Photo Background Remover helps to clear digital shots from unwanted background in batch. Manual removal is performed with the aim of two markers: a red marker is used to define the background area that will be removed, while green marker selects the area that will stay untouched. Automatic background removal doesn’t require any manual adjustments, the program will clear an image by itself. The program also features watermark protection.

I am getting the following message when trying to run the setup file:

"WinHttp.WinHttpRequest: A connection with the server could not be established".

Please help me solve this problem.

consuella,

I forgot to mention that my internet works fine. Yet, the problem with launching the setup file persists.

consuella, any chance that your firewall is blocking the outbound internet connections of new executables by default and not notifying you so that you can allow that program to access the internet in future tries? Do you know what 3rd party firewall front end you have installed? You should be able to temporarily lower the filtering level on your firewall in some way... not knowing which you have I cannot advise in greater details sorry.

TK,

Thank you so much for your very helpful advice.

I will use it for sure in the next giveaways since this one is now over when I am reading your reply.

Your contributions to this site are much appreciated and your knowledge of computing is outstanding.

Regards,

consuella

TK,

Addendum.

Dear TK, you were right on the money. It was indeed my firewall (wfc), which was set by me to the recommended level (=Medium Filtering). Once I had lowered the filtering one step lower, I was able to install Photo Background Remover today, even though, usually, one cannot do that after the giveaway offer expires.

Once again, thank you for your awesome advice and for your leading me to the right solution.

Best Regards,

consuella

P.S. Big Thank You to the Moderator for approving my original post, otherwise I wouldn't have found solution to my problem.

consuella, Excellent news:) if that is Malwarebytes Windows Firewall Control (wfc) as you called it then you can enable display notifications in the main panels or just drop to low filtering when installing any giveaway with a requirement to access a remote server.... I choose to have MWFC to notifiy me so I can keep an eye on windows spyware activities too and block them when they happen! Also lets you give downloader giveaways internet access too so they can access the online services too.

It's the lazy mans way of removing backgrounds and you get the kind of results a lazy person would get. It does what it says it'll do but it isn't precise by any stretch of the imagination. If the foreground colour is close in hue to the background colour it'll cause you issues. However, it's easy to use, and if you don't have access to alternative software it'll probably suffice with trial and error.

Photo Background Remover uses the same kind of inpainting logic as the popular Inpaint, only in this case to remove backgrounds rather than object in a photo. It does work, though not always perfectly, and has an automatic batch mode for folks like eBay sellers who might take a dozen [or dozens] of product snapshots at a time. You could compare it to apps like Franzis Cutout or features in an image editor, e.g. automatic selections in Photoshop [none of those always work perfectly either BTW].

All these up votes and no real comments ?? Something fishy. Is it portable by any chance ? That I would try.

Harry Mangurian, GiveawayOfTheDay is not a Fishy Site. 99% of the time I get great programs that on that day that others pay for on other days. Just because we have time to hit a thumbs up, but not comment, doesn't mean we don't appreciate the site. GiveAwayOfTheDay is Awesome. Thanks So much for taking the time to get us these products and sharing with us with a price that can't usually be beat.

Ron Krueger,

I don't think the poster meant Giveawayoftheday site in this case.

Harry Mangurian, I usually vote after trying a software but I never comment...
