Hi there,
The "problem"is iTunes 12.1.
Yesterday, Apple has released iTunes 12.1 version (http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1614), but TuneChef has not compatible with the latest version immediately, we need a few days to fix this. If you updated to 12.1, you can uninstall iTunes 12.1 and reinstall the old iTunes 12.0 version, also you can try TuneChef on another computer (installed the old iTunes 12.0.x version), this solution is better and easier so far.
>>How to downgrade iTunes 12.1.x to 12.0.x< "Add or Remove Programs"
1), iTunes
2), Apple Software Update
3), Bonjour
4), Apple Mobile Device Support
5), Apple Application Support (32-bit)
6), Apple Application Support (64-bit)
After that, you can install the Old iTunes, free download here:
Windows OS
32-bit: https://secure-appldnld.apple.com/iTunes12/031-08058.20141016.34epp/iTunesSetup.exe
64-bit: https://secure-appldnld.apple.com/iTunes12/031-08059.20141016.FrPFF/iTunes64Setup.exe
We are doing our best to solve this problem, thanks for your understand. If any questions or problems, please send a mail to support@tunechef.com.
Have a nice day!

David,
I don't know why my F'in comments weren't posted yesterday but I converted twice and only got audio, no video? Used an HD Movie purchase via iTunes. Audio is fine, just no video. Converted in 5 min but nothing.

So after having this bug me all day... Apparently ITunes just updated to a newest version today.... If you're using an older version of ITunes, then this program looks like it will work.... Anybody know how to uninstall the newest and install an older version of ITunes?

"You have to log in the iTunes Store(use your own Apple ID), and you must authorized this computer with this ID, then you can import these m4v files and convert them."
Deal breaker. I reluctantly have Quicktime on my PC, but no itunes or anything else. Program should be self-contained - I download a file, it converts it.
I will stick with the free WinX converter for M4V files.

Will this work with TIVO files?

Unable to install, Win8.1x64. Downloaded twice, thinking corrupt file, still no joy. Setup runs, get an activation confirmation popup (browser opens to GAotD 'congrats, you activated' page), then the program just vanishes. No evidence of it in Programs (x86) folder. Tried multiple times for each download, no installation. Went to homepage, downloaded the trial program, same behavior - starts installation, then just terminates.

Disappointed.... Cannot seem to make this work. Trying to convert an iTunes movie.... And yes, my PC is authorized.... Perhaps if someone else has gotten it to work, they could leave a better step-by-step description... Otherwise I wouldn't recommend this program as it does not seem to work...

Hi! I get the following error message when I try to launch TuneChef.
The procedure entry point GetLogicalProcessorInformation could not be located in the dynamic link library KERNEL32.dll.
I have Windows XP Home Edition with SP2. So, what am I missing to get the program to run?

good program today. if you want to keep this app you must go to preference an uncheck update every 7 days. if you don't you could lose this app via automatic update as Gaotd don't do updates, upgrades, support etc..

Am I wrong in assumming the .m4v file is a HD video file that can be output in 5.1 channels if you select the .ac3 audio codec. I also select 48000 Hz for the sample rate and 192 kpbs for the bitrate. Many of my converter convert to .m4v and these files are output to a high-end Marantz receiver using a fibre optic cable from my sound card. I then select a surround mode and the video plays on all 6 channels. You can't do that with a .MP4 file or any other file type that I know of, but I could be wrong.
I only had 4 .m4v video files on my computer.........can someone suggest a site where I might be able to download a DRM protected .m4v file.
Any help would be appreciated

Doesn't work for me, I got almost the same results as Steve - it *said* it was done but the output file is only 168KB and cannot be played. When I hit the "Convert" button TuneChef opens iTunes, resizes the iTunes window, switches the iTunes list display from "TV Shows" to "Movies," then the iTunes video player window (I think) flashes up for just a sec - and then iTunes closes and TuneChef says it's finished.
Only difference between me and Steve is that my log file only has the first line about iTunes version, no second line about an error!
Meh.

David,
Thank you for your reply. Unfortunately, I have made sure I am logged in to the iTunes store and my computer is authorized through iTunes via my Apple ID, but these 2 things have not fixed the problem.

David (and all),
A positive update. While I still cannot get TuneChef to convert an M4V file that contains an iTunes "TV Show," I do appear to have a conversion running for a "Movie!" I will test the converted movie once it's done (20 minutes, if TuneChef's estimate is accurate) and post the results!
Keep those fingers crossed!

Welp, that didn't work. When I set the "Audio" conversion option to "1: aac" TuneChef produced a 65MB mp4 file which contains an audio stream (in AAC format) but NO VIDEO STREAM AT ALL. And when I set the "Audio" option to "2: ac-3" I get a 384MB mp4 file which contains an AC3 audio stream - and again, no video stream at all.
Sorry...

Tested under Windows 8.1 Intel I7 processor. attempted with Apple files with a TV show and it failed, attempted converting songs one at a time, first one converted fine the second one crashed the program. 3rd song worked again, the 4th one crashed the program again. appears to be a alpha or beta version of this program, very unstable unreliable.

Doesn't seem to work. I tried to convert a film, iTunes opened and appeared to do nothing. About a minute later I got a message from TuneChef to say it had finished. When I checked the output folder, all I had was a log file:
[20150131-11:03:58..7588],iTunes version is 12.1.0.71,150
[20150131-11:04:41..6576],control itunes error.,237
Given that there is no technical support, this makes the program useless to me. I'm uninstalling and will unsubscribe when the inevitable marketing emails come my way.

OK I've just started testing this program and so far is seems pretty good. I tested it on a TV episode (House of Cards) which runs for around 50 minutes. It copied it at a 1:1 ratio (Which is what's promised) and the video quality was exactly what I expected. In terms of time it took about 3-5 minutes to copy the file which is really nothing to worry about. The only real downside I've found is that if I try and load multiple files to make a queue the program crashes, but really I don't mind just doing them 1 at a time if it means I can remove the DRM. For the price we're paying (Nada) and for what it does, it's really not that bad.

In preferemces it has a box for simultaneous files. It is set at a default of 1.

I have no way to test this, but I hope someone who does can give us some precision as to how long "little over a few seconds" might be.

Hmmm, legally remove DRM from apples M4V music files, I very much doubt that it will be legal???
Save | Cancel
DRM is added by to stop people from getting their digital music, movies, games, etc. by illegal means.
You may want to remove the DRM from your own copy of a music or movie file, and there is nothing wrong in this. There are legitimate reasons for doing so. For example, so that you can use the file on multiple devices that you own, or on multiple software platforms that you have the licence to use. This is legal.
Posting the DRM free content online for others to download is where you would run into legal issues.
If this software does what it says, there should be no problem.
