Fantastic Ocean 3D is a screensaver that takes you on a peaceful flight over the ocean, which is carefully recreated in true 3D. The effect is magical. It looks as if you were gliding on a paraglide several feet above the waves. The surface of the ocean is like a sheet of glass. The setting sun is reflected on it with a hundred of different shades of color. The wonderful thing about the view is that it changes constantly. It's a constant source of enjoyment!

I couldn't get the registration to work either- it shows up on the Screen Saver settings panel and even if you switch to another screen saver I couldn't get the registration to keep. I looked for a process in Task Manager that looked like it might be the screensaver but I couldn't see a likely process. I was hoping that perhaps rebooting might work as well, but it didn't.

This is the second screen saver I have failed to register, and I'm not really happy that everything I do doesn't appear to help.

I live in the UK and at 9.15 am today, only 7 hours after the offer was made, I am told it has expired because it is now the 12th of April here, but the offer was made on the 11th April your time.

Very disappointed

Douglas Neale,

Same here, sir. I didn't receive the email from Giveawayoftheday until the early hours this morning (12th April), and some of us tend to be asleep during those hours.

Methinks it shows a certain degree of ineptitude.

" ... It's a constant source of enjoyment!"

REALLY? I do not wish to cast aspersions - but I'm very tempted too.

The provided video clip doesn't really leave me in awe, so I do hope that that once I've installed the program I get to see more than a few gentle ripples on the surface and some sunset skies

Running activation program does not remove registration. Without registration the screensaver does not work.

This gets a thumbs up as I just reset my laptop and lost the last giveaway, so I'm happy. The screensaver is pretty cool, something different. Thanks!

Oops - I forgot to add that it was easy to register this. You just have to make sure that you close out of the program first.

I don't use screensavers all the time any more, but I still do sometimes. This one is very calming. It runs smoothly and does what it is supposed to do. I also like that it gives several choices as to which images it will use. Thanks very much, GAOTD and Rixane!

Really beautiful screensaver and nice for whale watching season. Screen savers have always been my favorite Giveaways, have missed them! Love it.

I'm so happy to see this again. I lost it when I got a new computer and missed the 'zen' I got from it. Thanks for the giveaway today.

LOVE these "screensavers."
And while we don't need them for that specific role any more, I was "chilling" to the Earth from Space just yesterday.
SO peaceful and relaxing to watch (& listen to).
Thanks GOTD & R.I. for these superbly-crafted, truly calming (and yet exhilarating) "Eye Candies."
Highly recommended.
(And - NO - I'not shilling for them.)
P.S. Would LOVE to see The Moon 3D as a future giveaway as I volunteer at a camp for kids with autism and these usually non-stop-children will sit and watch the Moon for HOURS!

Glenn Norman, Ok. Moon 3D will be available in the future.

Glenn Norman: Mrs R and I also know something about autistic children (and adults) and the value of visual stimulii when such is truly immersive. Kudos then to you for recognising the relevance of today's screensaver, and to Giveawayoftheday and Rixane Interactive for making Fantastic Ocean 3D available here.

I hope GOTD won't mind me mentioning here another free 'immersive' which in my experience fascinates all adults and all children alike, even though it's not widely known.

It's from ICE panorama developer Microsoft Research teamed with multi-billion-pixel imaging specialist GigaPan Systems, a company evolved from a collaboration of teams from NASA and Carnegie Mellon University.

The resulting 'immersive' of Manhattan -- it can be flown over, walked through, enlarged, panned, tilted, and examined from every conceivable angle using the on-screen controls -- is a masterpiece of digital technology:

http://gigapan.com/

Simply click on the angled-arrow icon at the image's righthand side to go full screen, and then spend however long you feel like, holding down the left mouse button to swoop, soar and navigate where you wish. (And zoom in on the Statue of Liberty. . .)

Microsoft and GigaPan were also responsible in 2014 for the immersive panoramic 'A Day in Seattle' -- again, a largely unheard-of achievement, though kids absolutely adore it -- which though currently off-line will hopefully be back up again soon, so it's maybe worth keeping an eye on this link:

http://gigapixelartzoom.com/

Thanks again, then, to GOTD and Rixane Interactive -- and best wishes to you and all those lovely kids you have the joy of working with.

(PS: Apologies to any GOTDer who as a result of the first link spends much, much too long in Manhattan when she/he ought to be doing something else . . .)
