Keep in mind this is against the terms of service for alot of games and the ingame crosshair overlay ect is likely to get you banned if the server administrator uses a screenshot tool.

That being said it's pretty great software. Just a shame.

Matthew,

I don't think that's likely to happen. The server administrator cannot, or at the very least should not (barring trojans, etc.) be able to screenshot a user's game. Even if they did, they'd have to screenshot the user's screen, not the game, because the overlay wouldn't provide any extra info to the game. And even if they did that, what's to stop a person from sticking a crosshair on their monitor? The server administrator can't detect that! Any game which has rules like those are frankly banal, CYA style attempts at preventing "cheating", and pathetically so.

debreugh,

You clearly know nothing about what you're talking about.

EAC, UAC, EVENBALANCE, BATTELEYE.

All major contenders in the anti-cheat industry. All of them take directx and opengl hardware encapsulated screenshots to detect any injected code. This is exactly how the crosshair feature works, it is injected as a direct x overlay.

It's completely within the limitations of most user agreements to screenshot the gameplay, just not the users desktop ect. Mind you EAC and UAC do that aswell....

I Have it on steam. It a hard thing to understand at the start but in the end its very similar to OBS (Open Broadcast System). On steam at least they are still updating the software now and then so its an option.

Stephen MacIntyre, OBS hasn't ingame overlays

Art, excuse me? lol You can put any type of overlay you can imagine in OBS with a few simple clicks. Completely custom how you want it. Follower alerts, current viewer count, playlist, news tickers etc. There is no stream/record software that is more versatile than OBS lol

Art, B.S. OBS is all about in-game overlays. And quite literally does it better for free. So check yourself before commenting and you will not look like a noob. But for now, sorry, I have to call you it. I don't want others to be confused by your comment.

IceTheNet, Sorry I should say this has nothing to do about my views of the offered software. I have not tried it and cannot attest to its values good or bad. I hope to win a copy and give it a try to make a review about this software. I was only commenting about an inaccurate view of OBS Studio that will indeed offer some very fine offerings for overlay as well as game capture webcam overlay, streaming chat and much more.

IceTheNet, do you see the difference between in-game and in-stream words? ;)

Mavadelo, yes, you can put a lots of them... in your stream or recording. But not over _your_ game screen mega-lol

What does this software do? I read the description, but don't get it. Can someone explain in simple terms what it's used for?

starvinmarvin, it can draw overlays over a game screen, it can capture game video to a file or stream to youtube, twitch, etc.
