Free means "here, this is yours, keep it for as long as you like, do what you like with this, keep it forever or throw it away tomorrow, it is YOUR PROPERTY NOW, we will not bother you ever again".

If it were not for the few quality programs that are actually FREE, I would have abandoned this site a long time ago. 180 days is NOT FREE, anytime program designers use this ploy to trick people with a lie, I make note of them, and never ever buy their products.

Why not use the Hoxx extension. There is both free and pay versions. It works for Firefox and Chrome.

iI have been using this VPN since the last time it was offered in May. Has a fast download speed and many different servers are available from different countries. My last VPN which I paid for booted me in less than a month for violating their rules. It was HMA from AVG. You can down vote me all you want, but I think Seed4me is OK.

It says expired, because i used it months ago, didnt uninstalled it. What should i do now ?

Useless !!! BBC threw out 200.7.105.5 as being a VPN so real waste of my time. Utterly useless for using BBC iPlayer when abroad.

It doesn't hide my IPV6 address. Google shows my exact location. Only good if your ISP uses IPV4.

A proxy service relays requests from your browser, so a web site or service doesn't see your IP address, which can ID you to some extent, e.g. with cable broadband it's common to have an IP address that traces to your general area rather than home address. You can't hide or fudge [spoof] your IP address, because whatever your browser requests would never find its way back to you.

When you use the TOR Browser, traffic passes through a number of proxies, making tracking you harder, though it may be possible to match traffic from your IP with a site's traffic, & ID you that way. You also get access to the so-called Dark Web.

In both of those cases your network traffic is unprotected, so it can be captured & read. A VPN protects your traffic to the VPN service's server, using encryption. Beyond that, it acts as a proxy server, hiding your original IP address. A VPN is generally a good thing, but you probably want to be able to turn it on/off easily if you want to use PayPal or log into Amazon for example, since those services will detect the location of the server acting as proxy, determine it's probably not you, and ask for additional authentication.

Maybe the easiest way to use a VPN is to use the Opera browser & turn their free VPN on -- you'll also want to head to the settings & select Disable non-proxied UDP under the heading WebRTC. On the downside, it's probably not as robust as most stand-alone VPN services, e.g. Seed4.Me VPN, & it only protect traffic in the Opera browser, whereas a VPN service protects all web traffic, regardless the software causing that traffic.

The Seed4.Me VPN is rare in not needing proprietary software, though a download is available -- you can simply set Windows 7 or 10 to use it, or not [links to directions are on the lower right of their web pages]. What they don't say is how many servers they have -- I wish they did.

I can't find anywhere where this company is located and that makes all the difference as to whether or not the Feds can get a warrant to access their server logs, which can tell them who you are.

1. Do these servers keep personal logs?
2. Where is the company's main office?
3. How many servers do they provide?

Does not works for me, on Win 10 x64.
It is just showing a message saying "Expired".

I'll stay with Tor's browser, just download, install and use. No silliness with it. No trial period, no money, no club, doesn't expire and no one is looking over your shoulder.

As I understand it, this VPN was set up as "a club" so as to obviate the problem of too many subscribers making demands of too few servers. "Invitations" are only issued when Seed4.Me has spare capacity. It's one way of doing business, I guess, and so long as too many free subscriptions aren't given away to the detriment of paying subscribers, it ought to work.

But not for me. Though the website of this Taiwanese provider is disappointingly vague, its small-print Terms & Conditions are alarmingly specific:

Sorry to flog a dead horse but I dislike 'trial periods' without stating what the cost will be after the period expires. I did look at the publisher's website and it wasn't obviously stated. All it said was that this is a 'club' and there were very 'flexible rates' but what was most confusing was where they said (paraphrasing) that users don't 'purchase time' they 'top up the balance' and then can extend? I just don't get it -- if the terms and pricing aren't clear & simple I'm taking a pass. Appreciate the offer & sorry if I just missed the info on the website.

All VPNs will slow your connection speed somewhat depending on where the server is you're going through. ALSO, buried in their Terms of Service is this: "Seed4.Me reserves the right to install, manage and operate one or more software, monitoring or other solutions designed to assist us in identifying and/or tracking activities that we consider to be illegal or violations of these ToS's." That means they can surreptitiously install spyware on your computer to monitor your web activities. I'd prefer a VPN that doesn't spy on its customers.

At least 8 people posted about how the program was missing. Not one of these people had a single neuron in their brain firing, saying "hey, maybe I should actually READ the README file!" before coming on here to whine and complain--because if you bothered to do that, you'd know why the program is missing. It's clear that the intelligence trait is rapidly disappearing from the human genome.

Won't DL in Firefox if you have a scripted blocker.
F-Secure blocked the link as a harmful site.
Chorme DL'ed multiple instances of the program about 15 until i stopped it (bad scriped running on the link given).

This giveaway is slightly different to the others. There is no .exe to install. Instead, if you read the 'readme.txt' file, there is a link where the program (10 MB) can be downloaded.
By running this installation, there is no registration but you are granted 175 days (up to 2 Apr 2018)
You can register an account online. It requires an 'invitation number' but there is a button next to this to get a 'free' invitation number ... which negates the need for an invitation number. Bizarre.
Once you've confirmed your email address, the application (normally running in the notification area) recognises this, then adds the 175 days to your account.

Installation didn't require a reboot, and connecting to a Belgium VPN took under 5 seconds to connect.
I don't know how 'robust' this VPN is, but its OK for 'light' browsing.
