Installed on two computers both using win 7x64. On one excell started loading very slow and closed out very slow. On the other word tried loading but after 24 hours still was on initial splash screen. Outlook also part of office 2013 also failed to download new mail and after 36 hours I had to force a reboot since it hung on restart. Uninstalled on both machines and that fixed my problems.

Once again as I have stated on other giveaways - people do not know how to use a computer - downloaded - installed - works with microsoft essentials - both on - registered fine - no problem! People need to learn computer first before they try anything or else your headed for disaster !!!

Dennis J. Foster, I agree. Most ppl do not understand whitelisting isnt as easy as just install it and bam! Who's going to take care of the gigabytes of files in nanoseconds. All whitelisting softwares work like this only.If people do not have the patience or understanding they can just whine for a an awesome free offer.

Created an account. Verified it form my email. However I do not understand what is the the log in ID??
While creating an account, it just asked for name, email ID and password. What is the login ID then??

Reply   |   Comment by Tushar  –  8 years ago  –  Did you find this comment useful? yes | no (-1)

Tushar,

Hi login ID is your email and password from the account you created. Use those to login from within the SecureAPlus application (after installing it). Open the main console, on the bottom click on Info & Licenses.

By then you should be in Account., from which you enter your account login (your email) and password. After a successful login the Promo Code field will be there.

You get the Promo Code from GotD. It's in the zip file they send you containing 2 files. It's on the ReadMe. Copy and paste that on the Promo Code field to claim the 2-year licenses.

Here's a screenshot on where you should be at: http://imgur.com/YVsJhMm

For those who have issues still, drop as an email during the promotion time. We'll make sure you're able to claim the 2 years premium. I hope this helps.

Terms and conditions in the txt file inside the zip

Please note that the software you download and install
during the Giveaway period comes with the following important limitations:
1) No free technical support
2) No free upgrades to future versions
3) Strictly non-commercial usage

What I mean is do we get upgrades within the 4.xx version for 2 years or we are stuck at version 4.2.1 for 2 years?

Please answer

Hey Leggo,

With SecureAPlus being a security software, we discussed this with GotD and we pointed out that we will be providing free upgrades to the latest version and email support for as long as the license is valid.

We apologize for any confusion this has caused you and rest assured that we will be supporting your use of SecureAPlus Premium throughout its license validity.

Definitely no promo code to be seen. I have opened program and it shows only;
Premium
Clean 0
Infected 0
Freemium1

So where else will this 5 pcs code show?
At least I am not the only person who cannot see the code and my time is almost expired. Help please.

Hi Robert,

I'm not sure what you mean here. Are you able to login and see this - http://imgur.com/YVsJhMm

You need to enter the Promo Code there. The Promo Code should be given by GotD, it's inside of the ReadMe file they send you along with the installer.

Greetings to GiveawayoftheDay Users,

At the time of writing, we have already responded to all those who have dropped us an email and most of them were having the same issues as the below scenarios. So to those having issues, please take the time to look through if any of the below scenarios apply to you:

1. I am getting an "Invalid Code..." error
Most likely you are entering the "Promo Code" onto the "License Code". You need to go to
Info & Licenses > Account
Login with your username and password. And only after successfully logging in from within the SecureAPlus software will the "Promo Code" field appear beside the "Redeem" button.
For reference please see the image here - http://imgur.com/YVsJhMm

2. I am unable to login to my account from within the SecureAPlus software
Chances are that you just created your account. Our system sends an automatic email containing a confirmation link. You need to go to your email, check your inbox or even your junk/spam folder and click on the link we sent you to full activate the account. Only then can you login with the account.

3. I don't see any Promo Code or Redeem Field
Chances are that you either clicked on "View on my Browser" or logged in to the portal in some other way. You need to login inside the SecureAPlus client at Info&Licenses>Account. Only by successfully logging in there will the "Promo Code" field appear inside the software itself.

4. I went to SecureAPlus > Info & Licenses > Account and there was no way for me to login - half the page was blank
At the time you experienced this, there was extremely high amount of traffic on our servers (due in part to the promotion itself) so the page didn't load correctly. Please try the process again now as the traffic is more stable now and it should load correctly. We will try to improve on this in the future should we do another promotion with GotD.

We apologize for any inconvenience or confusion caused. If you continue to encounter any problems, please contact us at secureaplus@secureage.com and we will get back to you within 24 hours (unfortunately we cannot operate 24/7 yet). Rest assured that we will help you redeem your free upgrade if you contacted us during the promotion period.

Add progress bar or anything to indicate how long it may take to finish.

Reply   |   Comment by jaco  –  8 years ago  –  Did you find this comment useful? yes | no (-3)

jaco,
The Initial Full System Scan should have a progress bar on it. After this finishes, please give it some time to finish communicating with our servers. Once that is done, regular scans should also have progress bars whenever you actively do them.

If you are still having some issues or would like some more things further, drop us an email over at secureaplus@secureage.com and we will do our best to respond to you as soon as we can.

It has not been clear what expiration date will be shown when the activation is complete. In my case, the Info and Licenses panel continues to show the Secure APlus ID and the two links (Home and View via browser), even after I have created an account via the View via browser link, which merely opened a new tab in Firefox at the website, where I did create an account.

I tried logging out from the website, rebooting, and re-entering the Info and Licenses panel, but still no place to login from the application, and therefore, no way to ever see where a promo code can be entered.

In the application, there is a "License" panel of the Info and Licenses page, which has an option to extend the license. In an attempt to figure out what I should do to find the field to enter the promo code, I clicked on the extend, and somehow got "extended" and, as a result, the License Code field was populated with a sequence that seemed to work when "applied" but the license now states that it expires on July 20, 2016. Before this operation, there was a 2017 expiration date. There was a statement displayed that says that the expiration date will revert to the Fremium date after the trial date ends, however it does not state what that date would be (would be very helpful). Does it go back to the 2017 date, or what date based on an install made today (2016-04-21)? And, since there was never a place to enter a promo code in the application itself, I expect I will not have the 2 year license, which should be a 2018 date.

Are you sure the application will in all cases show the login fields inside the application? I believe I clearly have a case where it never shows up.

Reply   |   Comment by Gary Smith  –  8 years ago  –  Did you find this comment useful? yes | no (0)

Gary Smith,

At the time when you first tried to enter the Promo Code you were doing it correctly in that you need to login from Info&Licenses > Account. Unfortunately due to the heavy traffic, some users wasn't able to load the page fully.

Now that the traffic is more stable you can try this process again, the page should load correctly now and you should be able to enter the Promo Code.

Regarding having a July 2016 expiry, this was because you inadvertently went for the Premium Trial for 3 months. Once this expires it will revert back to the original expiry date of April 2017 (based on when you first installed it on that PC).

You can still claim the promotion even while you are still on Premium Trial. If you are having issues with claiming this, please do drop us an email at secureaplus@secureage.com

Reply   |   Comment by Daniel  –  8 years ago  –  Did you find this comment useful? yes | no (-1)

Daniel ,

We did include this in the ReadMe instructions sent by GotD:

1. Unzip the package you`ve downloaded and install the software by running Setup.exe.
2. Open SecureAPlus from the Tray icon and click on Info & Licenses.
3. Login or create a SecureAPlus Account, this can be done from within the SecureAplus interface.
Users who create a new account will need to verify their account creation by checking their email and clicking on the verification link. Note that some users may need to check their bulk/spam inbox.
4. After successfully logging in from the SecureAPlus client, enter the Promo Code below in the field provided and click Redeem.
5. A confirmation message will appear, and you can also check the license by clicking on "Info&Licenses"-->"Account"-->"View via browser" under your ID window to show the new expiry date and the indication that the license is "Premium".

Our kindest apologies if it wasn't very clear and we will improve on this in the future.

it is totally ridiculous not to have a progress bar
i cannot even access the interface to start the obviously convoluted ,also ridiculous, process because the program automatically ,without my permission ,
started a scan which is still going on 5 hours later..
seriously thinking of dumping this !

Reply   |   Comment by paraic coughlan  –  8 years ago  –  Did you find this comment useful? yes | no (+7)

paraic coughlan,

The scan is both for securing your system and for creating your initial whitelist. Without it, you'd have to approve every file on your system to run. So having the Initial Full System Scan start automatically is hard requirement. Of course when you open the window you can pause it, but until it finishes the initialization process is not complete.

Admittedly this could take awhile and there are plenty of factors to it including computer specifications and the amount of files you have on your PC. Currently there is no way around it. Our team is continually working to make this process faster.

Do give it a chance to complete and let SecureAPlus fully initialize to enjoy its full capabilities. Again our kindest apologies for this to be a slow part but we believe the benefits of whitelisting outweighs the initial cost of waiting for the scan to finish.

I noticed that WInPatrol went a bit crazy after installing this. Could be a conflict somewhere. I have not seen that before with antivirus programs. Thanks for the free offer. I may email in to try to get the license issue worked out. However it will have to be on a different system.

I'm slightly confused because I have never used or set up an account with this lot yet when I'm trying to create an account it tells me I've already got an account and that the software is already registered to my account. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling using a different email and the same thing happens. After trying several times I resisted the temptation to throw my PC across the room and went to the boozer where I'm recognised and don't have an account of any description. Cheers :(

Reply   |   Comment by Resun  –  8 years ago  –  Did you find this comment useful? yes | no (0)

Resun,

If you already have an account, then you don't have to create a new one. For existing accounts all you need to do is to enter your account login (your email) and password. After logging in, just enter the Promo Code given by GotD at the "Promo Code" field.

Another reason may be because when you created the account, you haven't clicked on the confirmation link sent to your email. You have to click or visit that link in order to activate your account and be able to login with it.

Opening the program, where do I look for the version number? Also, a month ago there was a giveaway of this program... is it possible to delete it and install this new version?

Reply   |   Comment by Osborne Lamoree  –  8 years ago  –  Did you find this comment useful? yes | no (-2)

Found IT! Once the program is installed and its icon appears in the Notification Icons Area (lower right), right clicking on the icon and selecting "About" produces a window that shows version number, six ways to "connect" with the company and the URL for the Forum. I discovered that I have the same Version, 4.2.1 and have had it installed for a month. So far, so good. Upon StartUp it seems to update automatically, run its scan and then pop-up a notice saying that everything is fine. I like that it works in the background without slowing down my old laptop and no need to start it up and ask for a scan as it does that in the background. Right now I would give it a "9" and if it continues to perform like it has, maybe a reevaluation in a month or so. Bottom line: You might be having registration problems but when installed and working, it will be worth the bother.

Reply   |   Comment by Osborne Lamoree  –  8 years ago  –  Did you find this comment useful? yes | no (-2)

MORE discoveries! When opening the Program, it fits on my 17" laptop screen, BUT that important Bottom Line with all the Menu Items is completely off-screen. As this Program Menu doesn't scroll, I didn't discover it until I grabbed the top border and pulled it upward and there were six new Menu items! Suggestion... maybe sacrifice some of the white space and make the Menu an inch shorter so that the whole page shows at one time on such a screen as mine that is set for 100%. Of course being able to use these Menus, I discovered everything I need to know about this Program... a month later!

Reply   |   Comment by Osborne Lamoree  –  8 years ago  –  Did you find this comment useful? yes | no (-1)

Osborne Lamoree,

The version number is on the main window at the title bar. It should display as SecureAPlus v.4.X.X (with X being the current version you have.

You can also go to Info & Licenses > About window of the software to see the current version number along with other information about the software.

Reply   |   Comment by SecureAPlus  –  8 years ago  –  Did you find this comment useful? yes | no (-1)

Osborne Lamoree,

Thanks for the feedback. We normally get this issue from screens that have either low resolution or those with very high ones. It seems the latter and for that to happen, sometimes Windows scales the size to above 100% (maybe 125%, 150% etc.) which is why SecureAPlus is larger than it needs to be because it follows this size adjustment.

Can you let us know your screen resolution, and if you can check whether Windows is magnifying on your screen by default.

Reply   |   Comment by SecureAPlus  –  8 years ago  –  Did you find this comment useful? yes | no (-1)

SecureAPlus, I normally keep my screen magnification at 110% (poor eyesight) but even if I reduce it to 50%, the SAP screen does not change its size and the bottom row of Menu items is outta sight. I have to grab the top and slide it up to read the bottom Menus. Like I suggested, a reduction of the height would let everything show at one time. There is a lot of available vertical white space. Thanks for your comment. Screen resolution is 1440 x 900 (according to http://www.screenresolution.org/)

Please protect the process of the program ,so no malware can kill it.

The core process is protected. So if a malware does manage to kill some of its processes, it will automatically switch to a mode similar to Lockdown mode where any untrusted files will not run.

I just downloaded and installed this program. It installed fine, no problem! Tried to open an account and was sent an email for confirmation. Instructed to click on the link to confirm. PROBLEM! The link is not a link but a long convoluted URL which is not active. I copied the URL and dropped it into search. It returned "NO RESULTS"! I tried the link listed to contact them if it didn't work. That's also a URL and not a link! Copied the URL and dropped it into search and received 3800 hits without a clue as to which to use???
This project is far from ready for prime time! Sorry
I've used GOTD apps for years and never had a problem activating or registering them. On the one----- I give up!

Reply   |   Comment by Roger  –  8 years ago  –  Did you find this comment useful? yes | no (+1)

Roger,

you CAN'T search for that URL - you have to paste it into the address field. just copy it, paste it into the address bar of your browser, and hit enter.

i work in IT, and i have to say, it's surprising how much people rely on search engines, rather than just typing the address of a website into the address field. i don't understand this phenomena.

Reply   |   Comment by DS  –  8 years ago  –  Did you find this comment useful? yes | no (+4)

Roger,

Unfortunately some email clients do not display it as a clickable link due to the length. A quick fix will be to simply copy and paste it on your browser address bar and visit it. This should activate your account.

As DS pointed out, you have to visit the link, not search for it as that will not turn up any reasonable results.

If you are still having trouble, email secureaplus@secureage.com during the promotion period at GotD and we will make sure that you are able to upgrade your license.

For testing purposes I created an eicar antivirus com test file.
When accessing the file SecureAplus blocked the file as being untrusted and I got a choice window with two large blue blocks (Universal av and Virusttotal) that were not clickable.
Is this a remnant of earlier versions or can we upload to Virustotal too?
(would be nice if we could)
At the bottom there is an option to continue blocking or trust the file.

Reply   |   Comment by StrayCat  –  8 years ago  –  Did you find this comment useful? yes | no (-1)

StrayCat, That's how the program works, it has whitelisting based upon certificates by default so any unknown file will be checked by universal AV, Virustotal and then you can trust or untrust it based on the results. Furthur it will warn you of any unknown processes the file will try and create.(most malware do that)

Most reviews highly PRAISE this great product. I am shocked that the registration process is so AWFULLY CONVOLUTED. I have never had any problems with dozens of programs I have installed from GOTD. It must be either a LANGUAGE problem or a NON end-user oriented programmer. The worst. I still do not know WHY I cannot register. Patience almost gone for this nightmare... SecureAPlus

Interesting approach with more than 10 anti-virus engines, but still need a lot of improvement. Most irritating is large amount of false positives, even for some well known and 100% secure applications. And second, when You start first scan-be prepare to wait for hours.I thought that something isn't working as it supposed to,but after quick research found out that this is common issue for initial scan with SecureAPlus.(4 hours in my case). So,for now this software is far away from my choice of any layer of protection, but I like idea of more than one anti-virus engines in one package.

Since SecureAplus uses "Everything" from voidtools.com, I would suggest a shortcut to this program in the startmenu.
"Everything" is a brilliant search engine to locate files and folders by filename instantly and can be used separately.

Hey guys I am and was like the rest of you confused and wasn't sure where to put the code and ran into the same probs I have read here also but just figured it all out.
After you create your account you go to info and Licenses and you will see at the right another window where it askes for your email and password like most of you I did the same thing and figured I was already logged in because I just created my account.
But you have to reenter your email and password then the very next window will ask for you to redeem your code and that's where you put your GOTD code and it will thank you after that click on License and at the top you will see the window with a code in it and under that window will be an activate license click on that and your done.
I hope I explained this so it's understandable because like I said I was like the rest of you and kinda went round in circles and getting invalid code and all that stuff lmao! Also dont forget to do the email thing first and mine came in my junk folder so make sure you check that folder also when looking for the email from this company.
Thanks to GOTD and to secureAPlus for the proggy

Reply   |   Comment by Wolf  –  8 years ago  –  Did you find this comment useful? yes | no (+1)

Wolf, You cant enter your password if you cant create one because it tells you it already has your email on file and thinks your duplicating it so you can't create an account. Although apparently you already have one but with no password,

Reply   |   Comment by skybase  –  8 years ago  –  Did you find this comment useful? yes | no (+1)

skybase, When you get to the account window off to the right hand side you see the window where it says redeem code that's where you put the GOTD code then click on redeem and just follow it and do what it says to do at some point it will ask you for your email again after you do that check your email for a message from SecureAPlus.
It will have your code in it and remember if it's not in your inbox check junk mail thats where mine was. When you go back make sure your logged in if not log in and there will be a place for your code.
I know it's very confusing even after doing my first computer (laptop) I wanted to add my desktop and still had trouble ands had to go back to this other message to figure out what to do lol! It's not really funny but after you get it installed you have to laugh because it's like trying to break into fort knox lol.
I hope you can figure it out and if you end up with a bunch of windows open and your totally confused close all those windows and start at the beginning and keep checking the first message I wrote. Just keep looking at the right hand side top to middle of page for Redeem code and that's the GOTD code you put there then they will email you with your other code to license your proggy.
I do think there should be an easier way to license this product as it is very confusing even after you done it on your first puter.
If you get that far and you want to put on another puter in your network or that you own you pretty well start from the beginning and do it all again because you will get a different license code for each machine.
I wish the best for you and hope you can figure it out cause I don't know any other way to describe how to do this. Just keep trying you'll get it and if your getting frustrated walk away have a smoke if you smoke or a coffee then come back at it because it is doable.

Hi SecureAplus team, so I install and activate this using an account, I will get free " version" upgrades as well in 2 years? I think freemium also gets them.

During account setup program told me my e-mail was already in use. tried the Facebook sign in and program told me my Facebook account was invalid. Both are wrong, I know for a fact that I have never created an account with them before and with a Microsoft e-mail address it is impossible for there to be 2 of the same. Something not right .Uninstalled.

Installed fine on Windows 10 x64bit. However, when a first time scan is started, there is no progress bar for the scan, nor buttons to stop, pause, or resume it. In the Help section, I see this was included in an earlier version but not here.

Secondly, the tray icon does not animate so one does not know if a scan is in progress or something needs attention.

So far, I like the concept of your program but these omissions may force me to remove it.

Marc,

Based on your first comment, this is certainly unusual. Our technical team will be very interested to see this. Can you send us a screenshot at secureaplus@secureage.com

As for the animating icon. This is true and we'll take it as feedback to further improve the software.

We're glad that you appreciate the concept of SecureAPlus and hopefully you can give it a chance to protect your system by keeping it longer until we resolve your issues.

Marc, I have exactly the same experience - no progress bar and no stop or cancel buttons. So far the scan has been running for over 7 hours telling me to wait. This REALLY doesn't seem right but I dare not turn the thing off!

Kestrel,

Just sent them the screenshots of my active scan and the progress bar in the help file. Hope this helps them help us. 7 hours is way too long! Mine is still running, and I have only about 40 GB of files. Maybe they posted their beta version on the server by mistake instead of the one we both, and I am sure others, need?

Reply   |   Comment by Marc  –  8 years ago  –  Did you find this comment useful? yes | no (+1)

Kestrel,

I decided to kill the program until I hear back from SecureAge. No point in belaboring the issue of scanning. Terminating the scan did not effect my PC. However, the fact that I was able to terminate the program now raises another question about self-protection and malicious software terminating the program. I merely used ProcessExplorer, and killed it.

Again, I like the concept of using the best AV engines but questions are emerging that again I hope they can answer.

Reply   |   Comment by Marc  –  8 years ago  –  Did you find this comment useful? yes | no (+2)

Marc, Many thanks for your response. I took the risk and turned it off in the end. When I turned the computer back on this morning it resumed the initial scan!

I don't even know which drives it is checking or what it is doing, that is my main concern, I don't like things doing stuff on my computer that I don't know about or can't control.

Susan,

Chances are that you either clicked on "View on my Browser" or logged in to the portal in some other way and are trying to enter the code in your browser

You need to login inside the SecureAPlus client at Info&Licenses>Account.

Only by successfully logging in there will the "Promo Code" field appear inside the software itself. Enter the Promo Code that you have and you should get confirmation that the upgrade is successful.

To those few who are having trouble with the promotion, below are the common ones and how to resolve them:

We apologize for any inconvenience or confusion caused. If you continue to encounter any problems, please contact us at secureaplus@secureage.com and we will get back to you within 24 hours. Rest assured that we will help you redeem your free upgrade if you contacted us during the promotion period.

Copy and paste the promo code provided by GotD and click on "Redeem" you'll get a confirmation and you're new license expiry should now be on April 2018 (you may need to reopen SecureAPlus for this to be reflected).

For your reference you can find the area highlighted on the following image URL:

Softpedia posted a fairly thorough review of Secure A Plus, and gave it four out of five stars. Keep in mind that the review is eight months old and of an earlier version. But I assume this newer version is even better. Were I not already flush with security products(bitdefender, emsisoft, mbam, superantispy) I'd give Secure A Plus a try.

Why I would never ever install such unknown security software is mainly and purely due to the fact for doing guinea pig work I would expect a second machine free of charge.

We are not dealing here with a company with millions of users worldwide, currently only the English lingo is supported, no domestic offices all over the world in the major countries.

Thank you guys, nice to know you, but antivirus systems working together need a lot of fine-tuning. It is never the case the more you load your PC-system with such software the better.

Microsoft certification is the minimum requirement I have in such matters.

Reply   |   Comment by Sigrid.DE  –  8 years ago  –  Did you find this comment useful? yes | no (+8)

Sigrid.DE ,

We value your feedback and we appreciate your point of view. We do want to clarify a few things about the promotion and how SecureAPlus works.

Firstly, if you want to get it free on a 2nd machine you are free to use the activations on as many PCs you have SecureAPlus on and tag it to a single account to take full advantage of the security monitoring features of SecureAPlus Premium.

You aren't really loading multiple engines on your PC. It's all in the cloud. We leave the option for users to load as many security software that makes them comfortable along with ours which is primarily an application whitelisting software combined with cloud anti-viruses.

We currently only support English for this version but in the very near future we are opening up to more languages so do look out for that.

Lastly we do note the Microsoft Certification. Do look forward to that too in the future. :)

Reply   |   Comment by SecureAPlus  –  8 years ago  –  Did you find this comment useful? yes | no (+15)

SecureAPlus,
thank you for your friendly response although you did not quite get my point about another machine free of charge.

You know, my security software also does whitelisting of software.
However, and that is the sole point of security software it still needs to check the local computer at the time of installation and any smaller or bigger changes from thereon have to be kept an eye on and verified time and again.
How do you do your whitelisting? What software companies do you co-operate with?
I am fully aware that today your software is for free and I appreciate your generousity to let users have the priviledge of installation on more than one machine. But, apart from today, you'd normally ask for money and for the equivalent of $ 45 I can buy a renewal licence for 3 installations by the company of my trust, founded by Peter Norton way back. My previous employer (I am retired now), an American company based in Cleveland, Ohio, with manufacturing and sales facilities practically all over the globe, also uses that Sy...software (enterprise version) and you, a new kid on the block, seemingly has the nerve to charge as much as a global leader of security software?
No acknowledgements anywhere, just here we are, cloud-based, we are safeguarding your data.
Not mine. Not in this day and age :-)

Reply   |   Comment by Sigrid.DE  –  8 years ago  –  Did you find this comment useful? yes | no (0)

Sigrid.DE ,

Some clarifications on the pricing. A 2-year license for 1 PC is actually $33.80 standard price and it gets cheaper the more licenses you get and when you purchase it for 3 years.

We are aware that we are the new kid in the block, we all have to start at some point. When we priced SecureAPlus with consideration to players in the space, both new & old, direct and indirect and we arrived at where we are at now.

As you pointed out renewal price for 3 PCs at $45 per year, our pricing is fairly competitive if you take a 3-year 3-PC license for $54 (that's $6 per PC per year vs $15).

At this point nothing is set in stone and the price is still malleable. We appreciate the feedback on the price and we will definitely take it as inspiration to relook at the pricing.

Hopefully in the future you can reconsider giving us a try. :)

I had no difficulty installing or inputting the promo code. If you insert your email or use facebook click ONCE do not keep clicking the button. It takes a minute to register. You will get the error message stating that you have already registered with that email address or account.

A slow internet connection could affect your scan time. Try doing a scan offline.

"Please note: The program includes a 2-Year Premium License."
Hi, does this mean that the program is free for 2 years only?
Or that the "Premium" version will be activated for 2 years, and the program will continue to run after that as a non-premium version?
Thank you very much for the program and for the help with the above.

Hi,

Yes you can install the latest version of the program over the old version.

The free license is running concurrently with the paid one. Fortunately, it's easy to get your Freemium license extended via the Viral Security Program. Just login to your account and do some actions to help us promote SecureAPlus.

You can also help us out by purchasing a license later if you like SecureAPlus. :)

There was last year another version of this program:

Then I had trouble getting a licence: that was my fault, I did not check a box.

This year I have also trouble to get a license.
I did have a new account and logged in(checked the box) and then??
Also I did make a new account with the program running and ??
Where do I use the promo-code??

The click on "view in browser" opened the login in the program itself:

And then I could use the Redeem-code.

Interesting software. This looks like you could use it to find a stolen computer because it gives you the location information for devices with the software installed. The whitelisting feature is like Zone Alarm, which I used to use the free version of once upon a time. I recommend letting the police pick up your stolen devices though. (-;

There is a free product called HERD PROTECT which does the same using 68 antimalware engines instead of 12 as this GAOTD does....best of all it's even Portable!

http://www.herdprotect.com

It would be nice to make a comparison between this GAOTD and HerdProtect.

Reply   |   Comment by Mario  –  8 years ago  –  Did you find this comment useful? yes | no (+14)

Mario,

Good tip. We have all the respect for Herd Protect and your decision to use it.

However SecureAPlus sets itself apart in that the scanning from all 12 engines also works for real-time protection, not just scheduled and on-demand ones.

And the main value proposition of SecureAPlus is also the integration of multiple engines into a powerful application whitelisting component.

Best of all it also works with Herd Protect and any other security software. Everybody wins. :)

Reply   |   Comment by SecureAPlus  –  8 years ago  –  Did you find this comment useful? yes | no (+24)

SecureAPlus,

Many thanks to your reply!
My concern about HerdProtect is the high False positive rate, since 68 engines are too much in my view. What do you make of that? But it's portable, unlike your software....so how about make a portable version of Secureaplus?
I also have a software called "Watchdog Malware" (a rebrand version of Zemana Antimalware) which uses 6 scan engines, so don't know what to do now, taking into account that my PC is protected with Webroot Anywhere Antivirus (not really easy to uninstall it).
Anyway thanks for your support.

Hello, I am a bit confused about the antivirus thing. I have Windows defender on my computer already installed. On the offline antivirus, universal av and real time scanning in your app which to I keep on and which do I turn off? I just don't want any mess ups between the antivirus I have and your app. Thank you

Reply   |   Comment by bunny  –  8 years ago  –  Did you find this comment useful? yes | no (-1)

bunny,

It only boils down to the Offline AV. If you want to use ours, leave it on, Windows Defender should turn off automatically (if not you'll need to disable it). If you prefer to continue using Windows Defender, then turn off the Offline AV in the settings.

Universal AV is in the cloud so this should not interfere with your preferred offline AV solution. Real-time scanning is a setting for both. As long as you have at least Universal AV on, you should also leave this on.

Tommy ,

There shouldn't be any issues with using this with Zemana.

As for Webroot, there might be a notable slowdown users with Webroot SecureAnywhere experiences after installing SecureAPlus. In order to resolve this, it is best to install SecureAPlus prior to installing WebRoot Secure Anywhere.

So if you've already installed it and activated it, you can simply uninstall both and install SecureAPlus first and then Webroot. No worries about the license activation, as if it's the same PC there shouldn't be any issues even if you reinstall SecureAPlus.
