For me, this program is a MAJOR FAILURE so far. I tried this out on an encrypted PDF file from work (they email our "check stubs" as an encrypted PDF). I know the password, so I thought this would be the perfect test. I started out with just the basic Dictionary Attack and within about 10 minutes time it claims to have found the password. "Decryption process finished. Your password has been recovered: twain cloud"

Really? OK, but WHICH password has been found? I opted for it to find BOTH the User and Owner passwords (both are set on this PDF as there is a padlock image under each column). It has given me ONE password, doesn't tell me WHICH ONE it is, (no check boxes in either of the "recovered passwords" boxes) and on top of that, it is NOT THE CORRECT PASSWORD!

I have now started a Mask Attack and I made it really easy for the program; I set it to scan the exact number of characters in the password, and only selected the character sets that are actually used in the password and set it to work. I will update later with my findings on that.

Well, it looks like it may be some time before I can give an official update. Not sure if it is my PC or what, but this thing is slow. It's an 8-character password. This thing, in about 18- hours has scanned just over 62.5 million combinations. it hasn't even decremented the 7th or 8th characters yet, and is only in the "b's" on the 6th. Will probably be close to 2 weeks or more before it reaches what should be the correct password. Will try to remember to update this once it completes.

FeMaster, Sounds like my short review. It found one of my passwords using the Mask feature and it found the User one but has not finished as of yet to find the Owner.

My PC crashed with a BSoD, so the multiple days worth of progress I had in testing the Mask Attack was for naught. I can't say if it had anything to do with this software or not, but I can say it has never happened before...

With the Dictionary attack giving false results, the inability to further customize the Mask (like starting from the bottom [zzzzzzzzzz] and work it's way up), and the incredible number of spelling and grammatical errors, I'm going to write this off as a glorified Beta Test (no way it's revision 4.0 with that many mistakes!) failure and move on with my life.

Uninstalled and not looking back...

I tried this on a file that had a simple 4 letter password using the dictionary attack mode. It incorrectly identified it and even went all the way up to 7 letters. I tried the password thinking it may have been different, but no go. Tried it on another file and same thing. Did not correctly ID the password.

Hassan, check the setting of your firewall. The installer must be allowed to connect to the internet.

Hassan,
If the problem isn't with firewall, make sure that your date and time of the PC is correct and then try again.
