut: C:\ProgramData\ Microsoft\ Windows\ Start Menu\ Programs\ USB Safe Guard -- logs: C:\ ProgramData\ xSecuritas -- Desktop shortcut: C:\Users\ Public\ Desktop\ USB Safe Guard.lnk -- and besides the C++ runtime files, these are added to Windows\ System32\ : CryptStr.dll, FIntCom.dll, FIntServ.exe.

Personally I normally leave the C/C++ runtimes installed if I can't avoid installing them in the 1st place, though they are listed in the Windows program uninstall lists if you want to give it a try.

Secure USB can be used without "Internet connection".
This is optional when creating a secure USB.
The default option is to use secure USB without Internet connection.

The purpose of using "Internet connection" is as follows:
- After passing the secure USB to another person (customer, etc.)
- Only allow use secure USB until expire date/count
or to receive the usage log via email.

I tried to install this software on Win 10 Pro 64.
I was not able to complete the setup, I am sure that I messed with the registration part.
When I tried to start it, it said "Initializing" and "Please wait a moment", but then nothing happened.
The first time I was able to remove it.
Then I tried again to install it, same issue, but this time I was no longer able to remove it.
So, please, send me too the instractions to remove it.
Thank You and regards

xSecuritas, maybe instead of asking users to provide their emails addresses publicly here, and you posting their mailbox names, you could provide your address for people to contact you at their discretion?

I find it odd and slightly worrisome that a company selling privacy and security products is so publicly unconcerned about customers' contact info. Especially one so new out of the gate and obviously eager to build a client base and a reputation.

I use my USB drives for everything every day (at least 30 times accessed per day), so this software will make my USB drive useless after few days of use, why bother with this experiment, I may lose all of my files on it, if not backed up every day. It may be good for temporary sending the USB drive to someone by mail, but other than that, useless.

Nlightnj,
This error occurs when a 64-bit program calls a 32-bit dll or calls a 64-bit dll in a 32-bit program in an x64 environment.
By the way, "USB Safe Guard" is all 32 bit configuration. (exe or dll files are 32 bit).
Therefore, we need to investigate why this problem occurred, but it is difficult to identify the problem in a non-reproducible environment. (Becayse, the problem may be somewhere other than "USB Safe Guard".)

When you buy a new USB thumb drive, for example, from Sandisk or Sony or other brands. They already come bundled with excellent Security Lock Software, that is for you to use forever. There is no license expiration date.
Which you can choose to use or not to use.
Thus this giveaway software is merely an extra.
The correct term to use is "installation" instead of "erection. I hope this helps you". Thought they were going to recommend Viagra.

Neil, It consists of products that can make 2, 5, 10, 20 security USB. (This can be found on the Shop page of xSecuritas site.)

The version supplied by GOTD is a product that can make up to 5 security USB.
The created secure USB can be used without any restrictions.

Although this product is genuine, there is a limit to the number of USB that can be made secure. Up to five GOTD versions can be used to create secure USB.

says on the web site, that it can be used 100 times, than the USB is no longer unusable??? what does that mean? that the USB stick will be unusable for anything else.

Expiration date USB usage is prohibited after the specified expiration date.
Expiration count After using the specified number of times, USB usage is prohibited.

"says on the web site, that it can be used 100 times, than the USB is no longer unusable???"
==> Secure USB created in the trial version can only be used up to 100 times. Of course, this USB can be changed to normal USB.

This version (Genuine) does not have this limitation.
Thanks

Use AXCrypt of FlashCrypt for free to encrypt files and folders!

There is also USBSecurity which runs on the USB drive and very quickly secures everything.

Not really a great GOTD as, having registered you find:

"caution: This secure USB is available 30 times when creating a secure USB as a evaluation version.
After that, you can not use USB, please backup the data before that."

so rather pointless really, just a marketing exercise so will be uninstalling!
