On the question of turning your AV off for a few minutes. I have been using this site for years and I have never had reason for concern as to its safety. At times I turn my AV off if I trust the source of the download. I repair computers and I can tell you I have never had anyone tell me this website was responsible for a virus.

Can this program do anymore than the free MP3TAG?

On one hand, I can tell that this is a potentially powerful tool for working with MP3 tags based upon the parts I was able to use and upon the claims/descriptions. However, I am finding its interface quite confusing. I have a personal compilation of great songs numbering 106 MP3. I want to tag it as a separate album with my own created album name and my own homemade album cover art.

I have the cover art (as a JPG) in the correct folder and have tried to follow the interface and instructions to accomplish this task. Instead, the entire collection's cover art is from the original album the first song in the collection came from (now a Van Halen song is from an Alicia Keys album :-)), and the album tag seems to have been randomly pulled from one of my tracks and applied to all tunes in the list (so now both Alicia Keys and Van Halen tunes are from a Styx album :-)).

Like I said, I really believe this program is likely to be powerful, it is just not easy to use.

mp3 sound is horrible. Please delete all mp3 tracks (you can't call it music) and start over with .wav or lossless codec.

Not clear how "Pro" differs from the free version. Also... it's been quite some time since this was meaningfully updated. The website says June 2016, but I've had v.99 for several years.

Carly,

The free version supports MP3 files only, and the lyrics finder there is just a demo. The version offered here is actually v. 0.99.8, it came out in June. The program is fairly regularly updated with features and bugfixes. And, there were never a taghycardia 0.99.

Carly, So......? If you have been using it for years, could you at least do a bit of a review. I tried out a different program once that totally destroyed my library. It took days to fix it so I'm very leery of trying another without knowing more about it. A review from someone who knows the program would certainly help.

I have tried to download it five times now. Each time i run setup.exe, it tells me that the file is corrupt and that i should get another copy. Can someone give me a link for a good download because the link sent to my email is NOT WORKING.

Reply   |   Comment by terryW  –  7 years ago  –  Did you find this comment useful? yes | no (-3)

terryW, The link is most likely good. You probably need to restart your computer with antivirus software disabled. That is what I have to do with Kaspersky every time I want to download a GOATD file. Disable Kapsersky, restart with it disabled, download and run file, reenable Kaspersky.

havein a fixed naming convention for folders isnt verey flexable:

%Artist% - %Album% (%Year%) isnt my to my liking at all. so a thumbs down I gues for making it "fixed"

[From their website: Optional auto renaming of music folders according to the fixed pattern:
%Artist% - %Album% (%Year%)]

Twenty Eight Thumbs Up and Twenty One Thumbs Down and only one comment with a reply; what's wrong with this picture? If your going to give a program a thumbs down at least give a valid reason why; other than you don't like the interface. Have enough intestinal fortitude to back up your rating.

Reply   |   Comment by JonE  –  7 years ago  –  Did you find this comment useful? yes | no (+8)

JonE, it looks like you've never voted down. From some certain time if you vote down a popup menu apears with several possible reasons for your negative vote, including "other", where you can explain with your own words. Probably GOTD send this statistic to the developers, but not to us. IMHO this information would be very useful for the users too.

If I have to buy something online, I read the reviews. And I pay attention mostly to the negative reviews. For example- I was going to buy a laptop online. It had mostly good reviews, and a few negative ones. I read the negatives- some lady complain she ordered a laptop in pink color, but when the laptop arrived- she was "totally disappointed", because the color wasn't what she imagined. Another guy complained because the plug for the charging cable was on the left side, and for some reasons he preferred it on the right. And they rated the laptop with one star.

Since the above characteristics doesn't relate at all with the quality of the laptop- I stepped further. But if there were a negative reviews like- the battery died in one month, or the laptop is overheating, or some other really technical- I wouldn't pay for it.

In other words- since GOTD have some statistics about the negative votes- it would be nice if they provide it for us too. If it doesn't help the users, at least- it is not going to hurt.

Stan, First it seems as if we are very much alike in the way we view reviews. I need to point out that in your examples the people who gave a one rating did indeed give their perspective reasons in the form of a comment.

Yes, I have given a thumbs down, all be it rarely, but I have and so I do know what you mean about the pop up with the check boxes and the last one being "Other". But, even if one writes something in "Other" we don't get to see it. That should be backed up with a comment to validate their rating. With that said I completely agree with you about the stats that we don't see. The more stats that are made available the better decision can be made.

How would you Improve taghycardia for 0.99?
Mainly I canceled the need to write this on the web with the need for further registration (name, e-mail). Apparently not enough to write it here :-(. Probably not too authors of developments, such as the acquisition of contact :-(.
It would be a good support flac, but do not write about them: - \

Downloaded this and attempted installation. Got through the verification with GOTD but no software installed. I'm running Windows 10 pro 64 bit. I have Unchecky running but for this I disabled it, as it has interupted installs before. Anyone got any ideas?

Reply   |   Comment by Ian  –  7 years ago  –  Did you find this comment useful? yes | no (-9)

Try disabling your virus scanner for the time it takes you to install. I had the same problem with another GOTD and that did the trick.

Reply   |   Comment by Scolaro  –  7 years ago  –  Did you find this comment useful? yes | no (-10)

Scolaro, if I need to stop my virus scanner, I choose not to. If the writers can't make sure they have made sure they have no false positives, the software is not for me... If you start this way of installing apps, pretty soon you'll let a nasty in. Don't do it.

Scolaro, Only a fool would disable their AV to run an executable. Your "advice" is most dangerous.

Reply   |   Comment by Carly  –  7 years ago  –  Did you find this comment useful? yes | no (+15)

Scolaro, Thanks for the advice, it worked, however it is worrying to be disabling anti-virus even for only a few minutes.

Ian,
Jabbing buttons on mobile devices is common on many of the social media sites.

Here for many years asking a question has never been marked down nor has answering it.
The reason being it often leads to interesting discussions and help to many others.

Please, please don't take the "did you find this comment useful" quite so literally. :-)

Freeware Panda Cloud antivirus doesn't need to be stopped to install downloads from this site.

Ian,

In order, download - unzip to a folder on desktop (which you will delete after finalizing install) - open folder and one at a time, right click setup (and activate if present) and choose run as administrator.

This should take care of the install.

If not before trying again, do a cleanup (Microsoft, Glary Utilities or Crap Cleaner) of disk, web browsers, ETC

Mememe, the false positive is the fault of the AV companies not GOTD. Some AV programs have no problems with the GOTD package, then there are some that will block them all the time. I am sure that GOTD has contacted the AV companies and have tried to work it out. I had AVG which blocked GOTD downloads in Win 10, but I had no trouble when I was using Win XP. I have since uninstalled AVG and am using AV programs that I got from GOTD and I haven't had any issues installing GOTD programs anymore.
