Not sure why but I couldn't install at all after 4 trys on an XP sp3 machine that had a decent burner, hopefully it won't be a long time before it's offered again and I'll actually be able to install then.
Just to note I've been getting GAOTD for a long time, and I never had the same problem.

Ugh...
Tried this on 2 XP machines as it seemed others had tried with success - on one machine it worked fine but this program hosed the other XP machine. After re-starting all i can get now is a black screen with a flashing cursor, even in safe mode. I realize that the requirements do not say to use with XP now i see why. Just thought i'd let everyone know that it can be a bad idea. Not certain how to get this unit back up and running...sigh

Tried to run the program after installing and getting a message like this : "TDMore DVD Copy shall be exited due to your CPU is lack of SSE2 support. You need install our patch program www. tdmore.com/download.TDMorePatch.exe to run TDMore DVD Copy smoothly. Click OK to download" When tried to go to the site you have mentioned, getting a message "404 not found". Please advise me what to be done next.
Thank you

The License Agreement says "When you first obtain a copy of the SOFTWARE, you are granted an evaluation period of not more than 30 days, after which time you must pay for the SOFTWARE according to the terms and prices discussed in the SOFTWARE's documentation, or you must remove the SOFTWARE from your system."
Whats with this?

Downloaded, installed, running a couple of disks through. It's working OK on commercial disks, but seems to take longer on homegrown disks I'm backing up.

The menu could be more intuitive, too. I'd be a lot happier if the options were up front and didn't require clicking through several options.

But not horrible so far.

Most software companies are intentionally unclear about 1-year license.
The matter is not clearly explained on their websites.
They do not want to turn off their potential customers.
They do not want to provide ammunition to their competitors who sell software without a 1-year license.

It is unrealistically hopeful and naive to assume that the 1-year license software will function perfectly as before, after expiration of the 1 year period.

The whole idea here is: MONEY.

Software companies use the 1-year license to generate never ending income streams. It is a way to grow extremely rich. Let me repeat that - extremely rich.

Usually the software is designed to become CRIPPLED after the 1 year period. So it is not as mild as not receiving updates.

For example:
Microsoft has a 1 year license for Microsoft Office 365 Home Premium.
After the subscription expires, the Office apps are in [read-only reduced functionality mode] where users will be able to view or print documents, but won't be able to create any new documents or edit existing documents. You pay to buy a new subscription to regain their full Office capabilities.

Adobe has a Creative Cloud on a MONTHLY payable basis.

I am waiting for a software company to introduce DAILY payable cloud based software licensing business model.

In reply to #29 John, Just click the setup.exe in the middle to start the install process. After installation, start the software, click on the dvd copy icon (the larger one), run DVD copy and activate the software with the account included in the readme. You may also see the license key in the software informer made by giveawayoftheday.

I think after 1 year, you should buy their license, or the software can only use some basic features.

Pile of crap software. 10 years too late. Tricks you into installing other software, you dont really want. This is the first series of DVD replication software that offers only the first piece, to purely just copy a straight DVD. NOTHING ELSE> You get all of the other tools, when you buy their software. You can only Copy to an .iso file. No other profiles supported in the Copy Software. No File copy, no iPhone or other file format profiles. you have to buy everything else. Bunch of Kid HAckers at play here...

@X_P Man As for DVD copy software, you may compare and try them for free first. Also, you may compare them all in different aspect, such as price, speed and disc support.

The following 3 apps is optional, Gray icon means it has not been downloaded and installed. The apps shall install themselves and get to work after you click on the icons. It's all up to your decisions.

@Power_Striker After a year, the software will continue to work but not support newly released discs.

For all installation problems: After download the Zip file, extract the files. Then, click setup.exe to start the installation process. After that, you may see the license in the pop-up box provided by giveaway of the day. You may also find the license in the read me part. Start the DVD Copy for GOTD, click DVD Copy icon and start the software. The APPS listed below is optional and displayed as gray icons. If you want to try them, just click on the icon to activate the download process.
If you have any problems in using the software, please contact our support team or post your problems on our facebook fan page, http://www.facebook.com/tdmoresoftware and we well make reply as soon as possible.

@29, John, you do not need to open setup.gcd. The instructions are: Download, Unzip all to a new folder. In the folder are 3 files. Run Setup.exe.
Setup.exe will find Setup.gcd and use it to do the install. That is why you must unsip to a new folder. Trying to run from inside the zip, for example, would not work because Setup.exe would not find setup.gcd.
There is a "readme.txt" file that explains how to register the software.

3) Continue to work AND continue to update?

Iv'e deleted my first try and reloaded the program with the same results...IT WILL NOT OPEN. I am running WindowsXP on a Dell Dimension 8300. Can you figure out what my problem is?

#1: "This being a new contributor to the GOTD Project, and having nothing to base the “1 year” statement on leaves me wondering…Does this mean that it will stop working after a year…or do you get upgrades for a year and it will continue to operate at the most recent version at the end of the year? Thanks."

#9: "So basically then, the license really serves no function except for those people who choose to be exceptionally moral and honest?"

#26: "For a new brand, the features are basic, the price is a little expensive, the interface is cool. Thanks for the giveaway campaign. But NOT WORTH for an upgrade."

DRM improves & evolves -- otherwise the 1st DVD copy software almost a decade ago would still be all that we ever needed. When you buy copy software like this you're buying the continued services of the company, so that backing up the DVD you buy a year from now will work just as well as the DVD you bought yesterday. After the license term expires you will likely not be able to backup the newest discs with the newest DRM, though it would be helpful if TDMore spelled out their policies in depth to give prospective customers more confidence.

#23: "When my grandchildren were smaller and less careful I regularly made backup copies of my DVD collection keeping the originals away from them. I do not need to do that now "

Stuff happens. I know I'm not immune to accidentally screwing stuff up, & I'm too poor to throw away $20 bills. :)

"In the past I always used DVDFab which is excellent. This, however, is on a par with Fab "

Hard to say... DVDFab has a lot more paid options, it's been around a long time, & it has a very good track record of handling every disc. OTOH it's impossible to say [without inside knowledge] how badly the recent court action against them will wind up hurting the company.

#25: "Have a feeling this software category will go the way of the Polaroid film camera and music cassette tapes. It sounds so….outdated. For past few years, I have not needed to copy any movie from one DVD to another DVD. Do people still do that? Nowadays people watch movies online Netflix, cable TV and on their hand phones or tablets."

No offense even hinted at, I'm always amused when I hear something along these lines. The selection of movies available for streaming may seem vast, but it is limited -- cable & satellite much more so. Cable, satellite, & on-line access all cost money, & all are subject to outages. While it's getting better, streaming has been reluctant to say the least, when it comes to captioning or subs. Streaming isn't available everywhere, & particularly until there are better pipes giving everyone better access & bandwidth, streaming quality is very often questionable. That's not to say that cable & satellite quality is anything to brag about -- the lower the bit rate the less it costs them for bandwidth, so you wind up even with HD using a lower bit rate than most DVDs, & it shows.

If you like & are satisfied with streaming, cool, but please leave those that aren't alone. ;)

#26: "This License will be governed by the laws of the state of South Carolina as they are applied to the agreements between South Carolina residents entered into and to be performed entirely within South Carolina. So one should presume that this company is located somewhere in South Carolina."

Very often the license will be copied from somewhere else, especially when it's a company located outside the US or EU. AFAIK no company has dared make DVD or Blu-Ray copy/backup software in the US or EU -- if you remember how big a company Real Audio used to be, they tried & couldn't get away with it, taking just a day or so before their software was ordered off the market by the courts.

@ No. 2 Karl,
A company without name & address. I have never heard of this company. Of course … This is something special!
TDMore, established in June, 2014, is a new professional DVD and Blu-ray copy and converter brand. TDMore rises in response to the rapid development of entertainment industry and the high requirement of DVD enthusiasts.
However, Reading the License Agreement, No. 8 Governing Law states: This License will be governed by the laws of the state of South Carolina as they are applied to the agreements between South Carolina residents entered into and to be performed entirely within South Carolina. So one should presume that this company is located somewhere in South Carolina.

When my grandchildren were smaller and less careful I regularly made backup copies of my DVD collection keeping the originals away from them. I do not need to do that now but I thought I would test drive this giveaway anyhow. In the past I always used DVDFab which is excellent. This, however, is on a par with Fab but as I do not need such a programme now I uninstalled it but I still give it a thumbs up. As for it only lasting for one year, what is wrong with that if after the year you find it indispensable then for goodness sake buy it. These companies are not charities.

Received error message from software "failed to connect to the internet, please check settings" etc, etc
Internet settings are fine, not blocked by firewall.

In Comment 6, TDMore Software has not explained clearly what it means about the One Year Licence.

The language is garbled. I suspect that the Licence is good for free up-dates for one year. After that, you might be so impressed by this software that you want to pay for the licence to continue receiving up-dates.

If after 12 months, you do not buy the licence, the software will continue to function at the level it achieves with the last of the up-dates during the initial 12 month period. The software will not be crippled at the end of the 12 month period if you don't buy a Licence.

Excellent tool today: can copy an entire DVD or just some parts of it, giving users the ability to customize their DVD contents the way they wish to. And it's also extremely fast to copy an entire DVD!

Online Tutorial on how to use it:
http://www.tdmore.com/dvd-copy/copy-dvd.html

The only CONS is the one-year license, of course!
But you should not forget the main goal on the basis of which this site was born a few years ago, namely to promote paid software by giving them FREE of charge for 24 hour only).

As BEST FREE ALTERNATIVES, I recommend these apps:

http://www.easy-data.no/eddr.html
http://www.softpedia.com/get/CD-DVD-Tools/CD-DVD-Images-Utils/BDlot-DVD-ISO-Master.shtml
http://www.dvdfab.cn/hd-decrypter.htm
http://www.dvdaux.com/overview.html
http://www.bluraytoavi.com/dvd-decrypter.html
http://www.softpedia.com/get/CD-DVD-Tools/CD-DVD-Rip-Other-Tools/DVD-Shrink.shtml (old "wheel" but stll working)

If your main goal is instead to rip your DVDs to other formats like AVI, MKV, WMV, MOV and VOB with the ability to customize your DVD movie before conversion, then look no further and download this brand-new FREE GEM (can also grab specific chapters of the movie from the DVD):

http://www.multipelife.com/free-dvdaid

See also:

Enjoy!! ^_^

@ xp-man,
I just installed this in "sandboxie" and from what i can tell it only installed itself. (after looking through my sandbox) I did notice the ever annoying "software informer" window pop up at the end. Could that have been what the "3 xtra programs" were. Got any names of the programs. I haven't dumped my box yet, always like seeing what sneakiness people are up to. I don't think this can circumvent any protection... didn't see it mentioned.
