UnHackMe was initially created as anti-rootkit software, but currently it has more features: scanning for "unwanted programs", checking for junk files, created by PUPs, scanning of Windows startup, services, drivers, testing Windows shortcuts, scanning for rootkits, testing the host files and DNS settings, testing all used files on Virustotal. It insists on installing Network Shield, then it comes up in the scan. Otherwise good for the most part, except for a few false positives. It finds HP apps to be a problem. I really do't blame them for that.

Couldn't find any way to turn it off. Had to uninstall it to turn it off. This is annoying.
It took forever to do a scan (which is surprising considering how fast my system is) and only found 3 things (3 torrent programs which are almost certainly minus malware)... suggesting my existing programs are doing a good job? The fact that it didn't come up with a whole heap of false positives is actually a good sign.
I would have preferred to leave UnHackMe on to evaluate it further but wanted the ability to turn it off when required. The fact that it uninstalled easily is a positive.

GOTD offer UnHackMe on black Friday last year, with a suite of other programs. I like this software! It's well worth installing. After it scans it gives a you a choice of what to do with a file. There was a number of files I marked as a false positive and they never showed up again in my scans. I also have it tied to my host file, that I update regularly. Thanks to GOTD and UnHackMe for the offering.

Why does the EULA in the installer omit the following paragraph from the EULA on the web ? Does it mean that you might "share, sell or lease" data from users of this giveaway?
"Greatis Software will never share, sell or lease this data to third parties or use it for any other purpose than making our services better for our users. I most likely don't have to say this - BUT
Just a note to be very aware of what this program wants to remove - research before hitting the "Remove Checked" button. The scan wanted to remove my IOBit Malware Fighter along with my Adblocker and some other applications that I use, including my desktop link to my network drives.

I have ESET Internet Security and Malwarebyte Premium running side by side on my laptop.
Does anyone know if it makes sense to adds UnHackMe to these two excellent programs? Will UnHackMe that will run side by side with the two capable of bringing additional capabilities and cover additional computer security aspects that the two don't cover?
I know this is a private case and situation of mine but I'm quite sure that most members here at GAOTD already have other protection software on their machines and are therefore dealing with a similar dilemmas.

One of the very few giveaways that did not complicate the download and registration process. The scanning took quite a while and displayed "uTorrent" as Probably Suspicious. After the scanning and fixing process, upon rebooting, the bootup speed increased by a few seconds as displayed by "WiseCare 365", But soon, Kerish Doctor took over and identified a few malicious activities and quarantined them. A few more days of use, I am sure I will get a better hang on this software.

I see only the option "Scan and Fix", will this software then start to "fix" without prior asking or is it possible to scan for problems and decide what is a real problem and handle this accordingly?

Install & register ok. Initial scan takes 2x time of a malwarebytes one. Took hour. Seeing the RU Russian connection at site. Unsure about the license coverage pieces since the site's compare chart for Pro & Free suggests only Pro will offer "Malware Removal Assistance" whatever that is. Does that imply only Pro will remove a found malware? That would defeat whole purpose of the version. There's also some optional Shield thing which gets attached to hosts file. I checked it just to see results. Even if the following scans are much faster than first one to be keeper there's lot of false positives. Didn't find anything that's making me keep it. Thanks tho.

The license does not expire (lifetime).
It is only for non-commercial use and without free application upgrades.

A nice easy installation and registration. Once installed and registered let the software do it's scan which as expected took quite a while and did find find a small number of suspicious files. The good thing is that if you are unsure of what the suspicious file is you can look it up and check if it is harmful or a false positive. The screen is nice and clear, not cluttered with useless information and very easy to navigate. Going to trial this for a bit and might buy pro version. Nice one, and thanks.
