I do like this program. It's simpler than Notepad++, which is my usual program, but is more feature/option rich than Notepad.
I am, however, having an issue changing the font option in Text Engine SynEdit. For some reason when I untick 'fixed-pitch fonts only' and change the font from Consolas to Verdana (or one of the other fonts) it still stays as Consolas. I've even tried editing and saving the settings.ini file with the same results. The settings.ini file shows the change but the program stubbornly reverts back. The text can change size or colour, but not font. Strangely, the menu font change to Verdana 14 worked perfectly - and is much appreciated - it's just the text font. It's perplexing. If there's some other way to make the option permanent in SynEdit I'd be happy to know it.
It *does* change when the Text Engine option is changed to Classic - I'm not savvy enough to know if it's a Classic Engine only option as I don't know what a text engine does. But for me, to change the text font go to Options and second item on the dropdown menu is Text Engine - click on Classic and the font type /size should now change permanently.
I love the dark mode and the option to change the font/background colour. I also really appreciate how easy it is to find and use the additional features such as macros, line tools and encryption, etc. The toolbar icons are adjustable and easy to recognise. The program can open multiple files in tabs and, if chosen, multi-instances of the program can be run at the same time. Very nice.
I am grateful to Vovsoft (who make quite a lot of really useful programs) for the easy download/registration and lifetime use licence. It's so nice not to have to jump through hoops or be offered trial/crippleware.

Program does not retain its activation. I had to try to register the program a number of times before the registration finally "took" before the message came back saying "activated". When I opened Text Edit Plus a few minutes later the program reported "trial". I went through the multiple tries to reregister the program again before it reported "activated". Later it lost the activated status again and I repeated the process again only to find myself in a loop of activated > Trial again and again.

Using this app three years now and going to it more and more versus the big guy you know who on my computer. Easy to learn tho problem no instruction manual from maker how to use its many features. Like it that app small in size consuming little space and loads fast. Trialed other softwares by this co and liked so much that went ahead and got their universal license in 2024 and they keep introducing new apps frequently.
