I was running old version without any issues but when out curosity I installed new version i am having serious problems.

Program splits fine but when I touch the file in explorer (windpws) to rename it or play it the explorer crashes.

I am frustrated. Same happens at work. I dont know what i am doing wrong.

I dont want to pay for it as I am not sure same would not happen after I buy it.

#35/GOTD, I scanned the "VideoSplitter.zip" at virustotal.com. The Panda
scanner reported suspicious file while more than 20 other scanners
reported no virus found. Then I scanned my computer with Panda ActiveScan – Free online antivirus. It found lots of malware (mostly adware in cookies) but none of them were in the downloaded VideoSplitter files, so I don't think I can take Panda's scanner seriously (or virustotal may have messed up).

I have the same problem as Palmer in #8. DL'ed and installed Media Player 11. Video Splitter still can't register the file. Installed the Media Player 9 exe. Same results. I rebooted after the Media Player installations and before retrying the Video Splitter install. Any other ideas?

Program seems fine, but when I open help from the menu, it crashes immediately after the help window opens. Opening the program and then opening the help (.chm) file from Explorer works fine. Anyone else with this problem?

I had a similar problem as eNavy a while back with a couple of the games. The games, themselves, weren't infected, but they created bonus "If you liked this, try these"-style icons on my desktop which WERE infected. I'm not complaining, though, because 99.9% of the programs are great and being free is always great (not to mention having to wait hours to find out what the next givaway is makes every day like Christmas...lol), but rather promising to keep my eye out for infected files which make it though so that maybe you can lean on the company(s) responsible and get them to stop secretly passing out infected goods. Your GOTD program is great PR - I've already purchased three of the giveaways so that I can reinstall them at a later date if needed. Thanks, GOTD team!

Kudos guys for the free software. The Video Splitter software install was easy and I was able to cut out commercials from TV videos I captured in Xvid format (AVI) on the first use without using the imbedded help files. I tried the same thing in Windows Movie Maker and it would not open the files

Hummm... Do you scan the files before you release them ? The site clame that the files are adware and spyware free. But my scanner warnned me that there was an adware called SaferScan made by Integrated search Technologies attached in the file ??? So is it realy a clean file ? thk

"However, for majority of your fans to enjoy this wonderful freebies, try to make the installation Internet-Independent (that is we should be able to install your software on our local computer that do not have opportunity to be connected to the INTERNET."

How would you even download the program if you don't have internet-access? Or do you have access for the exact amount of time it takes to download the program, but not the extra few seconds it takes to register? (Even with a slow connection the registration should be a matter of seconds.)

I suppose it could be the case that some people don't have internet at home so they have to download it at work and bring it home, but I think that's pretty rare. In any event, without the online-registration that controls the time, it would become easy to install the program whenever (by changing the internal clock), and I don't think the creators want free programs floating about on the net for all enternity. It's a one-time chance, take it or leave it.

I clicked on "register" at the "help" pull down menu and then clicked on the + sign. The "Activate" and "Buy now" buttons became available and pressing the + sign again didn't make them go away.

I closed the whole thing and clicked on "register" again and everything looked like the first time. I hope I didn't screw up my lifetime registration!

I tried to reinstall, but running "setup.exe" wanted to unistall SolveigMM and I liked that even less. I am not sure if I have a problem, but it doesn't hurt to ask. Any experts out there with advice?

I was looking around solveigmm website and I found the user's guide in pdf for the SolveigMM Video Splitter.

I don't know if it has the same info as the help file, but I downloaded it anyway. Thanks GOTD!

It says it offers alot of different formats, but alot of my avi files it claims are corrupted. They really need to work on the compatibility as it seems most of the common avi encodes dont work. h264, etc it works pretty well for most other types of files though.

Unable to install. Gets 99% of the way through, and then "Cannot register C:\Program Files\Solvieg Multimedia\SMM_ASFMuxer.ax". Install then aborts. I've tried 5 times now.
