Hello,
yesterday I took advantage of the promotion of ByteScout QRcode Generator / business version / and installed it on my computer with OS WINDOWS 10.
My worries are that I can't perform the action COPY / PASTE by right-clicking on the interface of your program.
While doing this action anywhere on my computer !?
When I send emails or text messages to another person, these messages
are encrypted using the ByteScout QRcode Generator, on the other side. . . how will they be able to decode them?

This is another app where the devs are living in the past and believe the C drive in the center of the universe. The install logic does not allow the user to choose where (i.e. what drive) the app is to be installed. The app is installed on the C drive and you don't get a choice in the matter. My C drive is an SSD and is reserved for the OS and apps that are resource intensive and/or used frequently. Regrettably, uninstalled.

D J, Before anyone says anything about redirects, yes I know what they are. But to me, this apps not worth it and why should I have to go to the trouble to create redirects when a change in the install logic would fix this issue.

D J, I can't agree with you more but in world where the ever arrogant Microsoft, Google etc. do the same I doubt anything will change. I don't know what planet they live on. Linux Mint is just so much easier than Windows.

D J,

I was able to select the installation drive when I installed, but there was some strangeness to the whole process. When I initially ran the installer and selected "I agree" to the terms, I thought at first that the software just installed and ran itself with no prompting at all.

Apparently what happened to me was that it had just automatically executed the software as a "Portable" version; it never actually installed anything, except for dumping itself onto my C: drive. I ended up running the installer again, and I was able to choose the type of install (portable, for me only, for all users, etc.), and where to install it this time.

I wonder if that is what happened to you? It was the strangest thing I'd ever seen. Like you, I was initially very disgusted the there were no prompts at all allowing me to keep the "install" off my SSD C: drive.

FeMaster, You at least were offered a prompt regarding the type of install. I received NONE whatsoever as to the type or where to install. I, too, ran the installer a second time, same result. This was on a WIN 7 64bit desktop with an Intel I-5 chip. Uninstalled.

As everyone else said, can't print, gives a blank dialog box.

I do have to question what exactly is included in this software besides a barcode generator? I mean seriously, there is nothing to this software at all, yet it has an installed footprint of 188MB! A barcode generator shouldn't need to be more than a few MB total.

Like many others I find that "Print" doesn't work. Opens a blank white box.
Sure I can print it via "download" and use the print instruction from imaging software, but this is supposed to print from the app...or why have the option available?

No program screenshots on their homepage?
Does it allow/support images inside QR codes?

Thanks for the offer.

However, I hate when the SW installs itself whereever IT likes, instead of asking ME where to install. Not Nice!

I had to search several directories in different ways to finally find it in Pragoma Files as
ByteScoutQrcodeBarcodeGenerator

In the future when I want to find it, it will be same hassle. I like to select WHERE I want it installed, and rename it like "QR code generator Bytescout" so I can always find it easily.

GAOTD - please ask SW vendors to give this option to customers.

Paint will open the file so you can print, but will need to be resized even though it looks small on the screen, it takes up most of a 8X11 page when printed.

Installed Win 10 64 Bit, works but will not print. You have to download and then print. If the software offers printing capabilities then printing should work, just get blank screen when print tab is clicked on.

Installed and activated.
How do you export as an image? The only way I can get the image is to use the Snip app & save as jpg.
Also, print function does not work for me either, as previous commenter mentioned. Goes to blank print window in printer dialog box.

Interesting that the license info on the download page says:

I use QR codes a lot, generated by online tools, but this works fine, and is very easy to use. It takes literally a second to generate a QR code from a URL.

Installed and activated but print function is not working . Also after download which SW need to print or open. ?

Reply   |   Comment by ROSEDXB  –  3 years ago  –  Did you find this comment useful? yes | no (+11)

ROSEDXB,

1) Printing is probably a bug... It just opens a window, but never asks which printer to use!

2) If you download the image, it saves as a PNG file...
It can be opened with a web browser or MSPAINT...

bob,
what has MS support to do with the OS-reqs posted for the app...?
btw, should one have the desire to, one could still use win95 and it would be none of your business...

bob, Get with the times and move up to Windows 10.

Reply   |   Comment by buckoooo  –  3 years ago  –  Did you find this comment useful? yes | no (+4)

bob, Unsupported just means Microsoft stopped fixing it and no body will help if you call them. It does not mean that the software stops working. By the way, I still have a computer using Win95/98 because I have some software that was abandoned and never updated to a better operating system.

Reply   |   Comment by Mark Shultise  –  3 years ago  –  Did you find this comment useful? yes | no (+1)

bob, Microsoft is a little shady. When the first MS version came out, they claimed that software for older versions would always work on any future version. Obviously, they lied. Being a corporation they were not punished for that lie. To this day corporations still sell computers and then make you purchase software so it will function. Opensource is the way to go and there are several open source QR programs freely available that function better than a for profit program. Free but broken is not a good deal for this program

bob, "Vista came out in 2007 and has been unsupported by Microsoft for over a year. Get with the times and move up to Windows 7."

You don't seen to be very good at this... Even though all of this is 100% irrelevant to the original posters point, I thought I'd point out the flaws in your post as well.

Vista came out in _2006_ and has been unsupported for nearly 3-1/2 years. Windows 7 came out in _2009_ and has been unsupported for 8 months. Get with the times and move up to Windows 10.

I was commenting on the fact that a program created to run on Win 7 or any version that is older should work on Win 10 because Microsoft said it would. In reality it will not making them appear to be tellers of untruth. By their own words any program written for earlier version should work on any newer version of Windows. On my Win 10 the QR program it won't even work when it is run in a Win 7 compatibility mode which it should.

what is the difference between this version and the giveaway last month
BarcodeGenerator62

Reply   |   Comment by EDDIE  –  3 years ago  –  Did you find this comment useful? yes | no (+4)

EDDIE,

Good question. Maybe that this generates ONLY QR codes for the same price?

And how is it different from their own free online QR generator? I think they need to put a bit more thought into providing some more comparison in the description.

Reply   |   Comment by HMarx  –  3 years ago  –  Did you find this comment useful? yes | no (+4)

EDDIE,
Last months (6.2) can generate many formats of bar codes

This version (QR 1.0) only does QR codes, but has templates for creating various content (e.g. URL, EMail, VCard, etc.)

If all you need is a quick QR code to put on a website, or business card this version is quicker & easier!
