This statement is included in the Price: field on today's GOTD: "Please note that you have to install it before the Giveaway offer for Notables is over." I missed the GOTD January 6, but I'm presuming that this same statement (only applicable to Romeo) was in the Price field the day you downloaded Romeo. :-\

So what's the story? You download something when it's offered and a couple of days later want to install it and the setup file says "Giveaway period for this software is over, please check our website for a new giveaway". What bollocks, either the file is free to download on that day or it isn't. The date you first install it should not matter.

Sounds like the same crap a scammer would pull.

Hey everyone (and Slava too...) when I installed Romeo Burner, I loved it! HOWEVER...I accidentally chose not to have the Romeo Burner Projects folder shown on my desktop...I know you can get to it from My Documents, but how do I get it to show on my desktop? The problem is that My computer says that it already is on my desktop, just that it won't show. Thanks to whoever helps me!

The FileDrive client included in the package is licensed under the GNU GPL. You don't have to pay for Romeo in order to use it and mount images like disks. In fact, this package may violate the GPL because all distributions of GPL'ed software must be freely distributable, and this program checks Giveawayoftheday before install.

I've installed Romeo and haven't had a chance to burn actual CDs with it, but it seems to have a nice clean interface.

#68, great suggestion for myself; I'm starting to dislike Nero more and more; This gives me the reason to switch to Romeo. It'd be better if it were directly included however, and the $70 for both places this out of the 'affordable' range I've set for my customers, and simple is out of the question ATM. I --WILL-- suggest this app, if they don't need image burning facilities. Thanks :)

Finally got it to the registration point. All is well. It is easy to use and understand. My first and only CD burned perfectly. I really like it. However it also froze up my system . Had to do an illegal shutdown because even the C-A-D wouldn't work. Only did it once and when I rebooted it was perfect. All said I feel it is a good program. Thank you.

I'm using WinME and have tried several times to install this but get the same "Unable to register the DLL/OCX. Load library failed; Code 31" message toward the end that #36 reported. I'm now thinking that it doesn't work under ME as claimed or they didn't include the requisite DLL. Darn, this sounded good too.

"Alhamdullah" is used colloquially as an expression of general happiness, in the same way that an American might shout "Halleluyah" (which, in the event you don't know, literally means "Praise God!") with no religious intent when he hears good news or when he gets a raise. It's not an attempt to impose Islam on anyone nor religion at all, for that matter. No more sinister than saying "God bless you" when someone sneezes. I've even heard aetheists say "God bless you" in such an instance - in our culture it's just an expression. Someone from another culture might feel that there's a religious message in it, but for most people it's used purely out of habit.

Likewise some here have read something into Dhawa's expression of glee that isn't there (although she may indeed be thankful to God that he's given her the opportunity to enjoy this software in good health!). More importantly, she is certainly not sending an anti-Christian, nor anti-anything, message.

When you log on to the 'net you're voluntarily joining a global community. We all have to be sensitive to the fact that not everyone expresses things in the same way and we must give people the benefit of the doubt. When someone is trying to say something truly offensive they usually succeed. Unless the content of someone's message is aggressive you can generally count on them not having meant to offend you.

Nice and clean install.
On the intial install I unmarked the choice for Virtual Drive creation, as I was not sure I did not want to install a drive without first seen what the prgm look like.
Since It seems a nice prgm that will keep went back to options to install the virtual drive but surprise, the pgm has no options or tools, anybody has an idea on how to install this extra option I left out initially.
thanks
David

Romeo Burner does not function on WinME. The dll fails to register as per comment #63 so no shell integration and also fails to find functioning drives, again as per comment #63.

I didn't bother to test it with a USB device as I dis-installed it anyway.

The developer should be criticized if they claim compatibilty with Win98 and WinME, both still widely used.

I make it a personal goal to never get involved in politics or religion - so I'm not going to comment. Nobody cares what I think about it anyway.

People DO care what we think about the software and that's what they come here for.

Thanks in any language you would like to hear it in. From the Great American Melting Pot - I always appreciate your hard work and have bought from your links due to finding your site. Just wanted you to know it is working.

I had problems booting up my computer after installing this software. Fortunately, I was able to use GoBack to restore my system. No one else seems to have experienced this problem so it is possibly related to my own system setup, but it's the first time any software has caused this problem on my machine...

I found the popup, it was buried under 3 other windows, including a couple that the installer made, and it was apparently spawned *after* the installation was finished. That should probably be tightened up, interfacewise.

Nero irritates me so I'm going to give this one a go!

Thanks GOTD, you guys are awesome.

Some of the folks who comment on this site need to leave Dhawa alone. S/he never says anything offensive to anyone who isnt a bigot, and never fails to thank GOTD for their awesome and FREE service...unlike many, many commenters, some of whom seem intent on doing nothing but complaining and putting others down. I am extremely anti-religion, and I find nothing whatsoever offensive in any way about any of Dhawa's posts.

If you who criticise and seek to suppress prefer to live in a place that censors and restricts you from living the life you wish to lead, as some of you seem so willing to do to others, perhaps you should consider moving to a country whose abusive government more suits your personal style. There are many to choose from in many different regions of the globe. I'm sure you'll come up with something. Otherwise, live and let live. Shame on you.

Peace.

Sorry, but i cant understand u people.

1) GOTD has nothing got to do with Islam. This is a good software website.

2) I am not here to post any pseudo-islamic stuffs. I say thanks the way i say. In Italy they say, Gracias and in France they say Merci and in Britian they say Thanks. So just saying thanks the way it does not offend anyone. If people have problem with it, then I am sorry because these people does not seem to have any democratic values.

3) And yes, Bush says always God bless America. This is the way he says, even if he travels to Europe!!! This is his way, and this is my way of thanking!

RTFM, people! (That is, Read The Friendly Manual or the instructions that come with it.)

NO Virus, NO key logger - clean as a whistle and SUPER fast!

Highly recommended.

This one's okay for people who want 'standard' features, such as data disk making, ISO (and ONLY ISO) burning and such. No support .cue/.bin or any of the other combinations. I used it this morning, and I do like it, it just does not suit my needs. With a $40 price tag, I can not recommend this software. This is the primary purpose of myself coming to this website actually -- Review cheaper software that freeware may not cover QUITE enough, for my clients. I am a small-town computer consultant, and cover a LOT of people. Many of these people, like me, can't warrant dishing out $100 - $1500 for software, and sometimes freeware's quality is less than desired. I LOVED this site because it give me a chance to play with programs which are under $50 for clients (Their favorite pricepoint) and build a list of software that I can help clients purchase.

Now, with this program, I can not recommend it to clients. Sure, it's easy, but the lack of features that my clients need are lacking. With this price-point, I needed to see more advanced features. For this, freeware wins out; specifically, CDBurnerXP Pro (Won't link for respect of GOTD :) ) -- SnapFiles and its members alike both rate is 5/5, and many other sites rave about it. It has more features than this app, it's stable, and free. It doesn't cover all the features I need, but it sure covers my clients.

To the author of Romeo Burner: I recommend downloading CDBurnerXP Pro. NOT to see how to improve your UI; I love your UI and simplicity. Look at the featureset it has, add what you're missing, and then throw in 5-10 other features that the likes of Nero has; IE:- Other CD image file formats besides ISO, and I --WILL-- personally sell your application. Many of my customers are leery of freeware -- Common quotes: 'Well, why is it free?', 'How good can free be?', 'Why would anyone make free?' -- Well I know these answers, but many can't get the idea of 'freeware' and figure they're getting crap software. For those, I would rather have them come here and buy a $40 app that they will go gah over 'compared to freeware', but not the price sticker of other apps that make them do 'ung' and hide their checkbook.

Hope this helps!
P.S. If you want GOTD, I can compare the two apps fully for you, but I want to give this app a chance; I like it for it's sheer simplicity and ease-of-use, virtual drive (Which is one up on CDBurnerXP Pro) and it does have some features not found in other cheaper packages. Just lacks some.

The activate.exe and setup files are combined into one single file for this one. After installation is finished, it will give you the registration name and code for it. (You must enter "Giveawayoftheday" with the capital "G" as the username). This program doesn't seems to have the ability to burn mp3 files to into an audio cd.

Think of it this way if it continues to bother you.

You really like ham. Better than any other sliced meat. So much so that instead of using a phrase like "pure gold" you say "all ham". You have a best friend. Her name is Delilah.

She asks you, "How was the Giveaway of the Day today?"
You reply, "All ham, Delilah!!!!!!"

That means this it is great stuff!

Personally, I believe "Allhamdullilah" in comments doesn't brand any site as Islamic, just like "Merry Christmas" doesn't make a Catholic web site or something like that.
