Even though the app doesn't recognize Linux partitions/drives with the EXT4 filesystem, can they be safely cloned using the "Sector by sector clone" option, or is it better to skip it? I think that since the clone copies sector by sector, it should work—but I'm asking to be sure, because I have a dual-boot Windows and Linux setup on the disk.
Thanks for the giveaway.

First I never got the email link at my usual account. Then, when I finally got it installed, I never saw any pop-up window with the registration key to enter.

Merrick, If I remember rightly there is NO pop-up but a large orange rectangular button on the lower left of the window to activate it.

Cannot find any information on whether the cloning is fault tolerant when cloning a failing but operating drive to a fresh new drive... will the program skip the faulty sectors on both source and destination drives and continue or will it fail abysmally? I've asked on other giveaways of this today but no answers yet from a user that has a failing drive they need to clone or the developer/vendor.

I haven't checked out Tatasoft Disk Clone yet, but I think I can answer some of the questions posted in the comments.
"Can you clone an windows bitlocker ENCRYPTED drive?"
Cloning &/or image backup software copies the 1s and 0s stored on the hard disk without considering or looking at the files & folders that data represents, so it makes no difference if that data is encrypted or not.
"Do you have to input the software product keys for each software program you have on your drive. "
It depends... Some software combines the key with hardware-based data when you activate or register it, to prevent you from having &/or using multiple copies on more than one PC/laptop. If the data it uses includes some sort of hard disk ID, then changing the hard disk might deactivate the app.
"Can I create Windows To Go using Tatasoft Disk Clone?"
Yes, but there are potential caveats. Windows uses a boot loader that's stored on a FAT32 partition. That boot loader is run first -- it's what starts Windows -- and it can be a finicky POS. Copying the boot partition from a working copy of Windows to a USB drive/stick, or creating a new boot loader without running Windows setup may or may not work to boot Windows on the drive. When/if you use the popular Rufus app to create a Windows to go drive it notably does Not use Microsoft's official boot loader. Another potential problem is that when you install Windows it adds the necessary driver software to work with that laptop/PC. If/when you change that laptop's or PC's hardware, Windows will *try* to adapt, but it's not always successful, so when you try to run a cloned copy of Windows on a USB drive using another PC/laptop, it will usually, but Not Always work. [You have the same problem using a pure or fresh Windows to go drive created from an ISO after the first time you run it & drivers get installed.]
"I wouldn't advise filling up a 300GB system drive SSD with 250GB of data, That leaves you only 50GB +/- of space. You'll quickly wear out the cells and fill your SSD in no time."
"Does the program allow you to copy a 500 GB HDD (larger) system disk to a 300 GB SSD disk [data on the larger disk is 250 GB]?"
For best performance you generally do not want to use more that 50% of an SSD's total capacity. Google and you'll find that's a widely supported rule of thumb. That said, Windows 11 will run on or with 25GB of total disk space... a Windows 11 VM for example on a dynamically expanding VHD was compacted [all free space removed] to ~17GB after this month's updates. I have a cheap tablet with minimal storage space running Windows 11, and ~8GB of free space is enough for updates to install & work. How much space you need truly depends on how much crap you store and how many apps you install. As far as wear goes, most SSDs use some sort of wear leveling so that one part of the drive doesn't see all of the use and wear out first. The larger the amount of free space, the more any fresh writes to the SSD can be spread out, increasing the SSDs longevity since writing fresh data causes the most wear.

Thanks, everything is clear now.

I would not consider it if it is not in a from a of a bootable image, is it?
Also, you may check spelling on the site, it says: "Clone the system disk to an SSD without resintalling Windows and make it bootable;"

I tried to create a boot iso and got this error.
Creating WinPE ISO...
Failed to acquire WinPE wim from local system.
Creating WinPE ISO...
Failed to unmount WIM file. Please reboot your system and try again.
I then installed Win sdk and sdk WinPE addon. Rebooted and tried again. Got the same error.

Can you clone an windows bitlocker ENCRYPTED drive?
Do you have to input the software product keys for each software program you have on your drive. Such as the windows OS product key or MS Office product key or Adobe Acrobat Pro Product key for example?
Save | Cancel
Yes. 1.1 clone
Save | Cancel
SAM, regarding product keys that is very dependent upon the software product. IF the license is tied to hardware that includes the drives serial number then you'll likely need a new key, if you move the cloned drive to a different motherboard you will likely need a new key and activation. If the license is NOT tied to the hardware and is just a simple registry entry or file with the key in and no hardware signature hash is involved then that license should survive the cloning even to a different motherboard!
Can't answer regarding bitlocker encrypted drives as I have no experience with them, sorry.

Can I create Windows To Go using Tatasoft Disk Clone?

Jaheed, NO just a WinPE with a PE copy of the program IF you're lucky. It failed for me under Vista

Jaheed, most probably not. Any clone programs are designed to make an exact copy data, including how it is organised, NOT modifying/manipulating data/functionalities in a given system.
A cloning program is OS agnostic in its standalone form, so ``making an existing Windows Installation a portable one`` is not an option.

it helped alot the thought of a portable laying around...
