While installing it insisted on installing a plug-in in my browser, not offering me a chance to decline. Therefore I stopped the installation and deleted the downloaded file.

I don't tolerate arrogant programs.

Excellent program that does what it promises. It installed with a little effort on Windows Vista (claimed it could not write to a file while installing), but worked flawlessly.

Pros: Simple to use interface.
Wizards for common collages
Advanced options
Cons: None found so far !

Really good program. The cropping features make it very easy to make your photos fit into the frames and masks the way you want them to. Way better than MS Publisher for making cards and calendars IMHO.

I like it!

I can't compare it with others of its kind, since I haven't used them, but I can say this:
The interface was "intuitive" and I was able to dive right in and, in a very straightforward manner, make a collage that turned out just the way I wanted it.

(#23): > I’m not sure if you can use your own images for backgrounds, frames, etc,
Yes you can (see # 29 also). I generated my own background image and dropped it into the
(Program Files/Installation-folder)->background->tiles folder. I could then call it up just as if it were one of the predefined ones that comes with it.

(#29):> “Font Size” box is blacked out.
Huh? I was able to change font faces, sizes and styles, etc. at will with no problem.
Font size is a pull-down menu. Actually, I have a minor gripe about it: It allows you to input an arbitrary number, but doesn't honor it.
No biggie, though. If I want to change the size of the text, I can stretch or compress the text-box.

All in all, a definite "Keeper". Thanks, GAOTD. It's been a while...

Pros:
*Intuitive interface and user-friendly Wizard;
*A lot of templates/layouts for collages;
*Enable you to add cliparts,frames,text and masks to decorate the collage;
*Allow you to make calendar with built-in template and edit function;
*Print freely;

Cons:
*Built-in templates are not suitalbe for many accasions such as wedding,love,parties,holidays and so on.Enjoy the various templates of Wondershare Photo Collage Studio giveaway before.You can have a look at some of Free Collage Templates from its official website -- www.ourpix.com
*The Photo in frame cann't be resized,moved and rotated;
*Don't support multipage collage creation;
*“Wallpaper Slideshow” does not working properly;

As a free collage maker software, it is also valuable for installation!
Thanks GAOTD!

This is ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFUL, I've been looking for a program like this for my Scrapbook of my wedding, my niece's and nephews birthdays and Christmas, this is PERFECT, way to go GAOTD!!! It was a little troubling at first, but once you get the hang of it and do a little adjusting, it works great, thank you...if you are missing the "layer" pane on the right, just use the "reset" feature under "view"...and you CAN make it as a greeting card or 12"x12" page...just remember EVERYTHING stretches out..but it's pretty easy to use once you get the hang of it.

Installed and ran fine on WinXP SP2. Nice simple program for making collages and more.

No zoom or at least I can't find it. A search for the word zoom in the help file turned up nothing. I can't see if my images overlap properly unless I save as an image so I can bring the results into another application to look at high resolution image collages better. I wish the mouse wheel could have zoomed in and out on the project so I could see what I am doing as I work. Even on a large monitor I could not make out details around the edges of high resolution photos with masks to see if the overlap was adequate.

Effects are very limited for correcting photos so you really need to do the corrections in another app before using the photos in this software.

Calendar shows the month as a NUMBER??? I killed the month and year in the calendar settings and added text in its place to have it look normal.

Still, it's quite a deal for free. I've spent hours playing with the app today and have a few collages and a calendar to show for it. I give it a thumbs up.

It installed fine on windows xp sp3 - needed an internet connection to activate the license. Tried it immediately and was very disappointed that I could not change the format of the "month field" for the calendar. You have to double click on the calendar to get to the properties, and then you can uncheck the month and year fields, and the week number (who uses week numbers?). Then you can overlay your own text box with the month and year in whatever font and color you like. Kind of a problem but it can be done! Very few templates, and they are very basic, and kind of childish. Not going to give you a result you can be proud of, unless you build it from scratch - maybe!

Easy download but took a while even on fast adsl. Install easy and problem free on XP saved to portable media ok. Maybe i wont use this as often as previous giveaways but the calendar makes it a keeper and the templates reach 2020 and beyond. Have read everything carefully, or so i think, but can't find any ref to 15 days trial, guess come mid April I will know so for me, GREAT. Thanks Pearl Mountain and GAOTD

Installed and registered fine on portable hard drive and also works on other PCs. Checked that since I figured the "registration" would only go into the registry on the PC it was installed on.
Everything works perfectly here including the "Wallpaper Slideshow".
Program does leave a lot to be desired though.
Guess I am spoiled with my graphics programs and my ability to make much nicer cards, calendars, collages, etc. already with those.
Also, unless you use one of the three calendar templates which are not very good looking, the calendar form you can use on a blank to make your own calendar from scratch lists the month as a number not as a name - not too appealing.
It would probaby be a nice program for anyone who is not already heavily into creating their own graphics.

#88- If you go back to the GAOTD page it states that this is a free program for a limited time only. They are NOT giving this one away apparently. I think a few people are going to be very disappointed in this one for that reason.
I decided to un-install it rather than being forced to buy it. I'm sure there are freebies out there that are just as good & you get to keep them for as long as you want.

This is pretty much like Wondershare Photo Collage, but since I don't have it here in this computer I decided to download. This is a nice program. But the Wallpaper Slide Show doesn't work for me at all. I can't add any pictures to my list or even show the sample ones =/

I really like the calendar function. The only problem is that I didn't find an option to put the month's name instead of just a number... I'll have to manually add a text...

Besides some minor problems it's a nice program.

Thank you to Pearl Mountain Software and GAOTD for today's program. The dsl download/setup took less than 8 minutes total and runs without any problems on my Windows XP. The program has many sheets, easy to follow directions and with so many distant family members, emailing completed pages with the program was simple, too. Thank you very much.

Installed fine on Vista 64 bit - however - multipe attempts on XP resulted in nothing but "disk1.cab corrupt". I did some Google searching on "disk1.cab" where I found suggestions this might be a registry problem & that perhaps a registry cleaning might prove helpful. What does one have to lose? So I gave it a try. I cleaned the registry using Uniblue Registry Booster & the program installed on XP on the next attempt.

Re: The cabinet file ‘disk1.cab’ required for this installation is corrupt and cannot be used. This could indicate a network error, an error reading from the CD-Rom, or a problem with this package.

I got this error many times. I redownloaded and still got the same error. Finally, I tried rebooting and the installation worked. Worth a try I guess for those with the same error.

Probably the simplest of the 2-3 Collage Makers that I have used. Installation and Registration went smooth (XPSP2) and I was able to quickly create a simple Collage using one of the templates. Editing, adjusting and layout Options seemed to be easy to locate. One quirk after install is there is a folder in the "All Programs" list called "Picture Maker Collage Full" but it is empty. Looks like I'll have to locate everything myself and put he short cuts in??

Unfortunately I'm stuck with a bloody dial up connection (1Mb every 4 minutes...LOL!!) meaning that it takes more than 5 hours and 40 minutes to download this....simply ridiculous!!!

You know in my miserable country (Italy) about 20% of the territory (usually little or medium-sized towns) is still not covered by any broadband connection and many other areas covered by the DSL can enjoy a slow and very expensive indeed low bandwidht connection in comparison with that operating in other more technologically advanced European countries such as France and UK for instance: can you believe it??

What about in US???

Anyway I was just wondering why in their FAQ section they said that this program takes up just 20MB Hard disk space for install although the .exe installer takes is 84MB!

As for as I'm concerned this adds insult to injury...treble sigh!!

What a pity!!

Cheers

Giovanni!!

I installed and checked. It says FULL VERSION. I clicked on upgrade and it took me to their website. There I found the trial version. This trial version has 80 templates, Single page project and is 42.8Mb size.

On the webpage is another version..the Pro version, which contains 130 templates, multiple page collage. This is 50.03Mb.

This GAOTD version is said to be be Full version, but it is not the Pro version and it is 80Mb size.

What exactly are we dealing with here? Anyone knows?

Excellent software!

I was coincidentally stumbling about in the middle of a calendar project, so I dove right in and found my own nirvana... I especially like the precision of the arrow keys in manipulating image and text components. And I like the import options.

(Unlike #29, I was able to adjust the font size.)

I'm on Vista. No cons.

I'm looking for software that will imitate the ability on the Macintosh to right-click a photo icon in Windows Explorer (I have Vista Home), select "resize and crop for desktop" and have a crop frame appear on the icon that I can move around or adjust to be able to either have the photo fill the screen either like Windows "center" option OR crop it at the exact spot I wish. There is now (finally) a PC version of this, called Ducklet Deskphoto, but (1) it only has three crop options and (2) it costs $19.95. It seems like it would be a very easy program to create (though I don't really know), so why can I not find something liket his? Why is it an automatic feature of the Macintosh OS but doesn't exist for Windows? Can anyone help me out htere? I change my desktop background a lot, and it is time-consuming to resize and recrop photos in an editor.

I am needing some advice, on the best way to download GOTD programs.

When the download option window appears --- is it better to OPEN or to SAVE the folder/file being accessed.

I sense I may be saving the zip files/folders to my hard-drive unnecessarily, but don't know for sure.

Thank you for your feedback/advice on my general GOTD question!

Everything installed fine,when I went to see if this was registered, it showed this....Register
This program is SHAREWARE. This means that you may use it free of charge for 15 days for evaluation purposes and after that you have to register it (buy it). You may distribute the program in its original form to others so they may try it for 15 days.

After 15 days you have to register (buy) the program. You can do this from the link bellow:

Not bad for some people.

It installed and runs fine on WinXP Home SP2.

Creates collages and scarpbook like pages easily.

The thing that turns me off is that to me what you can create with it's own resources is armature-ish looking, too cartoon-y, and not polished and professional looking for my own taste.

For me personally I prefer to do collages from scratch using Photoshop CS3. And for scrap book pages I use a paid for program called 'Scrapbook Factory Deluxe', and I bring things from that into Photoshop.

If you are serious about this type of thing and want excellent professional quality then spend the money on one of the FotoFusion products by Lumpix, it's costly but worth it.

For creating some cutesy things for the family album though this freebie may work just fine for you.

So basically I'm neutral about this one. Personally I want more professional results, but I can see that this might work well for some people.

A nice program, lots of templates and styles to choose from. The program is very versitile at making a collage, you can change so many different settings.

One question though, how do I get the calendar for each month? I can't see a way, I make a calendar and it only has one page.

This is an easy to use program and I think most people will enjoy it. However, the very first template I clicked on was "Baby" and was kind of disappointed. The text reads "IT'S A GRIL". I really hate stupid mistakes like that. I just think there should be more quality control done and people should take pride in their work in anything they do. I did put in photos and that was easy so it's a good program otherwise. You can delete the text and add your own so that's a plus! I will keep this program and mess around more when I have the time.

I've downloaded it twice and am having the same CAB file errors as #35 and #40 and others.

“The cabinet file ‘disk1.cab’ required for this installation is corrupt and cannot be used. This could indicate a network error, an error reading from the CD-Rom, or a problem with this package.”

Seems strange as many have installed this successfully. I'm not sure why the error is occurring for some of us. Maybe the Software Company has a solution?

It's a shame that some have had install problems since this is a keeper. Downloaded and installed on my Vista 32-bit system in less than four minutes . Registration is evident by viewing the "about" window which is labeled "Full Version". Also, the "register" menu choice is shadowed. 84mb is actually very compact for an app with these features. So many are offered that are in the hundreds, if not thousands, of megs(Printmaster, Hallmark, etc...). The interface is straightforward and simple to use. A great choice for anyone wanting to use and share their photos and be creative.

Precious few of the GAOTD giveaways work like portable appz. If the applications will start at all they will work as shareware for a limited time because the reg informations are in most cases stored in the registry. ;-)
