Couldn't install on XP SP3 laptop!

Now have les than 2 hours to go before expiry.

In general, love to be able to test around software for more than 30 days.

I sometimes do not get around to time limited trial soft way after it expires, and the one year test period is great so I can make up my mind to either buy or delete it!

However, since I have given up the best nights of my life to microsoft with blue screens of death, reformats and re-installing both the OS and my progs, I wil not go on to anything else than Linux!

Forget about vista, win 7, 8, 8.1, 8.2, 9 and whatever else... It usually has more bugs than new features that give me someting else than headaches!

So please, a little thought to us dinosaurs out there...

Thanks! & great work!

Robert

If you're looking for an alternative to this, I agree with previous posts that MusicBee is by far the best tagging tool (and library and player). And it's free. I've tagged thousands of albums using it and wouldn't trust anything else.

I've been using an old giveaway for ages - it's great for adding the cover art. My version doesn't seem able to renumber all the tracks across a directory which is a slight drawback so I also use 1stMP3 tag which has always been my number#1 choice due to its immense flexibility.

This is one of the better tagging programs, but in my view, not the best. So far I have not been able to find any extended or custom tags although it has a large list of standard tags it can view and edit.
It didn't find any artwork for the album I selected to test it with.
I mainly use 3 tagging programs, the best by far is "mp3tag". The other two I use the most are "AHD ID3 Tag editor" and "Kid3". And like Jahid #2 above, I use MusicBee, which in my view, is far better than Music Monkey and WinAmp as it has a built in mp3 ripper (lame) which is customisable among many other goodies.
I give this giveaway 7/10.

The German MP3Tag just can't be beaten for simplicity and ease of use

Plenty of anonymous cowards ready to click the thumbs down once again. I decided to give it a go myself, and it actually works quite well. And it plays FLAC audio. Sure Media Monkey does more, but this it's also more complicated to use.

I use mp3Tag. It is free and user friendly. However, thank you for the offer.

Unable to identify song at all.
It did not even want to try for a single track. But does allow user to insist to search anyway. Which I did to click on menu icon "Find album info for selected files". Waited EXACTLY 20 seconds and the suggested titles were shown in a pop up window. All were completely wrong. Way off the mark.

The FreeDB database lookup relies on all tracks from a CD album, before it can do a lookup for tag data.
But that is a moot point.
It is Catch-22.
If I already have the whole album, then why on earth do I need to search using this software and FreeDB database?

This is the warning message:

Not for single track!
TagTuner uses FreeDB to lookup album information. It is not possible
to identify the album correctly only from a single track. You need to
have all tracks from the original CD. To have meaningful search results
please use TagTuner the following way:
Album Info for Entire Folder
If you have one album per folder you can save one more dick
by skipping selection of the tracks.
Album Info for Selected Tracks
Select tracks first if you have more than one album in a folder
and then use this button.
Note: Tracks must be sorted as they exist on the original CD. You can click on File List column headers to change tracks sorting.

Proceed with single track Cancel

...............................................

Just for comparison, I played the song and used this excellent online utility

http://www.midomi.com/

I played the same song.

midomi accurately identified the song within EXACTLY 11 seconds.

Unlike TagTuner, it does not need an entire album of songs to do the identification. Just 1 single song is enough.

I installed it over an existing trial version of TagTuner (expired) and the software will not run anymore. I tried removing and re-installing it but no luck. Any solution?

Installed and (self)registered without problems on a Win 8.1.2 Pro 64 bit system.

Upon start an explorer like interface opens, you select your music folder, you can define playlists, play it with the default player and change/edit tags.

The .DLL's are mostly from 2008, two are from 2011. The copyright from 2009.

You can modify the tags in every way. It can search Album Info on the web and with the print collection tool, you can print a catalog of your files. In the settings you can define the number of undo steps. Default five - up to ten. That's good and often needed.

This is in my case done without problems - no learning curve and easy to understand.

The compact mode shows only the playlist, to switch between playlist and explorer interface use the button at the right bottom.

One of the many music tag tools. Working. Keep it, if you don't have already one. I'll reboot - it makes no sense for me to keep several MP3 tag editors...
