Please follow the guide to register Tipard FixMP4:
Step 1. Download Zip package from GOTD.
Step 2. Unzip the Package and run setup.exe to install it.
Step 3. In the popup window, you will see a comparison window of the free trial version and the registered version. Click the "Register" button to enter the registration window. Then Click the “Get Free Registration Code” button to visit the registration page, where input your username and email address to receive an annual registration code for free.
Step 4. Back to the software, paste received registration code under “License Key” and then click the “Activate” button to register Tipard FixMP4 successfully.
Note: Check your Junk or Spam email if you have not received the email with free registration code for a long time.

Tipard does keep track of the IP addresses requesting keys to prevent one person from harvesting keys. If you need a 2nd key, or if something goes wrong as Rick reported, try using a VPN -- Proton has a free VPN, and one's built into Opera & Vivaldi browsers.
On first start a dialog pops up to enter the email address you used and the key you received. There's also a key icon on the title bar [to the left of the X that closes the app] which also brings up that popup.
Installation add the program's folder in Program Files (x86), a folder in ProgramData, a C:\Tipard Temp\ folder, and a folder in Users\ [UserName]\ AppData\ Local\. The registry gets a couple of class keys, a key for the app, and a key for uninstall.

I didn't get the Step #3 you listed as a comparison window. What popped up was a window asking for a corrupted file and the other side asked if you wanted to download a sample video. Therefore, was unable to register.

This is not correct, and cannot therefore register product.
