@31 Emi Demi

On this Win7-64 also AVG is active.
The warning has two options:
1 delete the program, safe and green
2 let the program alive, but don't let it work; prohibited red

On my AVG: right click on AVG-icon, choose "Temporarily disable AVG protection" and i choose 10 minutes.
After that i could install the program.

After installation AVG didn't let the program work: still a message about a virus.
Therefore every time you wan to work with this program, pause AVG or make a rule in AVG to thrust the program.

What a disappointment. I happened to have a 64 Gb SD card that was missing some photos. It took well over an hour to scan. I was presented with a hierarchy of folders, each with a bunch of numbered files. I selected everything, hundreds of files, and then chose to recover. That took a while, and it was finally done. Except that it only recovered a few files. Seriously. Like 3 out of hundreds. I waited longer, in case it was thinking. I tried again and it saved zero files in the recovery folder.

Maybe it was trying to decide for me what should be recovered. Maybe it didn't think I was capable of making the decision. But then why bother scanning, showing me, and asking what I wanted?

Complete waste of time. Uninstalled. And I agree with those who mentioned the bad English, grammar, and spelling. If you're trying to sell a professional product, you ought to at least attempt to be professional.

Somebody said it is good while somebody said it is bad, even it is not worth to use. In my opinion, this is based on how you use it. If you want to use it to get back few years ago pics, I tell you that is impossible. It is just an app, an easy app to use on your computer but not the so high tech program. So just use it and don't complain-it is free and don't need you to pay, so what else you are paring for?

Also, if you would let it do it, would it actually save ALL those 75k photos to the target drive, even if they were not actually corrupted or deleted before, just like a copy function?
Thanks for the replies.

if you check Photo, Media, Audio : YES and all numbered from 1 to 75k.

I was wary of this uFlysoft Photo Recovery. Decided to wait and see the experience of users who downloaded and installed this.
Many hours later, I read the users' comments reporting the Blue Screen of Death and sudden crashes reported when this software was run.
Looks like my intuition was spot-on right again.

......................

Separately, I totally agree with another (#21 Christian) user's comment.

Everyone says recuva is a good free program, I have tried it many times and not found it to be good. I used to really like a program (paid) called easy data recovery but i only had it for windows XP. This fixed destroyed partitions etc and was one of the only programs i used that was most often reliable. I have lost about 15 hard drives over the years and it can be pretty painful!

That is my experience too and to me Recuva is lousy junk.

I used Munsoft Easy Data Recovery or Munsoft Easy Digital Photo Recovery and they have been excellent. I used Munsoft Recovery software to save 400+ photos of an important family tour of Italy for a friend who accidentally messed up his memory card.

Googled photo undeleter. First 5 FREE ones did a better job. So if your looking for one, you'll have a better time using Google. This one isn't that good. Only found 7 of 50 deleted photos and only 2 of those were recovered.

The voting on this looks false - check out recent offers that get the thumbs up from trusted guys like Giovanni and you won't see such an emphatic thumbs up; yet this limited and slow software gets a 74% approval - sets alarm bells ringing, especially in view of comment #2 and #20 - I won't be testing this.

Blue Screen of Death due to Kernel Security error on Windows 8.1-64. 1st time I've seen that message.

AVG hates it even though I said "okay" and shut it off. Froze up enitre screen, then the BSOD appeared with frowny face and auto-restarted.

Having issues removing it too.

Why it has to mess with the OS kernel is beyond me.

Bah!

But how many Photo, Audio, and video application offers has there been this year already?

How about some wider subject variations.

Brought back 90% of my photos from my Samsung External Drive. The company appears to have a good reputation, and their software operates professionally. But I don't know why the software had to rename EVERYTHING. But just fine.

Installed and registered without any problems, and that was as good as it got!
On opening was presented with a friendly interface simply few mouse moves can finish all the process.
But just like you guys said it took me too long to end the whole process. Hope the developer can fix this problems. Also, I need to preview the videos!!!

Pros
I purchased a software for recovering my lost pics and after a couple of hours of configuring it, I managed to make it run. It needed 15 hours to recover my files, time which I did not want to spend and I gave up on that software. I then got this one which did not take me more than two or three minutes to install and run. The waiting time was also very good (though it also take a while) and I managed to get my photo back less than two hours.
Cons
I really wish I found this program first.

@XP-Man #7:
For all programs you're right about the minimize-problem, but as David Heath already pointed out, in this case it is a pro you can't minimize it:
"1. If you meet the file loss situation, keep calm and stop using your computer to do any read or write operation until you find the way to recover the lost files because any wrong operation will lead to the data loss problem, too."
In short that means: stop using your computer.

Pros:
Easy to use. Select my drive, scan it, preview the photos this software find out for me, select a drive to save the recovered photos.
Recovers files completely.

Cons:
Lacks the ability to scan for files of a certain type.
Take me too long to wait while scanning.

Actually not bad.

It didn't make me disappointed though it took me a long long time to find my pics on my drive. One more thing, if it can preview my videos, that would be great.

No problems installing or registering this program, on opening a simple interface was shown.
There was no choice of the type of scan and it appears to do a deep scan judging by the time it took to do my 32 gig SD card from my car video recorder, just less than an hour. During the scan I was unable to minimise the window size, a bit annoying.
The results were good, in as far as it found a considerable number of the video files that existed before being deleted, but none of the files found either video or image could be previewed within the program.
It suffered, as do all programs that only cover specific types, in that it could not recover the GPS log files. This means that I would have to buy another program just to recover these files making it an expensive to recover everything on the card.
Personally I would never buy a recovery program that was limited in its range of what it could recover and certainly would not be willing to pay nearly $40 for a program that was limited, that for sure!

Installed and activated without problems on a Win 8.1 Pro 64bit system. It gives the correct warning, not to install on the drive, where you search for deleted files.

A Chinese company without name and address. Full of commitments and goals in the copy&paste manner.

Upon start a small non resizable window opens. The program does not detect virtual drives. And the program (obviously a 32 bit program) gives wrong drives sizes of big drives (3 TB). That's simply bad!

I started the search on a small 100 GB partition. The search is done on the drive sector level. and takes 35 minutes.

The program claims to have found 75.651 files, grouped in media categories Photo, Audio and Video.

I selected .JPG and can scan through 5525 files (3,95 GB)... The files are displayed in the small window. They cannot be viewed in another way. The files are numbered by 1.jpg through 73212.jpg, each file receives the follwing number.

This is complete nonsense. I do not want to have listed all my media files, I want to see the DELETED files, which can be recovered. I did not check, which of the 75 thousand files is good for recovering.

Uninstalled via reboot. We have had much better recovery software.

----------------------
Addendum :

I choosed my drive C: for the search. In this system drive I never store photos or videos, but each program has its bitmaps or example pictures or maybe a demo video.

Tips about File Recovery
1. If you meet the file loss situation, keep calm and stop using your computer to do any read or write operation until you find the way to recover the lost files because any wrong operation will lead to the data loss problem, too.
2. If you’ve lost a file, time is of the essence. As new files saved to Mac hard drive or storage devices, the original files gets overwritten. So do not use the drive or disk which your deleted files are stored before at all, until you have completed the scanning and recovery process.
3. The system crashed or the files loss situation happens occasionally, so remember build a backup for the files periodically is strongly needed.
4. If you meet the file loss situation again, stop using the Mac or storage device right now, use another computer to process the files recovery.
5. Remember this, no matter at the normal time or after files recovery, build a backup for the files periodically is the best method to protect your files from data loss situation.

Please Pay Attention to This
1. This software will touch the underlying code of the computer operating system so some of the antivirus tools or program(just like AVG) will alert you.
2. If you get this kind of message, you can simply ignore it and continue to install it on your computer. Or you may disconnect your computer to the Internet to avoid the “long-distance attack” which may be mentioned by the antivirus tools you are using.
3. Usually, AVG will offer misinformation if this kind of software (Software will help user to recover files and touch the underlying code) is running. So users don’t need to worry about this.

Guidance for Installation and Registration
1. Unzip the package you’ve downloaded;
2. To avoid any overwriting situation, please install it on the partition which is different from the one you lost files from;
3. Activate the software with the activation key you’ve got from the downloaded ZIP file.
4. Then you can enjoy the full version with all features.
Notice: To avoid data overwritten problem, after recovering operation is ended, users need to choose another drive like external drive or USB drive that has enough space for saving the recovered files. (Our software will remind users DO NOT save the recovered files to the drive which the deleted or lost files were stored before.)
