This would be awesome for Webinars and Videos of your Screen. I hate when people type two words and have 6 typos in those two words. It types at the speed you select, so it looks real. Real Professional. No Errors. Have the words pre-typed and then just hit the shortcut keys when you need to. Awesome.

I did got the error "the 'microsoft.ace.oledb.12.0' provider is not registered on the local machine" and googled fot it.
On this page there was a solution:
https://social.msdn.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/1d5c04c7-157f-4955-a14b-41d912d50a64/how-to-fix-error-the-microsoftaceoledb120-provider-is-not-registered-on-the-local-machine?forum=vstsdb
I went to the site
https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/confirmation.aspx?id=23734
and strange: in Firefox nothing happened.
In Internet Explorer there was a download of file "AccessDatabaseEngine.exe"
After running this file, there was no fault anymore.

As a member Give Away since its inception and professional assistive technology evaluator as I see it we are doing the software industry a huge favor in evaluating and commenting on their software substantially greater than the cost of purchasing software outright!! It appears that the professional commentary is extremely useful to publishers and the dismissal noise is not helpful to us. We should be provided with full software [not done in this instance] and full upgrades as a thank you for testing this often not ready for prime time software that can't even pass the Norton AV trust test.

In this instance this is a potential useful piece of AT software and the author is only offering the AUTO-Typer version and has stripped of the talker component as I understand it. As a suggestion to our GAOTD website owners, might I suggest that you cherish our FREE professional commentary and not treat us as if you are doing us a favor. Further to the point perhaps you should consider a new marketing approach in suggesting that publishers provide full versions with all the whistles and bells attached and possibly add an annual commentary /suggestion box e-mail for continued use. IMHO we are not privileged to get this as a giveaway, we are earning this by waving our $150+ per hour consulting fees to help you succeed and the authors publish better software. Noting that certain of my professional associates are no longer commenting I would ask yourselves why?? Could it be that things have changed and we are being less respected?? Just a thought and a suggestion that the publisher would be better served if they were made aware of the value added when respectful and helpful suggestions are made and when the rating system is made when the software is evaluated worldwide before evaluations/opinions are skewed to the benefit of the publisher before a reasonable evaluation is available.

mentor-one,

Let me get this straight.

As a "$150+ per hour" consultant you can not afford the $12.95 price for the fully featured version of this software (actually, discounted to $8.95 through today) to evaluate a full copy at any convenient time of the year of your choice?

Wow, wish I had your problems...

Reply   |   Comment by HMarx  –  7 years ago  –  Did you find this comment useful? yes | no (-3)

HMarx,

Sorry but you missed my point! I was looking for management / publishers to respect what we do or did depending on when you joined up. When I joined we were all about beta testing software mostly for nubie software publishers with tight budgets, the software was a respectful thank you for helping out. Some of us sent our commentary directly to the publishers as the comments were meant to benefit their products usability. I do not understand your reference to ..."to evaluate a full copy at any convenient time of the year of your choice?"... I/we provided timely results when possible whereas sometimes that is not possible in evaluating software for its Assistive Tech compatibility across the disability spectrum of operating systems and consumer attached devices. Anyway thanks for your comments and taking the time to read my comment. I might add that Win 10 blocked this product from loading on an anti virus advisory. I passed on loading it because a glitch like this is good reason not to pass a product that may foul assistive tech systems for users on tight budgets. I am not looking for myself but do advocate for publishers to consider the budget constraints of people on a fixed income budget and like many in my field I use standard billing to provide low to no cost services to people that need a break! This is what I had in mind in the prior commentary but I guess I didn't express my thoughts well enough.

All the best,
Owen

So, how is it better than AutoHotKey?

There is a fundamental problem with this kind of software.

Remembering the hotkeys that you associate with entries.

If you have a lot then you need another program to help you remember them.

This offering also doesn't, from what I can see, allow you to record text that spans multiple fields at once.

Hi, installed and registered. But when i tried to add a short cut and also the words for it, i could not set it to typer or talker. It is greyed. What is to be done to rectify. I saw the video in your home site and i hope that it is not integrated to ms word or other programs. It is a individual software, am i correct. can i expeact your idea why it is greyed

Reply   |   Comment by jraju  –  7 years ago  –  Did you find this comment useful? yes | no (+4)

Dear jraju,

Thanks for trying our software, the giveaway version offered only the auto typer not talker that's why it shows grey.
It integrates with all of text editors.

Thanks for your patience.

The derisive and and snipey comments toward other commenters are getting out of hand. The comments seem so entrenched that it's becoming obvious there is often an operative-shriller involved. Rarely do posters state their operating systems anymore as they complain about installation issues and other problems. It's becoming increasingly difficult to get to the matter at hand, which overall is whether to bother downloading and installing the gotd offering. More and more lately I don't. If we all want to assume we're all running Windows 10, that's great, but perhaps the site owners should state that at the top of each day's giveaway.

Floyd, As of this time I see three comments including yours and yours is the only "snipey" one. It doesn't matter if it is Windows 10 or windows 7 or whatever. They are all Windows and the only thing you may have to do differently to install a program, is run it as administrator. What are you complaining about?

Reply   |   Comment by Glen C  –  7 years ago  –  Did you find this comment useful? yes | no (-31)

Glen C, My main point: I was talking about the argumentative rude discourse , such as yesterday's "You're lying" and the confrontative nature of responses, such as yours right now. I guess by pointing out crudeness and sniping, and suggesting a postive change - then that automatically means to you that I'm sniping.
Of course it matters what operating system you're using. I'm not on this planet to reinvent the wheel.
If posters are using XP or Vista (which lots of posters obviously still use, like and prefer, despite being scorned by other posters responses) and report having tons of trouble installing, yet never mention their operating system, guess what? I'm much less apt to install it. Apple programs are also given out simultaneously here too. What about them? Should their installation problems affect me? Probably not. But I'd sure like to know what system they're using, to make an educated guess on how much weight I give to their generous comments on reporting the issues. Yes I do believe when a giveaway is starting, one should just go ahead and install if interested and not keep nagging people about what it is like. But when there are already lots of negative comments about installation (without stating their operating system), why would anyone want to take time installing, then spending half their morning trying to fix the possible problems being reported, when there is so much good free software available. Does that answer your question? I'll finish with your final statement to me, "What are you complaining about?

Floyd, "I guess by pointing out crudeness and sniping, and suggesting a postive change - then that automatically means to you that I'm sniping. " You did no such suggesting. Your message and intent may be genuine but the hypocrisy of it's delivery kinda drowns it out.

Floyd,
I can see why Glen C annoyed you but at least he had the courtesy to comment unlike the 14 other people who just marked you down.

There are quite a number of aspects in your comment and marking you down therefore becomes meaningless.

Reply   |   Comment by Seb  –  7 years ago  –  Did you find this comment useful? yes | no (+4)

Floyd,
I agree to some extent with what you are saying, there certain people who simply "like the sound of their own voice" and think that they are being cleaver in doing so. If someone is having a problem they should really, as you pointed out, state what os they are using, must admit I'm guilty on not always doing it myself, people should not shout others down for their (genuine) opinions ... As for those that are rude to others, GOTD should put a ban on them block them from downloading the software. Having said that when I see such comments, I usually have a good laugh tomyself at how stupid some people can be.

I'm passing on today's offering because it isn't something I use, but it does look quite interesting. Anyway, have a good day.

Reply   |   Comment by Lenny  –  7 years ago  –  Did you find this comment useful? yes | no (-2)

Floyd, I see. I don't believe I was here yesterday. I just thought you were a whining troll considering I read the comments, here TODAY, and had no idea what it was you were complaining about. I guess you just assumed everyone knew already what happened yesterday. I figure that you did the same thing others do when they don't state which OS they are running. Maybe they assume it doesn't matter. Most folks that know their way around a PC have little trouble installing something except sometimes getting it to register. The people that have trouble, a lot of times, don't know which version they have. LOL
