Installed flawlessly on both a 64 bit Windows 10 Home desktop and 32 bit Window 10 Home laptop. Have recorded 3 training videos already and this works incredibly well, recording both video and audio perfectly. Thank you so much. I've been looking for something like this which is easy to use and reliable and it meets my needs perfectly. The only thing I had to get used to was that if you try to capture a screenshot using SHIFT-PRNTSCRN you have to use the "copy to clipboard" icon before being able to paste into Paint or other editing software. Once I figured that out, I'm fine with it intercepting my screen capture request. Just takes a little getting used to. I highly recommend this software and will be using it often.

As of right now, listed are 77 "yes" votes and 31 "no" votes, yet of the 39 comments shown, only 5 by my count are fully positive. I wish that more people who download these programs would take the time to give their opinion either way, since, as of right now, reading all the negatives, there is no way I will bother to even try this out.

I tried to record a video on my computer and tried to record it but I do not have a sound problem as it is said to be a good record I made a beautiful recording and there is no sound problem I found the program very successful in other features programa no problem in the program,

If you are willing to pay, then Camtasia & Snagit (both from TechSmith) are the best.
..
If you are looking for free versions, there are some.
e.g. Camstudio (originally by RenderSoft but now is Open Source)
..
The screen recorder giveaway software in the past are pretty good.
e.g.
Snowfox
Ice Cream
ZD Soft
Movavi

This one (Screen Recorder Studio Pro by ManiacTools)? Think I will skip.
Does not look good enough. See the other user comments here.

I have several of these programs including one I paid for that works pretty well. Even the free ones do okay for being free. But I'm always willing to give things a try so I installed this. Like someone else, I too had trouble with it recognizing my PC audio. Did fine with the microphone recording, but that's useless if you need the screen audio. Of all the programs I've had, this is the first one that had that problem. Uninstalling but thanks anyway.

Although my PC is getting on in years, it seems to work well enough - with one problem; I cannot get it to record any audio!

Under Recording settings both sound sources are for microphone, and under Sound recording mode I see Without sound, System sounds, Microphone, and System sounds and microphone. None of which result in audio being captured.

My PC has an external sound unit (Roland UA-4FX) for music composition, but this poses no problems for the likes of Adobe Audition or Audacity, both of which record without issue. It's like this software is failing to see the available audio hardware on the system.

Any suggestions would be appreciated, in all other respects it looks a nice piece of software.

I dl and installed it. It recorded a beautiful video. But the sound was missing. I have 3 choices to direct the sound and none worked. 1 thru the system and 2 thru the gpu (nvidia 750ti). Fix the sound issue and I can deal with lack of output control and no second monitor recording.

I should clarify. I did get it to install but when I run it, it freezes. I have to restart the computer to do anything or wait for the restart.

Hey Gang,
Just installed and thought I'd pass this on:

To get it registered you will need to do 4 things:
1. Turn off your antivirus shield(s)
2. Close the Screen recorder program
3. Close the still active screen recorder process <<<<< Important
4. Lastly, right click on Activate.exe and run as administrator

I found #3 to be necessary, yet it was not mentioned in the readme
It will NOT register if the process is still active.

Downloaded, installed it, ran the program to register it. It failed to register it and when I clicked on the program it would appear on my task bar but would not open. Tried a reinstall and re-register same thing. Uninstalled it.

Worked fine. The only thing I'd like to see is an option to drop screenshots right to a folder with hotkeys like Greenshot instead of the hotkeys going straight to https. You can hit the little download icon and drop screenshots to HDD but not just with the hotkeys that I see.

I've tried using the help page by right-clicking the program's icon in the taskbar, but it takes me to http://www.medianizer.com/?ref=screen-help&version=1.2, which is a book and movie organizer of some sort. The reason for needing help is after installing this program and running it, all I get is a black rectangle in the middle of my screen. I can access the settings via right-clicking the app's icon in the taskbar, but there doesn't seem to be a GUI. Please help!

Mike, which version of Windows are you using? Please contact our support.

Black rectangle is likely the webcam feed. There should be also a frame and various controls.

No, it's an installed program.

> # Can it be used unlimited for personal use?

Yes, the GOTD version offers the benefits of the premium version, like unlimited video recording etc.

Installed easily on Win 8 machine. Tested it and it worked great. I had to figure out to turn off the webcam (which I do not have), which showed as a small window in the video. I did not see any jerkiness in the video. Very happy. Thanks GOTD

PW, yeah I still can't figure out how to remove the webcam box but it must be in Settings. Mind is jerky or do they call it 'dropping frames'? But it does seem better than many other apps out there so thank you GOTD and dziekuje to the (I think) Polish software devs.

I use OBS open broadcaster software, not only can it record screen activity but it is very much like a small tv studio for your desktop. It's always free.

Check out all the bells and whistles here https://obsproject.com/ and if it looks like what you want download it.

Win 7 Ult, 64 bit, ==Installed like the old days with the Activate Key, good to see. Sadly, the program will not open. It presents a 2inch square box with compressed black and white squiggles.

Uninstalled.//// Reinstalled. Same deal. The single click install works fine while the normal install process does not have any options for crapware....so use the single click.

I'll uninstall again and hope the Provider knows of this error?

алексей, ("I do not understand how to activate? The activator exe does not run.")
Вы закрыли приложение перед запуском exe-файла активатора?
(Did you close the app before running the activator exe file?)

PS
I have my own problems with this sort of screen recorder app - as usual, everything recorded seems to be noticably jerky (like frames are missing) and not smooth. It seems few if any apps allow me on my setup to record the desktop with a smooth flow of movement and no lag or jerkiness.

Reply   |   Comment by bookman  –  6 years ago  –  Did you find this comment useful? yes | no (+8)

bookman,

"I have my own problems with this sort of screen recorder app - as usual, everything recorded seems to be noticably jerky (like frames are missing) and not smooth."

The entire process can matter more than the app you've chosen.

To record smooth, 24 - 60 fps video from your screen, there are basically 3 steps that have to happen, & problems can occur at any one of them. You will also have problems if your hardware is using almost all of it's capabilities or resources to display what's on-screen in the 1st place, with little or nothing left to accomplish the recording. It's common for software to want to use the graphics processor [GPU] for both display & the recording process -- one or both of those processes may not work well, because the GPU itself is too limited in horsepower, &/or you may not be able to use the GPU for both at the same time.

The 1st step is capturing what's on-screen, & that's usually the easiest of the 3 -- if there's a problem here it might sometimes help [when it's possible] to change the way software renders whatever's on-screen, changing the default Direct Show Video Renderer for example.

The 2nd step, compressing & encoding the video, requires both horsepower & efficiency. Ideally you want to be able to use your choice of encoder, so that you can use something very efficient like the old HuffYUV. Some encoders use the GPU, which is fine if/when it doesn't interfere with using the GPU to render what's on-screen. Note 1: if you use a Direct Show encoder, every one of the separate components used must play well together, which can become a nightmare if for example you've added a lot of DS video apps &/or a codec pack. Note 2: 32 bit encoders are OK if you're using 64 bit Windows -- use what works best for you. Note 3: if you get stuck trying to use the old, inefficient Windows WMV encoder, encoder settings that can only be made in the registry may help. Google.

The 3rd step, writing the video to your hard drive, may be the most difficult. You need a fast drive -- using a 2nd physical drive for the target [not the one with Windows on it] helps, as does using a SSD &/or RAID. As, or maybe more important, nothing should interfere with the smooth, uninterrupted flow of data, so no AV scanning, & a minimum of other software processes &/or services running at the time. If the data doesn't get written to the drive as fast as it's provided by the encoder, the encoder can't process more video, and you will get frame drops. This can pose a problem if you're trying to capture something at 1080p or higher -- unless it's highly compressed, it's a huge amount of data to write to the drive, so you either have to have a Very fast drive or drives [RAID], or an encoder that does a Lot of compression, e.g. AVC, which also normally takes a lot of processing horsepower, & tends to be slow. And that's why game capture cards & boxes with their own encoding chips are popular.
