I compared Tuneskit Screen Recorder to ZD Soft, which is also offered here on GOTD. I recorded both on a PC that uses a screen resolution of 1980x1020, and set both to record the entire screen. I played a movie at full screen so that both would have the same data to record. Tuneskit created an mp4 file that is 3 to 4 times as large as the one created by ZD Soft. Using VLC Player's Tools menu for data on the two files, they are essentially identical. I next trimmed the start and ends so that both started at the exact same frame, and ended on the same frame, but that operation had very little effect on either for size. I also did the same crop on both, and likewise, the two were still drastically different (3 to 4 times) in file size. As for a visual comparison, both were very sharp, and looked fine on a 65" TV.

In conclusion, I don't see the value in such a large file if there is no significant advantage. I hope someone else can do the same test, and report their findings.

Nice screen recorder. I give it 7.5 out of 10. Reasons for lower marks are out of 3 recordings 1 stutters at 29.x Frames. The audio is not quite right. It has to do with the pitch (lower than original) and the rate of sampling. You cannot adjust audio quality or parameters. Relatively easy to use, good video quality, Able to record 1080 on one 4K tv used as a second monitor where the 2nd monitor is a laptop screen

DF, Clarification: primary monitor is 4k tv, secondary monitor is the laptop screen, recorded at 1920x1080

Reply   |   Comment by DF  –  4 years ago  –  Did you find this comment useful? yes | no (0)

DF, I was able to record both monitors playing different YT videos on the 4KTV and the screen of the laptop simultaneously, video quality is good but either because of memory issue or limits of the screen capture program the video is very choppy. The capability is there. In addition the resolution of the 4K TV is set at 1920x1080 but the resolution of the laptop is lower 1366x768 so there is a discrepancy in my setup which may impact performance of screen capture program

Quick, painless download and installation. After I entered my email address, it accepted the registration code from the Readme file without any problems, and the program shows that it was a successful registration. Thanks very much, GAOTD and TunesKit!

Installed this Tuneskit Screen Recorder and registered easily and quickly. No activation issues here.
There are some previous comments saying they are waiting for email of the registration key. Which is probably what you call Fake News (is it by competitors?). The key is already embedded in the download Zip file. There is no need to wait for any email to get the key.
Similar to Timic, I use ZDSoft Screen Recorder which is excellent.
Tuneskit Screen Recorder allows you to specify the output folder.
I have changed the few important hot keys in Tuneskit Screen Recorder to mirror what I have set for ZDSoft Screen Recorder.
Tested the video capture while viewing Mark Wiens Thai food video.
Output is in MP4 and video clarity it is excellent. Audio loud and clear and in sync.
Overall result : Excellent and easy to use.
Just a few marks below ZDSoft.

Too bad it does not support a 2 monitor setup. It can only record from the primary monitor, not the 2nd one.

I haven't tested all its recording quality settings yet. I am mainly interested in recording a 1280x720 window of a 1080p monitor and uploading it on YouTube with the exact same 720p quality as the capture.

It's an OK product. For more in depth recording options, try ZDSoft's Screen Recorder.

Here's a 20 sec capture of a 1280x720 window out of a 1920x1080 monitor, recorded in a WebM video format and uploaded to YouTube.

Not bad at all! It looks very close to the capture from the 1080p monitor, and YT does not complain that the uploaded video should have settings.

This is terribly disappointing! Not the software, which is awesome, but the companies themselves.

Giveawayoftheday gave this same exact program, Version 1.0.0 in 2017. Then Giveaway-Club-dot-com gave away this same software, absolutely identical, with Version Number 1.0.2 on May 31, 2018 using the same Registration Key under the company name JOYOSHARE.

Installing today's software, from Tuneskit has version number 1.0.1 but has a different Registration Key and is the same identical software as the above previous offerings from Joyoshare. The software has not been updated or changed in all this time.

The reason I feel cheated is that the previous offerings were lifetime versions. Today's offering will only work for 3 years. To add insult to injury, and the reason I feel cheated, is that by registering today's offering, the registration on the Joyoshare version has now reverted to unregistered!

This is unfair and unethical. Tuneskit should not have killed ANY software on my computer, especially their previous offering under a different company name!

If anyone out there has the Joyoshare labeled version of this same identical software, don't install today's offering because you will lose your identical software and today's offering will be dead in 3 years!

From the description, I can already tell that I will not install this software. I have several capture softwares (i.e. Ashampoo snap 9, Bytescout, Duck capturing, Pick pick, and most of all Fastone capture which is the one I go to for almost any kind of capture I want. Not only does it do screen recorder but it also captures screens (screen region, scrolling window, etc... you name it). It does not seem that today's offering captures screens, only records screens, so why would I install it?

OK, downloaded and installed, then registered without a hitch. Opened it and tried a few times to record something, but it would not record. I figure it is because I am not understanding how it works, even though it looks simple. Will be keeping it for now, and exploring it.

Still I experienced a problem, that I am not liking at all, and if I learn that this cannot be solved through something within the software, I will be uninstalling it ASAP. The problem is this; I could not exit the program after my initial test run. There is no icon or file menu with any exit feature apparent. So if someone here can help me with that, it will be most appreciated.

jipy, I'm going to assume you mean Ctrl+Alt+Super. The latter is also commonly called the Windows key, as that is the icon it has on it.

I will test this to see if it works. If you do not see another comment from me, it will mean this worked; in which you may consider yourself most appreciated.

Can't get past the registration. Tried entering my email address, and nothing for serial, tried nothing in both boxes, tried my email address and Giveawayoftheday as the serial, and tried Giveawayoftheday for both the email and the serial. Nothing worked. Also, I have not received an email with a serial #. The information on the registration box says a registration # will be sent after the order is complete. Of course, I didn't order anything. So, I am unsure how anyone else got it to work, but there is nothing intuitive that works, and no instructions appear to be available.

Four distractions already.

1 "Hightlight Cursor"
2. "Hightlight Clicks"

3.. The "Buy Now" and "Register" do not disappear after registration.

4. There is no way to turn off the Updates.

It's free but I wouldn't pay for it without some better development.

I installed it and registered it in the options panel. I noticed that the microphone is automatically turned on when it is running. There is a checkbox to exit the program, instead of just minimizing it. I would recommend exiting if you always have a microphone available, such as on a laptop or a portable device that can use it.

I have been using Tuneskit Video Cutter given away here. I haven't found one, free or paid, video cutter that's intuitive to use and far superior than it. The experience has enticed to test any softwares from Tuneskit.

Au contraire, I'd refrain myself from getting further disappointments with softwares from Dimo.

For the features that it offers, this is very good.

Super smooth capture, indicating a small footprint in RAM, which is also confirmed by use of a low power Intel Z8350 TV box.

A 3 year licence essentially shuts up the "I want it for life" mobs.

Lots of output formats to choose from, set your own keyboard shortcuts, record time option, add watermark if required.

All in all this is a good example of something that doesn't try and be something that it's not, focusing on it's prime functionality, delivering what you would hope to expect.

So it's a big thumbs up from me.

Below two links. The first mp4 is the first 1 min 55 sec of their own YouTube video, made with the giveaway. The second wmv is the first 2 min of the same source, made with FastStone Capture.

In both cases I did not tinker with any parameter.

I am used to FastStone Capture and have a paid-for licence. So I will stick with that.

Please tell us all, everything you can do with Tuneskit Screen Recorder 1.0.1 which normally you charge $29.95 for but you are now offering to GOT users a licence that expires in 3 years for that cannot be done using Open Broadcaster Software Studio which is free and has many more features.

What makes your recording program [The most advanced screen recording software?]

Reply   |   Comment by Shane Cory Potter  –  4 years ago  –  Did you find this comment useful? yes | no (-4)

Shane Cory Potter,

There's certainly nothing wrong with OBS, but it's more complicated -- I can imagine many people giving up just trying to find info on how to best use it -- and while it can record audio/video, its purpose in life is streaming. In contrast Tuneskit Screen Recorder may not be the most powerful, or the most advanced solution, but my guess is that 99% [if not 100%] of the people who try it can figure it out without glancing at any guides or documentation.

Reply   |   Comment by mike  –  4 years ago  –  Did you find this comment useful? yes | no (+17)

mike, I am not saying that your program is a one trick pony, for instance I believe you mentioned that you can export in many file types. OBS will not do this. I need to use another program to convert my files when needed.

But I can also do some pretty easy editing with those files afterwords and with nice transitions.

Yes I can see your point about the learning curve and still for those who do not mind doing the work there is a huge payoff at the end.

1 minute and 48 seconds of very fluid capture only 17 mb of data per the mp4 it recorded it too. It's fine, it's great, I'll take it! Reminds me of Camtasia with the way it operates, except it's free! Recorded audio from my blue-tooth headset which Camtasia does not do.
I have Windows 7, 64-bit operating system with 14 gb of ram and 3.4 gHz processor speed incase you are wondering my stats, but I am sure this recoder is built to run on far weaker computers. It's a very good recorder, A+!
