Secret Messager Pro is a software which is designed to encrypt your messages before you send them. If you would like to send message online, then you should not worry on how you can prevent unauthorized access to the messages. There are some people out there who are eager to hack your messaging account and read the information you are trying to send. The program generates encryption images which hide your message before you can send. The send will have to receive the key generated upon message encryption before he or she can read your message.

Secret Messages
The feature allows you to encrypt messages before you can send them. There are different types of messages you send online using your internet enabled computer but you would like them to stay secure, the tool allows you to generate encrypted messages before you can send them.
Secret Files
It allows you to encrypt files with AES256 tool before you can send them. Before the files have been encrypted, you need to generate a secret key which can be used to decrypt them. The tool works in a straight forward way allowing you encrypt and decrypt files.

If someone is able to intercept your email, then wouldn't they also be able to intercept the key code?

M. Aronson, So do not send the encrypted message together with the key.
That's the same as having a safe with the key on top of it.
Send the key in a different mail or better by another communication, sms, twitter . . .
Or refer to something only you both know, first dog, first contact . . .

M. Aronson, YES if you send it by eMail. You must have a secondary way such as Signal or encypted SMS to send the key to the receiver. But I still would not trust this software, unless it is tested to make sure it doesn't leak data to the developer or a third party.

I do not like that it has to have the encrypted data completely intact or else the decryption aborts without producing any results at all, even if just the final character has been lost due to truncation like happened to Ootje encrypted text... the comment formatting routines truncated the line of encoded encrypted text so we cannot decrypt it using the key provided.

Ootje, Hi, Dear. The encrypted messages/files by offline software could be decrypted soon by our online service.

Reply   |   Comment by Shane Steven  –  3 months ago  –  Did you find this comment useful? yes | no (+1)

Shane Steven, The online service could not decrypt the code?
Why, is there a differences between encrypting on-line and off-line; different protocols? Why??

Reply   |   Comment by Ootje  –  3 months ago  –  Did you find this comment useful? yes | no (0)

Ootje, Hi, Dear. Yes. For some reasons, if you encrypt messages/files by offline software, you should decrypt it with the offline software either. It is the same with the online service. You encrypt online, then you decrypt online.

We will update our program to make it cross-platform. Please hold on. Thanks.

Shane Steven, So for now you have to buy at least two packages; one for the sender and one for the receiver.
And if you send just 1 message to someone else(third person), that person has also to buy it($19.95), just for reading 1 message.

Reply   |   Comment by Ootje  –  3 months ago  –  Did you find this comment useful? yes | no (0)

Ootje, Get Signal.

It covers all the bases, is cross-platform, has been vetted by many different professionals in the security and encryption industry and is guaranteed to be secure. Best of all, it's FREE and has always been.

I don't like the fact that the send and receiver should be using the same software. Since this is a limited time offer, I could not expect to be able to gather a list of people this very same day and ask them to download it. What if I think of someone a few days later that I might want to send encrypted messages. I am screwed by then. The receiver of the encrypted message should be able to enter the decryption code to be able to see the message no matter what platform is used. Most people have more other important tasks to do before downloading this time limited software before the time limit expires. Therefore, I do not feel that this is a software worth downloading.

There is a "portable" version of this on their website

http://secretmessages.online/download/SecretMessagerPro_Portable_2.0.0.zip

which accepts the giveaway key BUT it's not truely portable as once it is registered it does not store the registration data in any file within the "portable" programs folder. It stores it in the file:

%AppData%\secretmessages\secretmessager.dat

So one would have to register it on each new machine to use it registered.

But even without activation it should be usable to decrypt encrypted and encoded text coppied from social media posts.

First of all, never use a free or paid, web-based service for securing your messages.
The simplest way for such a task is to compress the file with WinRar, 7-zip, Archiver etc., using a secure password of let say some 13 numbers, symbols, upper and lower case characters.

Luis, Yes. You are right. So http://secretmessages.online provides online service and offline software(Win/Mac) for users to encrypt/decrypt messages/files. It all depends on the users' need. More importantly, the promoted SecretMessager Pro software could be able to hide messages in images. It is a useful feature.

Most not both the sender and receiver install this software to be able to use it? Or can the receiver decrypt online?

Reply   |   Comment by Leif Oliversen  –  3 months ago  –  Did you find this comment useful? yes | no (+11)

Leif Oliversen, In the current version, both sender and receiver should install the same software. But soon, it will be able to cross-platform. Besides, decryption is free to use.

Leif Oliversen, When I tried this software a month ago, the online version could not decrypt messages that were encrypted by the software. My guess is that it is better for sender and receiver to use the same online version for compatibility.

Reply   |   Comment by Jim  –  3 months ago  –  Did you find this comment useful? yes | no (+2)

Susan, is the encryption and decryption done solely within the web pages script or does it submit the plain text or encrypted text and passphrases to their server so the backend scripts perform the encryption of the plain text or decryption of the enctrypted text in order to provide the plain text? So the server owners potentially get to keep the users passphrases and plain text they submit or that gets decrypted? If so why should anyone be comfortable sharing their secrets with the site you mention?

Shane Steven, when this software becomes cross-platform will there be an offer for a free update, or will users have to pay for it?

Chighisskhan, I suspect the problem may be produced by the DNS record for their single MX server record of
secretmessages.online MX (Mail Exchanger) Priority: 10 igw5002.site4now.net

Query for igw5002.site4now.net type=255 class=1
igw5002.site4now.net A (Address) 208.118.63.21
igw5002.site4now.net A (Address) 208.118.63.144
igw5002.site4now.net A (Address) 208.118.63.23
igw5002.site4now.net A (Address) 208.118.63.146
igw5002.site4now.net A (Address) 208.118.63.12
igw5002.site4now.net A (Address) 208.118.63.103
igw5002.site4now.net A (Address) 208.118.63.17
igw5002.site4now.net A (Address) 208.118.63.145
igw5002.site4now.net A (Address) 208.118.63.5
igw5002.site4now.net A (Address) 208.118.63.16

I can find no advice recommending the use of multiple A records on a MX servers domain to provide resilance... the proper way to provide resiliance is via multiple MX records to unique domains with a priority value to tell the sending server the order of preference from primary to backup Mail eXchange servers. This use of multiple A records on a single MX record breaks the resilance designed into SMTP protocol.
In my experience multiple A records on a server is a crude way to load share but provides no explicit resiliance or backup server retries as it's a kludge at best. I know what I would do if I was managing their domain... I would rDNS each A record IP number and then create prioritised MX entries for each of the real subdomains for each individual SMTP relay.
