Sorry, I was mistaken. Offcet A4DB1, change 0x36 to 0x31, offcet A4DB2, change 0x32 to 0x31.

P.S. Or search for 'Board name',0x0d,0x0a,'62' and replace 62 with 11

to Rick:
You must find text 'Board name',0x0d,0x0a,'63' in file pack0.pak and replace '63' with any other number (i.e. '11') with any HEX-editor.

Location of this text can be different in your version of game.

Sadly ruined by unplayable levels later in the game (7.2 for example). Ends up being a mean-spirited game.

Hmmm... I'm gonna give that a try, cat... though as a hamster, I probably shouldn't be taking advice from a cat. ;)

After some further observation, I'd like to make a correction about what triggers the power-ups.

Power-up #1 - removes all adjacent butterflies around the power up - triggered by making a chain of 4.

Power-up #2 - removes all adjacent butterflies around the entire chain made by the power-up - triggered by making a chain of 5.

Power-up #3 - removes all butterflies of that color - triggered by removing 2 or more power-up with with same move, either within the same chain, or within multiple chains.

It took a bit of experimentation to figure out what was actually triggering #3, but once you know the trick, they're not all that hard to get. Just requires a bit of planning. It seems to be easier to set up a combination where a Power-up #2 removes a Power-up #1, but only because a #2 removes a wider ranger of butterflies from the board. But two #1's also works. The easiest way to set it up is to get a chain of 5 to get a #2. Then look in that area to see if there is a chain of 4 that'll give you a #1. Then try to remove the #2, and hope that the #1 gets caught in the chain reaction.

(And no snickering about #1's and #2's, or I'll get cat to hex-edit the heck out of your hard drive.) :P

I've finished the game.
I've found a way to replace level 7.2 with any playable level.
I've changed in a file pack0.pak (in DATA folder) two bytes (offcet A4E37) - there was 0x36 0x33 ("63" - internal level number) with 0x31 31 ("11" - you can try other number).

Sorry for my bad english.

Yup, level 7.2 seems to be the end of the game. There's no way to clear that level. The earlier levels ARE clearable, but you really have to play in the "relaxed" mode where you don't have to worry about the energy bar.

What appears to be a glitch in the game where three butterflies in a row can't be cleared actually isn't a glitch. If you look closely, the edge of the play field is surrounded by vines/flowers. Sometimes, part of the playing field is separated from the rest of the field, but the only things to indicate that it's separate are these vines.

Something I noticed that you WILL need to know to clear the later levels is what triggers the power-ups. Some of the butterflies are isolated, and blocked from the field by spider webs. The only way to clear these butterflies is with the power-up that removes all the bf's on the level of one color. While the power-up may seem to come at random, they're actually triggered by clearing larger chains of bf's. If you clear 4 bf's of the same color in a row, you'll get the weakest power-up, which clears all the other bf's surrounding the power-up. If you clear 5 bf's in a row, you'll get one of the two more powerful power-ups, either the one that clears all the surrounding bf's in the full chain, or the important one that clears all the bf's of the same color. So, instead of concentrating on just clearing chains of 3, you should be trying to maneuver them so that you build chains of 5. It's not possible to clear a chain larger than 5, and if you clear multiple chains at the same time, each chain is counted separately. The chains are not added together. So clearing two chains of 3 at the same time doesn't get you any power-ups.

Hope that helps some people clear the later levels... but don't count on getting past level 7.2. It just doesn't seem possible. There are no areas where you can get chains of 5, even if you're lucky. It's a shame this game wasn't properly play-tested.

I started noticing programming glitches in level 6 where there would be butterflies in groups of three but they wouldn't be released and/or would try to put butterflies in groups of three and they wouldn't go. Was able to work around this until level 7.1 where so many parts of the board were "stuck" that I couldn't clear enough butterflies (that should have cleared) to keep playing. I've reloaded the board a number of times, with no success. Definitely a programming glitch.

You will NEVER get past level 7:2 - the other levels if you play them 20-40 times, eventually will start to give you super butterfly's and IF you can get them connected fast enough will cause all of that color to fly away allowing you to actually go further in the game - but level 7:2 is impossible - when it sets the bflys down, it doesn't recognize missing webs or webbed flys or vines blocking, so creates unplayable screens, IF it notices that there are no more moves - and that is pretty rare at the higher levels since it mearly looks to see if there are adjacent butterflies and NOT whether or not the butterfly can actually be moved, THEN you get a new group of butterflys, about 1/3 of the time I can make at least 1-2 moves, once I got in a whole 5 moves - I'm so excited.

Loved the game until I got to these levels. I am SO GLAD I didn't waste money buying this dud. To make it even more frustrating, you have to back all the way out of the game to the title screen to restart the game, no restart button.

Also there is very little skill in gaining bonus butterflies - they come or not come without much rhyme or reason - every time I thought I had figured it out, it didn't work when I tried to trigger it on purpose. And you aren't going to go much past the level 5's without lots of bonus butterflies - the "every one this color" is impossible to do without.

I'm stuck on 7.2 too. After numerous tries, (though why I'm still bothering I've no idea), I've been unable to make more than a few moves at most. To number 13, there is no way you have finished this game and certainly not in the short time you could have played it.

I agree with [154 tina] how crazy... I have reloaded the game about 20 times and still... no workable board!!! This game started out so easy a 3 yr old could play it... now I can't even get more than 2 plays on this board!!! Grrrrrrrr to those programmers!!!

There is no skill building in this game. It is too random. You might advance a level, or you may not. But it is not based on any sort of learning curve.

There are no instructions that detail just how to get the manna that allows you to advance. There are obviously manna bonuses somewhere, but without knowing how to attain them, what's the point?

Level 5.11- the middle of the field was not accessible to clear, and I had cleared all of the other manna blocks. So, I lost on that round. On restarting, I was able to advance, but I don't know how I did that because YOU DON'T PROVIDE COHERENT INSTRUCTIONS AS TO HOW THE GAME WORKS! Yes, I am shouting at you.

Surely it wouldn't be too problematic for your programmers to provide detailed instructions as to how the game works.

Additionally, when attempting to give the thumbs down, the query box wouldn't take this statement, so I'm posting it here.

Well, I am not a little girl, but I LOVE this game. I am still playing it after downloading it days ago. I love puzzle games in general, and at first site I thought it might be lame, and seemed way too easy for the first few levels, but its gets a lot trickier near the end. Anyways it is a great game, and I love it because there arent many games I can actually beat (that still have some challenge to them) so I am hooked. I'd love to see more like this, and for those complaining about it being too girly or childlike, we put up with the shooter games and theres enough of us that like these so deal with it! Like they say, its free so dont complain!

Unlike a couple of people who seem to have made it all the way through Unlike a couple of people who seem to have made it all the way through this game, I cannot get past level 7-1. The board is different every time I save my game and come back to it, but it is like a solitaire or mahjong game where there are no more moves. Every time I try this level it is the same, no matter what the layout. I'm not a dummy and I'm not 5 years old and I believe I understand the -sketchy- instructions for the game, so someone tell me if I am missing something, please.

I have also noted some problems with the game that indicate that it was released before adequate testing had been done and I am attempting to contact the developers at Elefun to let them know what I found. Even their Contact form does not work! This game was just put up on the Elefun website a week or two before it was given to Giveawayoftheday and it is not yet even listed in their games forum for discussion. We've been used as game testers!

I am posting this message in the Giveawayoftheday Forum where I would welcome additional feedback from any GAOTDers now that you have had more time with this game.

I didn't realize GOTD was only allowed to give away programs for adults. Some people need to shup up and realize that they are not the only ones who use computers. I'm 30, and I love this game. I have already spent hours playing it with my children. Amazing how obnoxious people get when there is a FREE program they aren't interested in! If you don't like it, don't get it. Is that so hard to understand? Can you learn PATIENCE? I give it a ten for the quality time with the kids.

It's not that bad a game. I found it difficult once they bring out the blocked pieces and the oddly placed manna. I'll enjoy between doing random pics on Paint and sessions on MPORGs.

As for the whiners, it's a free game. What's there to complain about?

What is it with all the negative comments? - Free is Free - You have a choice to download or not, there are descriptions of the software/games prior to downloading. You can always uninstall if you choose not to like it, why leave negative and non-constructive comments? Accept that games are for a wide range of age groups, just because today's game doesn't suite your tastes, doesn't mean it doesn't suit others - Give me a break! What is wrong with some of these people? Thanks GOTD for letting us have the opportunity and choice of a wide variety of games and software. You have many supporters!

Very cute game. Installed fine. The butterflies are cute. My daughter will love this. It's a simple bejeweled type game, but perfect for kids and for when you want to just relax and play a game.Kinda boring after a few levels but like a said a great kids game. And it's FREE, so why complain about it, if you don't like or want it don't install it! Thanks GAOTD!

I have been reading the comments here. The people who have given it a thumbs up are clearly people who DONT know about the game giveaway site. This is where people come for free software. They are complaining because this game is a waste of bandwidth, it should have just been placed on the games site. I have to agree, what a waste of time! Can not believe I have recommended this site to people looking for software.

@ #106 The board rotates when you move the cursor to the far left or right side of the screen, to make it easier to see parts of the board when you're viewing in 3D mode. To switch between 3D and 2D, click the 2D/3D button in the upper left corner of the screen. This information was given during the brief tutorial at the beginning of the game. I missed one part about the mouse click you use to switch between 2D and 3D, but I suspect that's what's causing the board to change inclination on you.

Don't comment on the game until AFTER installing and playing, PLEASE.

The graphics and gameplay far exceeded my expectations. Originally I thought "Hmm this sounds a bit lame... I guess I'll download since there are so many thumb-ups..." I was pleasantly surprised. The 3D butterfly sprites look very nice, and the puzzles gets more challenging as the game progresses. The music is smoothing, though it might get repetitive after a while if one pays too much attention to it.

Thumbs up. Good job from the author.

Cute matching game with very beautiful graphics. The animated main character looks more like a traditional Hawaiian dancer than a fairy, but that's fine and it's the only odd thing about the game.

Game runs smoothly and has soothing music and sounds. On-screen directions during play are pretty clear and there's a bit of a story line rather than just matching for points alone. Supports multiple player profiles and includes ability to rotate the playing field and camera angles on-the-fly during play.

Don't miss this one if you have young daughters, grand daughters or nieces. If they like Bejeweled, and most little girls do, then they will absolutely love this one!

Activation issues? Check your IE settings under 'File' and see if the 'Work Offline' has a tick or check mark next to it. If it does, click on it to toggle it off. Once that's done it should do the trick.

Even if you avoid using IE like the plague, dig around until you find it buried in your system, dust it off and check it anyway ... This was the answer for me when I had the same error messages about activation crop up out of the blue. I normally always use Firefox and I don't know how anything on IE could have changed, but it's how I fixed things. (If it's not the answer for you - sorry and I'm stumped!)

And yes, games will go back to GGOTD when the two teams are back to full strength after the summer. Patience is definitely a virtue, people - specially when hoping to receive nice free gifts ...

I'm going to ditto comments #47 (although I also have no interest and won't download, with many others I've ignored), and #120 (with emphasis to the whiners and gimme attitudes). I don't even stop by every day and I DID know that the staff is on vacation. Frankly, I think promoting games on weekends is fine. Obviously too many who bother to post, whine, and interrupt the quality of REAL reviews (which I like for any program offered, including the ones I have no interest in), should take a close look in the mirror without their ego glasses.

And I'm posting for the first time today because those whiners really reflect the attitude of a large population of society today and I'm tired of being silent about it. Get a life!

Now, why does this game run BLINDINGLY slow on my 2.4ghz Intel Core 2 Duo system with NVidia GeForce 86xx SLI? I'd think it would run pretty good, but it doesn't. maybe I'll try it on my wife's laptop.
