I never reached to receive a license key for this program yesterday, sinning to get me a little dull in there.

I really like it, my laptop is not working quite so hard and is much quieter :) Not really concerned about the ifs and buts if everything is functioning better than before without the strain. I was shocked when I first saw all of the information that microsoft stored about me.

Wow I am so glad I did a system restore before I installed this program. It is the worse program I have ever installed. I followed all instructions got key and activated on win 10.
Then had to restart made me redo a new 6 digit pin right off the bat. Then I tried to go online and it would not let me go to my msn homepage. I could go to google and it made it so it took 4 times the amount of time to load page.
Didn't matter where I went it took forever to load a page tried to go again to my MSN page nope won't let me.
After a few other things I said screw that restored computer and uninstalled program.

CREATE A RESTORE POINT BEFORE INSTALLING THIS!!

Just offering that tip as I tried this the last time it was given away. I found the setup process through the GUI convoluted and afterwards my PC started acting oddly.

Installed and activated fine on my Windows 10 Pro with to delay or other problems. I just followed the directions in the readme file. Perhaps people having trouble are downloading it not with Windows 10?

Has a lot of selectable items it can disable and is fast. It also can make a system restore point (selectable).

I am wondering about two things,
1. On the top right of the program it says "Windows 10 Pro 64-bit". I'm running 32 bit. There was no choice of 32 or 64 bit software.
2. On the bottom of the program it says "PROMO".

Thank you for this program.

Was going to purchase but why do you need my phone number, address and work details if I am just downloading? Sorry I have no trust in anyone needing so much unnecessary information.

Denis Calvert,

I didn't have a page pop up to give all that info. But if it had I wouldn't have given it either.

Windows Search forms an integral part of MS Office Outlook's searching capabilities and its search of emails will not function if Windows Search is disabled! Unless you have switched over to Office 365, this is bad advice.

SoftOrbit has never let me down, their methods of registration are always easy and complete,
thank you SoftOrbit.
Giveaway I suggest others to follow their ways, once you put your email and fill in your detail, the key is immediately popup,
other company they after filling their forms, you won't get the license or sometimes send you key while giveaway period is over, and when you try to register with that late came license, you are told giveaway period is over.
The other company I would like to acknowledge here which has no complication on their software registration is Ashampoo!

A WORD OF CAUTION...! This company has a very NASTY habit of turning itself to unregistered and cutting you totally off from using it again, it has happened with their other line of products, hence, according to "them" a way to have a control over the usage of their "free" giveaways. Just right down unprofessional and mean...!

Confused. It says that the program is 40 bucks, but free for users today. Then you read to the bottom, and it offers a unlimited personal license for 70% off.

Worse, there are plenty of people having trouble getting the code, and some get theirs, but the software is expired.

Once again, people having trouble understanding the meaning of FREE.

No thanks, I will pass, no input from me, other than honor the concept of "give away".

Reply   |   Comment by Anthony  –  6 years ago  –  Did you find this comment useful? yes | no (+30)

The program is normally $40 but free here today. As with most programs given away here, they do not include updates or support. If one wants to purchase a lifetime license, that includes support and updates, it is $12.00 through that link, a 70% discount off the regular $40 price.

I'm not recommending this software, just trying to clear that up since you said you found it confusing.

jboy,

Thanks for clearing that up, I have passed on this offering, based mostly on all the troubles others have had installing/activating this software. Hopefully your reply was posted in a timely fashion to help others make their decision on this one, that is the point of these comments/replies anyway.

Prog after starting the installation program immediately wants to connect to a server, alas the server seems unreachable even after I disabled the Firewall. Too much trouble, too many hoops to jump through.

Downloaded and installed without any problems on Win 10 (x64), registration code received very quickly. Very easy to setup and use, nice clean GUI.

I am still waiting for the registration email an hour after submitting the request. And before anyone says the obvious it is not in the spam folder.

FredBloggs, I could read the code on the site:
I did ask for a code in the past and therefore my mail-adres is already know:

It's a good piece of code, but programs like this can do more harm than good.
The last time I used one of them, my OS started behaving oddily (for instance the Start Menu no longer worked), forcing me to reinstall it.
So stay away from programs like this: it's much better and safer turn off settings via Windows.

After going through the hoops, and entering my registration code, I'm getting the message:- Privacy Protector for Windows 10 has been deactivated! For more time Get an extended free trial license now and test Privacy Protector for Windows for another 10 days.
When I press the "Register" key again, I get a pop up "Error connecting activation server !

Nigel, I just filled in the code, that I got from the site:
https://www.dropbox.com/s/j4mu2wuciiic5t6/RegistratieNogEens.png
And restarted the program.

Ootje,
I tried all that and in the end restored my system back. It wasn't accepting the code. I got a different message to you, the message I got was that it couldn't connect to server.
