Tipard Studio, Thanks for this info. I had missed another similar product by failing to register it in time. So far it seems to be working well.

I had absolutely no problems downloading and installing DVD Cloner on a Win10 64 bit Laptop. Disclaimer: I don't run a lot of security software.
But I seldom have any problems when following this procedure. Download the GAOTD zip file, and make sure it is completely downloaded. Extract all. Read the readme fle and then run the setup file as administrator. Run the program, and enter registration data.

rich, I forgot to mention removing the check mark for auto updates. But, I am not sure what the license is, 12 months with updates, or lifetime with no updates?????? Also, the registration info for this program is already filled in, I just opened the activation and closed it and the program activated with no other entry on my part.

Hello, I check-out DVDs from the public library and if they are due back before I can finish watching them, I will try to copy them for my personal use to give me more time to promptly watch them and then promptly delete them. Can Tipard back up any of those DVDs that DVD shrink cannot? Thank you.,

Downloaded, installed, and registered okay on Win 10 Ent.

Will NOT recognize my DVD drive at all. Have tried multiple known good disks that work from other copier software and can be browsed using Windows Explorer.

Anyone else seeing this behavior?

Alright, I went to do the download and process through Chrome on my Win 7 PC and Chrome invalidated the process. It gave an error message claiming the site & file does not really exist (404 error). I am about to attempt the same process through Mozilla Firefox hoping it works.

This Tipard does not recognize the DVD in the drive despite choosing the drive. Error - There is no disk Yet another dvd ripper/cloner gets it right right away. With Tipard, I have to go to this pc, choose the drive, choose the folder then it recognizes it. But when you hit start, error - There is no disk or no writeable. You have to hit ignore to proceed. That doesn't seem right.

The version stated on this page "Tipard DVD Cloner 6.6.2" is most likely wrong. The installed program says it is version 6.2.22.

I can't believe it!
After unsuccessfully trying yesterday to install the GAOTD (WinUtilities) download, I'm having the same experience with today's offer, Tipard DVD Cloner! This time I tried the tip given yesterday (which appeared after I had already shut down my computer, and which apparently worked, yesterday) of downloading the trial version of the software from the developer's web site and then entering the registry details supplied by GAOTD. Great tip!

In today's case however, Tipard trial registration demands the email address used in the purchase order and, anyway, rejects the GAOTD register code.

Summary: I am using a 2017 i5, 16 GB, 480GB SSD 1TB PCSpecialist Win10 laptop. So I can hardly blame the hardware for my problems but have to accept that I have a configuration that, for some reason or other, doesn't always like either GAOTD's or the developer's download files , or vice versa.
Today, as always, I paused Kaspersky during the Tipard downloads and installation attempts. I deleted the download files, rebooted the computer and re-downloaded them before any new attempts were made. I made three tries before giving up.
Is it possible that, today, GAOTD or the developer will have some useful input to offer instead of other members (my thanks to all of them) having to spend their time trying to help?
From my point of view I will, of course, be grateful for any help from anyone.

Dear gringuk,
It seems that your anti-virus system is damaging the installation files. In this case, you may try the following workaround

Please, carefully follow these steps:

1) disable the anti-virus suite and restart the computer. You need to disable all the anti-virus systems if you have more than one installed. Make sure it won't start automatically upon the system boot.

2) download the program archive once again and extract the contents to a dedicated folder

3) Carefully follow the installation instructions in the readme.txt file.

There should be no problems with the installation. Make sure you switch your anti-virus back on after the installation. Please mind that all the files are checked for viruses beforehand, so you may rest assured, the installation is 100% safe.

Sorry for the inconvenience

Giveaway of the Day,
Thank you for your reply to my comments.
I have, again, done exactly what you say. In this particular case it is:
Remove (delete) the previously downloaded files and the unzipped files. Even delete the dedicated folder!
EXIT Kaspersky Total Security. Exit SpyBot S&D. Exit Windows Defender. Exit WinPatrol. Exit AdMuncher.
I then rebooted the computer, checked that the antiviruses, etc. were still not running (KTS had re-started on the reboot) and downloaded the files again.
The installation result is the same: Files are corrupted!

Dear gringuk,
In this case, you may try contacting the developer support team directly at support@tipard.com and ask them to provide you with an unprotected version of the installation file.

Sorry for the inconvenience.

I have copied important DVDs into hard drives through such softwares.

M. H., Yes! I get most of my video media directly but I sometimes get DVDs from the library and like to have a copy to watch whenever I want later on. I've made other miscellaneous DVD copies for myself and for others for various different reasons. I like cloning better and I have blank dual layer DVDs for larger files.
