Tipard Studio, why does the information panel above claim Windows NT4.0/2000/XP/2003 in with the system requirements? The executables sonderangebot.exe and splashScreen.exe and Tipard PPT to Video Converter.exe all need a windows NT version 6.0 in order to even load the executables i.e. Vista or above!

After reading the comments here, I find that no answer has been provided for the following question:
How is this software better than the native PowerPoint Save As MP4? I would think this is a legitimate question that should have a good answer.

Powerpoint has a native SAVE AS function to MP4 and works quite well. Can you provide some differentiation between the capabilities of your product versus the built-in Powerpoint function?

Reply   |   Comment by Mark Harris  –  8 months ago  –  Did you find this comment useful? yes | no (+10)

Mark Harris, I can... only latest versions of MS powerpoint have SAVE AS MP4 other versions do not have it that makes this *type* of program potentially useful but not as a subscription based license for a giveaway.
In addition for you to author a video-DVD with current version of power point you'd have to use multiple lossy conversions, first to produce the inital MP4 video and then to get another program to lossily convert the MP4 video to an MP2 VOB and author any menus etc. Apparently this is supposed to do PPT to Video-DVD disc/iso without the extra lossy encoding step.
It apears to use code snippets from many different non-attributed open source poducts in its enc.exe e.g. VLC, Handbrake, FFMPEG, libFDK for starters so should be more than capable of producing several output containers with multiple possible video and audio codecs.
Does not run in a terminal service session under windows vista SP2+ patched to March 2020 no errors just no windows or alerts shown.

Does the regular license (not giveaway) requires an annual renewal?

Reply   |   Comment by Paul  –  8 months ago  –  Did you find this comment useful? yes | no (+2)

Paul, the 1 year license does require renewal for continued use but the lifetime license does not. If one is likely to need the facility in over a years time only a fool would buy the 1 year license as there is no mention of reduced renewal fee so one should expect to pay in excess of $50 per year for continued use of it instead of $67.15 presumably plus 20% VAT or similar one time fee ,if you declare you are an EU resident as they very rarely tell you the price quoted on the website is excluding VAT...

Hi Paul,

Our software has a one-year license and the lifetime license.
If you purchase the 1-year license, it requires renewal for the second year used, and you can free update the software once we release a new version during this year. If you purchase the lifetime license, you can use this product forever and enjoy free lifetime update.

What is the difference to the native PPT function "save as" -> "*.mp4" ??

Reply   |   Comment by Frank  –  8 months ago  –  Did you find this comment useful? yes | no (+8)

Frank,

Sounds like it expects that you already have PowerPoint installed to do that, no?

Reply   |   Comment by HMarx  –  8 months ago  –  Did you find this comment useful? yes | no (+3)

Frank, the native function just saves to *.mp4 files and that is it... no other formats or media types.

2 questions...

1) There is a reference to an annual licence. I conclude thay what we download and install from here won't work after a yesr unless we purchase a licence. Is that correct?

2) Does this software require power point to be installed on my computer for me to be able to use it?

Reply   |   Comment by Richard  –  8 months ago  –  Did you find this comment useful? yes | no (+14)

Hi Richard,
Below are the answers for you:
1) Yes, it would have some limitation.
The registration code will be invalid if you uninstall and install again, also it cannot update. And it can be used in a year.
If you want to purchase it in the future, we would like to provide a 50% discount for you to get it.
2) It doesn't require power point installed, here is a guide for you to learn more info: https://www.tipard.com/ppt-to-dvd-converter/guide.html

Tipard Studio,

In regards to your point #2 in your reply above ("It doesn't require power point installed"), on your own product reference page it states:

https://www.tipard.com/ppt-to-dvd-converter/references.html

"System Requirements

Supported OS: Windows 10, Windows 8, Windows 7

Processor: 1GHz Intel/AMD CPU or above

RAM: 1G RAM or more

PowerPoint: You need to install Microsoft Office PowerPoint on your computer"

What a lot of people seem to wonder about is what advantage this has over PowerPoint's own built-in "Save as" to MPEG-4 video (*.MP4), or to Windows Media Video (.WMV).

Perhaps the "advantage" might be the many other video file formats, ISO and DVD that can additionally be created by your product per that reference page?

@ Tipard Studio, Giveaway of the Day has some serious and intelligent users who provide genuine reviews that are designed to be helpful to the users and the developers - whether they are positive or negative reviews. It is unfortunate that your software was reviewed here by Arthur, who seems to be flippant, self-centered, and perhaps a tad bit nefarious. Or maybe he just learned or looked up the word "superfluous" and wanted an opportunity to impress people with his new vocabulary.

Nonetheless, you should do what most of the users of this site do - ignore him. Hopefully others will provide detailed and helpful reviews.

For my part, I don't have a need for your software or else I would install it, use it, provide a detailed and helpful review, and offer you thanks for the privilege of exchanging free commercial software for a value-infused review.
