Painting with light!

If you are a MacOS user, please download the installation package here (230 MB).

Utilizing Artificial Intelligence and Neural Networks, Style App will take an image or video and apply a predefined graphic style to your media.
For example you could make a style transfer of Vincent van Gogh’s “starry night” and an image of your dog to create a master piece! It also works on any video.

It’s easy to use and you can chain styles together for more style combinations. Over 20 styles to choose from and more being made every week. And because Style runs offline, you can process high resolution images or videos any time you like.

It spent 2 days rendering an video in 1920x1920 format.
It seem this video format is unplayable on anything.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Needs batch process and own effects capability to be added, many other free software do these overlay effects.

There's no point of this software where there are many websites online which can produce similar AI generated effects without hampering your own computer resource. Look up Ostagram.

doodle doug, Try uninstalling ithe program, and reboot your system, than reinstall the program. and pay attention to where the install folder goes to, or make your own destination folder when or if it asks you upon installing. Hope this helps you.

Cannot get it to work on a video, comes up with (there was an error processing this image.). Does it depend on size and type of video? Works ok on images.

in order to get no water mark in the finished images, you have to remove the check mark "Show watermark" under Settings - License and Watermark.

You do not need an AI to create the random streaks and lines and splashes for it, in any good photo editor just do pencil outline, fill some empty spaces with color and streaks and voila, better looking art because you control it and not some random AI preprogrammed looks.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Style has been previously offered here one year ago:
https://www.giveawayoftheday.com/style/
This new version installs smoothly over the previous one. Only noticeable (by me) difference with previous giveaway: 34 filters instead of 29.
First, stop fantasizing on the video above, unless your PC has a Rolls-Royce aircraft engine and can be exclusively assigned to this task for days, you won't make your own. Last time no commenters seems to have succeeded, at least not during the giveaway. But if you are into image manipulation, just using Style on photos can justify giving it a try. It will be extremely easy for you (nearly nothing to do), but hard on your PC.
"Please be patient, this may take a long time", warns the interface during the processing, which is an understatement, as it takes an eternity, even for just a picture, and don't expect to do anything in the meantime with your PC except meditating in the lotus position while staring at the screen, as Style will likely claim the entirety of its resources.
The result can be so weird that it will go direct to your recycle bin, but can be stunning if you manage to match the right photo with the right filter, very different from what you get with regular filters of all kinds or with programs which make your photos look like they were paintings or sketches. That's because these filters are not exactly filters strictly speaking, but an image in which elements are picked up and rearranged to reconstitute your picture. You can let them bring their own colors (= more fun) or take those of your original picture (= closer to it). The video above gives you an idea, you can also follow my link at the end of this post.
Hints:
1/ Everytime you want to try another filter after a first one on the same image, don't forget to click the "back" button first if you don't want the new filter to be applied OVER the previous one.
2/ If your PC finds the job too hard and freezes, try a smaller output size limit. My computer, with only 4GB of RAM, wouldn't go beyond 1024x1024, the maximum authorized by Style being 1920x1920. This might seem very small if you want to print, but the sort of grid of contrasting squares which compose the created images coud give a kind of interesting op'art aspect to a large print (although I haven't tried).
3/ If you are not satisfied with the results on certain parts of the created image, do not try to redo it, it would look exactly the same, create another one with your original picture mirrored or rotated beforehand (you can't do this in Style, I suggest they add it, as I am certainly not the only one to have had this idea), then mirror or rotate it back. The effect will be applied slightly differently on the second version. If you are a perfectionist, you can even load them both in an image editor supporting layers and combine them to create a composite with the best parts of each one, or blend them, or blend one with the original picture to mitigate the effect.
4/ Take note that it works only for x64 machines.
And, so that you won't complain here that this giveaway is nothing but a trial version which adds a watermark and wouldn't let you save (but I'm willing to bet that I am wasting my time and there will be at least one infuriated poster):
5/ UNCHECK THE "SHOW WATERMARK" BOX IN THE SETTINGS (Why would anyone WANT to have a Style watermark anyhow?)
6/ Don't look for "save" or "save as" after processing: just have a look in your image folder where your creation is already in a Style subfolder, unless you have decided in the settings that it must be elsewhere.
Here:
http://galerie.archive-host.com/n/index.php?id=pjF50CKgkrzOPqEy7uez
you can have a look at 12 animated GIFs showing some of my photos before/after a passage in Style. (Click a thumbnail to enlarge, then click again to animate.) All images but n° 05 created with box "Use your image colours" unchecked. The percentage indicated below is the opacity of the Style image pasted over the original photo in an image editor. When it is not indicated, the Style image has not been blended with the original. All photos except n° 11 and 12 are scans of analog photos.
01- Filter: Geometry;
02- Filter: Colorful world, first with 100% opacity, then with 50% opacity
03- Filter: Triangles, first with 100% opacity, then at various opacity levels depending on the areas + some doctoring on the kid's face
04- Filter: Mandelbrot, first with 100% opacity, then with 60% opacity
05- Filter: Cubist. Image created from original photo and image created from mirrored photo blended 50/50 (for a more complex pattern) [photo colors, desaturated on the background].
06- Filter: Edtaonisl. Image created from original color photo and image created from B&W mirrored photo blended 50/50
07- Filter: Kandinsky
08- Filter: Candy
09- Filter: Kanagawa
10- Filter: Acrylic at various opacity levels depending on the areas
11- Filters: Colored pencil lines with 100% opacity for pavement and water [filter colors desaturated]; Psychedelic with 40% opacity for pigeons
12- Filter: Retrofuture
Some GOTDers today may be intrigued about what this software purports to do. Downloading and trialing is usually the best way to go about discovering that, but in this instance I'd recommend some preliminary research, seeing as how my encounter with an earlier version offered on here mirrored that of a reply by reliable GOTD regular TKto post #29:
https://www.giveawayoftheday.com/style-2-1-0/
Nothing in today's giveaway details suggests that the massive installation and subsequent major hit on computer resources has changed. Running it on an x64 OS (it won't do so on a 32-bit OS) is possible if one is so inclined, but allocating local storage and devoting local resources isn't the only way to go. This offline facility is free to use:
https://deepdreamgenerator.com/
You'll need to register with an email address and password, after which you can look at the work of others and 'generate' your own AI masterpiece. . . or not: perhaps predictably, the vast majority of this kind of "artwork" on the 'Net is mere Grotesquerie, the seeming result of Hieronymous Bosch having a bad day some time in the 15th Century.
There's also another free -- and excellent -- online resource that's been around for quite a while for anyone interested in transforming and re-rendering their images: Lunapic. It may not lay claim to neural networking and AI but it's pretty darn good at rendering images that have been subject to effects manipulation:
https://www196.lunapic.com/editor/
Finally: one particular software offering that's also entirely free of charge, isn't a resource hit nor a massive install, and works equally well on 32bit and 64bit machines -- including Vista -- is the delightful FotoSketcher from France-based independent developer David Thoiron:
https://fotosketcher.com/
For those interested in software which doesn't involve neural networks, Artificial Intelligence, and the ability to reconstitute an image of human form in a mess of paisley-patterned goldfish heads, those two 'traditional' resources are highly recommended, LunaPic online, FotoSketcher on your 'pooter.
For those interested in exploring the surreal, then today's offer is obviously going to be more suitable, but if its presence turns out to be too excessive and demanding, then there's no need to bewail that on here: the online Deep Dream generator is readily accessible to all.
Reply   |   Comment by MikeR  –  5 years ago  –  Did you find this comment useful? yes | no (+62)
MikeR,
"... the online Deep Dream generator is readily accessible to all."
For anyone interested, Google "deep dream" [w/out quotes] -- 888,000,000 hits. wikipedia[.]org/wiki/DeepDream . Most everything seems to be around 2015 when Google released their code.
You can also Google on stuff like "photo painting effect" [w/out quotes] -- 38,900,000 hits -- for on-line or software, plug-ins, how-to articles/blogs etc. PaintShop Pro is a less expensive alternative to P/Shop [eventually current versions go on sale for $20-$30 -- today's 2019 version is still too new, being recently released], & it has many painting/sketching type FX.
For free software, Chasys Draw IES is very interesting, & many P/Shop compatible plug-ins will work, & there are many of those that are free. jpchacha[.]com/chasysdraw/index.php
Got version 2.1.0.5 last time it was given away. Great fun program, but resource intensive and, if allowed to, it will bog the entire system down.
I learned to go to Task Manager on my Win 8 computer and set it's "Affinity" to only use 2 or 3 of my 4 processor cores. Then I can still do other things while it runs in the background.
Hoping this newer version addressed the resource hogging issue. I know these sorts of programs need a lot of processor power, but it should know better than to take it all.
https://www.giveawayoftheday.com/style-2-1-0/
Contrary to what the link says, it was the very same version: 2.2.0.4. I just read the survey I made then (post 3), and it is still valid, including my examples and the great free online site I mention as an alternative.
Downloaded this last time. It's very much resource intensive so best render small image then uprez. That said, the results are pretty cool so worth the huge download and then the install. It will sometimes give error upon launch (at least on my Win10 64 bit system as configured as it is); if this happens, just close and restart and all will be well. Again, thank GAOTD for sharing this gem. :)
