I had a previous version of this program, and when I installed this version, it said that it would uninstall the old version, which it did. When the installation finished and the new version opened, there was no place to enter the registration code, and I could not find any way to confirm that it was registered. However, I did notice that in the top left corner of the screen, the name I used when I registered the previous version appears in parentheses after the name and version number of the program. Does this mean that the new version was automatically registered because I had a previous version of the program? If not, how can I register the new version or confirm that it is already registered?

Gordon, one of 2 main errors in the readme.txt file, do not worry it is not your age causing the confusion!

.EXE file just will not install.
Popup appears telling me it's validating, then another saying it's successfully activated.
But it hasn't installed!
Win 10 desktop. AVG and Win Defender inactivated temporarily, but no joy.
Great shame

It says to run "Registration" to register but I'm not seeing that anywhere. I cannot find any way to register the program.
Please provide more detailed instructions.

Can someone please tell me where to put the registration info? I can't find it and don't see where it is a trial either. Thanks.

I had an earlier version installed and it did NOT ask me to register. Is that OK? I don't see a menu to register.

Same as comment #1, how do you register? Do not have register program.

I requested the link by email. (I don't "do" social media.)
but nothing has arrived. (Yes. I have checked my spam folder.)

I can only assume this to be the very SAME version as that which is absolutely FREE on the site of the publishers.

Sizeable download and took longer than usual to install on a Windows 10 Pro 64-bit laptop but functions and registered fine even after preventing it from "calling home," and a lifetime license to boot. Couldn't find an update check disable setting though. Had to shut down AV to install but ran scanner afterwards and no threats were found. Will come in handy posting pdfs to FB.

Here's the changelog: https://cdn.bytescout.com/History/PDFMultitool.txt.
I've been using an older version (9.3.0.3356) for converting non-scannable PDFs to PDFs that can be scanned; it works great!

Program is called PDF Multitool for Business, but readme file says "Strictly non-commercial usage". Seems like a contradiction. Please clarify.
Thanks

YD Pictures, yup the freeware and busniess is pratically the same program, same functionality just different usage permisions that are conteracted by standard giveaway terms... so it's a giveaway you can get any time in the freeware edition on their site, participation in this giveaway just introduces you to the same program, freeware licensed or business licensed with business usage revoked due to standard terms. It frequently crashes on me anyway so would not want to have to rely upon it in a business environment.

Hi everybody. :-)
There's an error in the readme file.
It is written: "Strictly non-commercial usage".
But the software license is explicitly for commercial usage.
And in bytescout product webpage it is written: "ByteScout PDF MULTITOOL license allows you to perform multiple functions with PDF if you use it for commercial purposes.".

I am using version 11.1 from previous Givaway and can recommend it. It's a flexible tool to edit PDF or extract images, or re-shuffle/delete pages/ The interface is very outdated though

I have installed the software. My previous version got uninstalled in the process.
The Readme states, "Run the program, "Registration" and enter ANY name and the provided key."
Having started the program, I am unable to find "Registration" to do the remaining bits.
Can anyone kindly help out?

Hi, does anyone know if there is any difference, in terms of functionality, between this version for business and the free version that they have available in their website for personal use?
Save | Cancel
Luis, Actually, No!
Slightly different wording but I cannot see one feature extra to the freebie?
Save | Cancel
Luis, you will find it on this page: https://bytescout.com/products/pdfmultitool/index-business.html
Save | Cancel
Luis, I downloaded an earlier version that was for personal use (free), and there were no differences in terms of functionality. I highly recommend this for its many useful options.

Another reader (didn't get his/her name) responded to me saying that, at least in a previous version, there was no difference in functionality. The difference was only in the license.
I'm repeating his/her response here because it may be useful for other readers. Among other things, this probably means that if we need to reinstall the software (possibly in a new computer) we probably can install the free version and then apply the license key that we've received for this GAOTD.

Luis, if you look at the webpage in the giveaways information panel... go on have a look... allegedly ... "Business License main benefits:
PDF transformation and conversion of its scanned images into text searchable PDF files;
Reading of text on scanned files (English, German, Spanish, French and more are supported) with features of HTML PDF Viewer afterward;
PDF to CSV conversion, PDF to XML and XLS, PDF to XLSX and PDF To HTML conversions;
Ability to automatically find tables within a PDF document;
Extra options to Split, Merge, Extract pages from PDF;
Performing of regular expressions search within a PDF document;
Extract attached files and inside data from PDF, XFA and XFDF;
Convert PDF to TIFF, PDF to PNG, PDF to BMP, PDF to HTML;
Print PDF documents;"
That implies the Freeware one does not have those benefits... BUT
when you go to the freeware versions page it says ... "Main program features:
Convert PDF to CSV, PDF to XML, PDF to XLS, PDF to XLSX, PDF To HTML;
Read text from scanned documents (English, German, Spanish, French, and more are supported) with HTML PDF Viewer;
Convert PDF with scanned images into text-searchable PDF documents;
Automatically find tables inside PDF;
Search inside PDF with regular expressions;
Split, Merge, Extract pages from PDF;
Extract file attachments from PDF;
Extract data from XFA and XFDF PDF forms;
Convert PDF to TIFF (including multipage TIF), PDF to PNG, PDF to BMP;
Convert PDF to HTML with images and graphics;
Print PDF documents;
Now FULL-SCREEN mode and NIGHT mode are available!"
Which actually implies the Freeware one has additional FULL-SCREEN mode and NIGHT mode available.
So my opinion they are probably similar except in this case the giveaway Business edition is build is apparently 11.3.2.4010
While the downloadable freeware edition reports as 11.3.2.4010 LOL oh look they're the same... is there a place to insert the giveaway license key?
Well since I participated in the previous giveaway and installed and registered the freeware with the then business license ... and on installing the freeware current build stated above... it does not allow me to input the new business license... but that is because it used the previous giveaways business license details.
So it apears the difference between the business and freeware is the freeware does not let you adjust the windows title to:
"ByteScout PDF Multitool v11.3.2.4010 (Your name chosen when you entered the registration data)"
And that is pretty much it since the normally the Business license permits use in a commercial envirnoment while the Freeware one does not. And from the giveaways readme.txt:
"3) Strictly non-commercial usage"
so participate in the giveaway or just get the freeware installer and you get the same program with very slightly different window titile!

This giveaway isn't active anymore, but I just want to make an attribution. The reader who gave me the information on the previous version was Suze. You can find Suze's message in the replies, here, but at the time when I worte my reply, Suze's message wasn't displayed here. I got the message in an e-mail notification, but that didn't mention who was the author. Thanks, Suze!

Useful looking tool, thanks. Installed ok, couldn't see any way of registering the programme, please help.

MartinB, read readme.txt in the zip bundle

I meant it's automatic and you should see a 'registered' message on top of the program window all the time
Save | Cancel
MartinB, I could not find a way to register either. If you discover a way, please post.
Thanks!

MartinB, if you particpated in previous giveaway of this as an earlier version then the installation of this would have picked up the pre-exisitng license data and not let you input this giveaways license data. The window titile should give you a clue if it's the Freeware edition or registered to (Martin) or whatever name you may have used when you first registered the previous giveaway.

MartinB, Read the instructions in the readme.txt file that was in the downloaded file, copy the key and enter this after clicking on the Registration menu in the program.

Thanks for the suggestions, looks as though a lot uf us have had the same problem. I had a previous version of this on the PC, when I installed this one, there was a message that the earlier version would be uninstalled, when I open the new version, at the top left it gives the version number with my name in brackets, so it looks as though it's got my registration from the earlier version.
