I got only one music file "converted", then never anything additional, tried 2 computers with fresh clean Windows 7, got "error 0x0".

Maybe Sven Abels will include Spotify someday in his excellent free [ YouTube Song Downloder ].

TuneMobie seems daunted by the task.

Has ANYONE gotten conversion of more tha one music file ... like a an entire playlist, as promised?

It Works, nevertheless it not mentioned anywhere that you need to install the software from spotify. This giveaway depends on that software(spotify) dll's that i did not see mentioned anywhere.
it is enough to download and install, no need to login.

Installed and registered OK, the help file is pretty clear about how to do this, so I guess the numerous comments on here asking how to do it means the help file was not read in some cases.

However, I made several attempts to download tracks and none were successful. I went through the process exactly as the help files state. The last time I left the software 'downloading' for +10 hours, just in case I wasn't giving it enough time! Throughout that time I had a spinning wheel stating that it was at 0%!

I noticed that Spotify was very sluggish when I had this converter running as well, much, much slower than I've ever seen Spotify work without the converter running as well.

Thanks for the offer but it strikes me that this software is no more than a 'beta' version. Nothing wrong with that, other software gets released on sites like this for free and the users are used as beta testers, but this converter does not seem ready to be released on that basis.

According to my test, the program doesn't work with Windows Store version of Spotify, if you are using this version of Spotify, you may encountered "failed to load the dynamic link library" problem.

Uninstall this and install the version from Spotify website, this may solve the problem. Hope it can help.

[ cboz1967 ],

In the upper right corner, there's a down-arrow [ v ] to the left of the [ _ ] minimize and [ x ] exit buttons.

Click the down-arrow [ v ], and it should show a menu including [ Register ].

Click [ Register ] and it should open a mini-window with a strip to paste the serial number from the GOTD text file in today's download.

After entering the serial number, and getting notice on screen that it is good, exit the program and restart it, and the "Trial" word in the title will be gone.

Another great giveaway! This installed and works perfectly! (win10) It is important to let the music converter launch its own instance of spotify (it does this automagically) and I'm guessing you probably need to have a premium subscription but I'm not sure as I have not tested it without. Still very valuable tool for reasons not needed to be mentioned.

So, I installed tunemobie apple music from november givewaway. It has never worked - not once - it just sits there forever, perhaps because my itunes collection is too large? However sidify giveway worked fine and never had a problem (except i upgrade computer and do not have it anymore because i don't know how to transfer..)

Today i installed my 2nd tunemobie program (spotify) and guess what, it doesn't work. Tunemobie, get your @*@# together please! These are both programs i would love to get for free, but would never pay based on the problems.

This GOTD turned out to be a failure for a lot of people and bad PR for TuneMobie

[ per ],

I'm guessing that iTunes was a ruse, and there's more to your challenge.

I recently updates all my Microsoft add-on -- Visual Basic, .net, Installer, and so on ... which also may be a ruse, but this program installed and worked immediately in Windows 7 Pro on an old PC, and I never expected it to work at all given the DLL errors everyone else is getting.

I dunno, update Windows and all Microsoft add-ons, and reboot, and try again?

Try the version form the TuneMobie web site?

According to http://www.tunemobie.com/spotify-music-converter/reference.html, iTunes is not necessary.
Spotify should be installed instead.

Well loaded fine for me and on windows 10 pro 64 bit Also converted fine for me. It's not hard to use once you understand the program took me all of 5 seconds.

open spotify ones it's loaded by TuneMobile

1. Right click on the song you want click on Share then Copy Song Link

2. Open TuneMobile and paste your link at the bottom were it says Spotify or Playlist Link

3. click add

4. A new window will come up highlight the song click add again

5. Final step to last window Click Convert at the top between Options & Stop

Give it a few seconds to start then on the right of the song you will see the percentage starting to work

Bingo like magic That wasn't hard was it Enjoy

Reply   |   Comment by lg  –  6 years ago  –  Did you find this comment useful? yes | no (-2)

lg, don't worry, it only captures the free stream in low quality with 128 kbps, yet it claims it can obtain Premium quality but even records the Spotify Free adverts that are injected into the free stream. Sounds very fishy to me making those claims bold at best. Spotify Premium does not have ads in the stream, that simple.

Working on my Windows 10 64-bit perfectly, but encountered 'Failed to load the Dynamic Link Library' problem on Windows 7 64-bit as well.

Contacted TuneMobie Support and the reply is "please allow some time for us to locate and fix the problem". There should be a new version a few days later, but the developer couldn't tell the exact time.

Anyway, the program is praiseworthy.

Still working for me on Win 10 x64. It doesn't actually rip directly from Spotify, it just captures the audio stream and converts that - one song i converted actually had an audio advert on the end.

That aside, the results are actually pretty good.

Reply   |   Comment by Steven  –  6 years ago  –  Did you find this comment useful? yes | no (+2)

Steven, there is literally no difference between recording it yourself or using this tool, ads in recording possible, low quality stream capture with only 128 kbps, Spotify Premium streams with 256 kpbs, twice the bitrate, even non-enthusiasts can hear the difference. It's convenient to just drag&drop, convert and be done but people should be aware that it's not the same as Spotify Premium. Similar to most Bandcamp or SoundCloud downloaders, lower quality.

Cool, so having this software allows the user to legally own as much music as they can fit on their hard drive, that they haven't paid for without flouting any copyright issues?! It's amazing that the music industry allow this.

Reply   |   Comment by Donald Trumpet  –  6 years ago  –  Did you find this comment useful? yes | no (-1)

Donald Trumpet, Spotify is well aware that there are such fetchers and recorders out there, the artists and studios are too. That is why there is Spotify Premium, there is no program that gives the same benefits. High quality streams (not just 128 kbps), no in-stream ads, offline-listening, unlimited skipping etc.

Reply   |   Comment by kui_  –  6 years ago  –  Did you find this comment useful? yes | no (-4)

.
SIDE TOPIC:

[ Donald Trumpet ],

Yup, recording off the Internet onto our hard drives is just like recording off the free public radio airwaves onto our cassette recorders years ago.

Remember when FM stations would play one entire album uninterrupted starting at midnight?

That was so folks could record it.

Same same.

It's called COPIES, not theft.

Theft is when you steal something form someone and then they cannot use it anymore because it's gone.

Copying is when you make more of the thing that they still can use, and now you can use it, too.

There are two types of folks recording free stuff:

1 - folks who were never going to buy anyway,

2 - folks who will buy because of the test-drive, and they want the added value of the packaging, pictures, and whatever else the artist delivers only in the pay version.

Oh, and it's 100% LEGAL to record anything that arrives in your home over the free public airwaves, Internet, cable, and then time-shift your playback and enjoyment of your own recorded copy.

Redistributing it would be the threshold where copyright law prohibitions apply.

But, hey, you can directly send the artist a check for whatever you think they are worth, if you feel you owe them something, no one is stopping you.
