Basically a simplified wrapper for VeraCrypt -- veracrypt[.]jp
You get the best of security at the cost of losing some of the options available when you use VeraCrypt itself. Note that the VeraCrypt files are here: SecureDrive\ xa-ZN\ PA-4\ PA-3\ PA-2\ PA-1\ data\ . There is a newer version, and it *should* work to replace the relevant files ["It adds Argon2id support for non-system volumes, fixes two security issues, and includes many stability and compatibility improvements."]. I did not see anything on their website detailing what you get when you register the app, though during registration it said you're limited to 14 days using the free version. The portable version, which appears identical, does not show the upgrade button, and with the installed version the registration data is stored in the User folder, which strictly speaking would make it non-portable if you could register it. That said, not sure you'd see any limitations using the portable version.

SecureDrive PRO runs portably, without installing drivers etc. -- when you start the app it, and the included VeraCrypt software are loaded into memory and run, and will continue running until you close the app, restart Windows etc. Typically you might encrypt the system hard disk/SSD using VeraCrypt, enter your password to allow seamless access, and go on about using Windows normally, much like having BitLocker enabled. You stop the decryption when you turn the device off. In the case of an encrypted VHD, you have to manually tell it to stop, same as you'd unmount a non-encrypted VHD when you no longer want/need access.

As it works also as a portable, but it is not very safe. If I run it from a USB flash and mount it on a virtual disk and then physically remove the USB flash from the PC without dismounting, the virtual disk remains open and the data is available... When I do the same with the safetica application, windows immediately crash. And I don't know what is better?

HEERY, nice edge case scenario you've identified. There's a "Dismount on Exit" option to select when mounting. I tested it now and it works to auto dismount when the app closes, but if you force remove the flash drive with the portable install before you properly close the app, the drive will stay mounted.
I personally don't see that as an issue, and definitely not one that would keep me from using the app, but I can understand if it is a dealbreaker for others.
