Want to say thank you and commend the developer for being here and responding today. Even though GAOTD does not come with support, really gives a good impression when do respond.

Downloaded and installed Win 10 home no problems.

added 5 pictures. Changed order. Would have preferred a drag and drop rather than move to # position. With more shots, wouldn't know if was 20 or 25 that wanted to move to 60 of 80.

AVI file created. Goes into option to immediately play. While the preview showed all 5 photos, the playback with Window Media player showed only the first one for the entire length. ???
Was SO pixelated that couldn't tell a head from an arm or white top from brown pants.

Would have liked ability for program to allow addition of audio narration.
for example, "Day one of vacation.... here we are going to the airport.... and waiting for weather to cooperate...." To type as captions, seemed too hard and would take away from picture.

i was having PhotoToFilm 3.6 last year.
i think due to my notebook OS upgrade,
a few months ago, the s/w became not registered.
i got the code, but try a few time still can't get it registered.

lucky this free offer comes, i dl & just installed over the old version.
no issue until the s/w is registered on new code.

so far i find the s/w is easy to use, but the output is only in 1 format avi.
i would like to ask Kyle Katarn in advance if my nb OS upgrades again later,
how should i get the s/w registered again?

thanks, KCSoftwares & GOTD.
win 10 x64 v1803 user.

This program might be cheap, but you only get what you pay for.
Just to mention a few things:
- The resolution is much too low for todays standards.
- You don't have an "in the program preview".

So here is a lot of space for improvements...

Kyle Katarn, thank you for supporting the users Wien they have problems installing and/or using the program. I would have tried it myself but unfortunately I see that the resolution will be to low for my purpose

This might be useful for some people who want to create videos for toy computers (also known as cell phones). The resolution is no good if displayed on a computer monitor or television screen.

Registered the program and the buy button is still on the screen. Restarted the program and the buy button is still on the screen. Registered again (same registered successfully pop up), restarted the program and the buy button is still on the screen. Please finish creating your program so the registration process works and the buy button goes away after registration.

Converted Windows 10 screenshot files (1920x1080 resolution) to video and it looks like crap. Please increase the resolution of the video files.

Software in the final stages of development is at the Beta stage, the second letter of the Greek alphabet. Software that isn't remotely functional is at the Omega stage, the last letter. PhotoToFilm 3.8 has the rare distinction of being off the development alphabet completely.

Dreadful previous versions have, or should have, benefited from comments kindly provided by GOTD users by way of developer feedback. Either they haven't been read or they've never been understood. On test today, PhotoToFilm 3.8 performed as follows:

* Non-resizable GUI -- a preposterous failing in software ostensibly dedicated to image management, processing and production;

* No ability to select aspect ratio. Software knows not the difference between 4:3 and 16:9 and if the user doesn't, then disappointment awaits with 4:3 output that looks silly on a widescreen computer, tablet or TV. 16.9 input emerges with black bars top and bottom;

* No facility for easy in-situ rearrangement of darn near invisible thumbnails on the timeline;

* Absurdly minimalist controls: "Settings" is merely a choice of language (and nothing else), "Effects" is sepia or grayscale (and nothing else);

* Help: an ancient and unhelpful video to be run only by those who trust Adobe Flash; of documentation is there none;

* Preview, anything but: far from facilitating a necessary review of work-in-progress, it's a pointless display of the rendering process;

* Output: avi only -- 18 years after the turn of the century;

*Maximum resolution: a mere 720x480;

* Burning to DVD: buy another KC Softwares product if you're naive enough to expect this slideshow producer to manage that;

* 'Play': in-app playing doesn't work (via WMP); avi file needs external player like MPC-HC or VLC (though don't hope for too much: slideshow is either unwatchable or stalls);

* Hopelessly under-powered: inability to handle even half a dozen 5472 x 3648 images of 10Mb file sizes manifested itself in an output so heavily pixilated as to be unwatchable and moire so prominent as to threaten sea sickness. Only marginally better on images pre-cropped to 16.9, and even then the transitions stuttered noticeably and playback repeatedly stalled.

Though KC Softwares has had more than enough in the way of free beta testing by GOTD users in the past to get things right, there comes a time when goodwill is exhausted. Whether free today or paid-for, PhotoToFilm 3.8 is a waste of space on any computer and a waste of any computer user's time and effort. The developer would be well advised to get out of the slideshow software market altogether. Uninstalled.

Max resolution is 720x480 ! Useless ( much too low ) for present TVs and mobilephones. Uninstaled already.

A few problems with today's offering that seem to be bugs that need fixing! I've run it a couple of times now and would suggest:
* "Large" pictures or panoramas crash the program
* The thumbnail view of the pictures to make a film should allow some possibility of ordering photos
* Film files should be 'closed' on error rather than leaving them open and non-deletable
I did manage to get a part film but the soundtrack was missing.
Seems like a useful little program that might 'spice up' holiday photo shows if you aren't using the automatic versions of this type of program on games consoles like the Wii
