I am not a huge fan of animated wallpaper for a number of reasons. However, Desktop Paints free ">DP Animation Maker has some impressive features, especially for the everyday free price. If you have a need for creating animations that can be saved several ways, check this out!

Horse sorry but I must disagree. Some of us enjoy the eye candy that GOTD put up on here every once in awhile. I don't understand what you mean about it malfunctioning as I have yet to see one that they offered that didn't actually work. Might not like them all but they did seem to work.

It never ceases to amaze me how many whiners that are on here who want fully licensed versions of PhotoShop for free everyday.
This is a windows BACKGROUND program, not a movie. It looks awesome on my 4 year old laptop running Vista SP2. I do not see ANY of the problems that are previously stated. This is a very nice background! Sure, the birds could fly around more and the water could look more realistic, but at the expense of system resources. And all this for free!
Instead of whining, write a better program, if you can, package it and make it available for free to us on GOTD!

GAOTD - It's not like I am ungrateful. I love your service. I've even made purchases based on some of the offerings here. But I ask you: must we continue to endure this sort of dribble on the weekends? If we wanted screen savers and wallpapers that malfunctioned, could we not simply pluck them from the trees of the Internets?

Wouldn't an honest posting like, Sorry folks, move along today, nothing to see here, be more kind and respectful to those of us who frequent your site on a daily basis with relish?

Just a thought.

Doesn't run under WinXP SP3 just throws errors from DPWManager: "switching to the standard rasterizer..." and "unable to create Direct3D device" maybe it's because this is a stinkpad instead of a desktop... BTW, the first attempt to install errored out as "already in use by another program" followed by "activation complete" (nothing installed, however), then when it finally did install, the DPWManager errors followed by increasing system instability until windows finally BSOD'd (thankfully, after restoring to last nights setpoint I find Firefox still remembers my unsent comment so I can resume where I was cut off *if ConCrap will maintain a usable connection long enough to send jeeze I wish I could get DSL instead of this crappy (non)high-speed cable).

For me & IMHO this is one of the nicest, if not the nicest GOTD offer to come from DesktopPaints. It stretches to fill a single 1080 desktop great. Like other wallpapers from this dev, Paradise Mountain Animated Wallpaper uses D3D & mileage will vary -- for me Task Mgr. shows CPU usage = 0%, & GPU-Z shows the graphics card at between 0-10%. I soured on the GOTD featured app to create these when I found they would not play well everywhere on every piece of hardware. The app itself is a single, portable .exe file, though settings if made are stored in the registry. The only *maybe* oddity I saw was that memory usage slowly & steadily climbed, hit some threshold [sorry -- I didn't see the max number], then apparently dumped the memory in use & started over. As others have noted, using Paradise Mountain Animated Wallpaper does mean you lose right-click functions on the desktop -- to me that isn't an issue as I normally have no reason to right-click the desktop, but is something to be aware of.

Not disagreeing really, the way I look at it, the methods DesktopPaints uses to to paint whatever sprites on-screen mean those sprites wind up looking *very* 2D... personally I don't like that, so I've never kept any of their animated desktops [that've been on GOTD] installed. Using a minimalist approach, only having those distant bird shapes, *to me* that flatness isn't noticeable. IOW I'd rather have less done well than more done poorly, but having said that I want to emphasize it's purely a matter of personal taste. :-)

It looks nice and works fine, though it's a little on the plain side. The only thing that's animated was the water and something that I think looked like clouds. Some more animations, maybe some 3D models, would be nice.

Thanks for the link. I have never been able to find a link for decent animated wallpapers until now. These are very professional wallpapers.

Good but the birds fly in a predictable way the background messes up your icons. For some weired reason the desktop icons get moved more to the left. Also when you right click the background it pauses.

Installed and ran on XP Pro with no problems. I didn't have the problem with the moving of icons to the left, but I did have problems with the drop shadows not appearing correctly and the background showing through the icon text instead of having them transparent. Other than that, it looks good and runs well on my computer.

Delightful to look at. (not really, but it's how the saying goes) Pretty to behold. But the graphics suck, it uses more CPU resources than I'd like AND it disables the right mouse button function on the desktop. Thanks but no thanks. This one has got to go.

Always interested in dynamic wallpaper - this one looks pretty cool; not too much going on which is good, I don't need it to distract me, just make my desktop enjoyable. (OK, this next line is just a humorous comment)I think it's a slow day at GOTD when the offer is a wallpaper - you know, not too much going on! :)
I've used their other program that generates animated wallpaper; in fact I currently use one that I would love to be able to share with GOTD usrs; it's a falling snow scene over a photograph of a field of dried grass. Thanks GOTD.

Downloaded and installed quickly.

PRO's - Makes your screen look interesting.
CON's - Moves your desktop icons slightly to the left hiding half of the icon in the left column.
Slows down the graphics card a little more than necessary for a wallpaper.
for 3.6mb There could be something a little more interesting than just birds flying around in circles. maybe a little more wild life like some fish in the lake.

Install well and fast with Windows Vista Home 32bit but running the program is very disappointing as the setting window freezes on top and no other option but to close because the buttons are not responding. Tried 3 times already but it's not really working got to uninstall...thanks but no thanks for this free offer. It sucks!

Installed & activated without any problems.

Pro's:
- Simple program, easy to understand.
- You can set various parameters for this program, i.e.; stretch the (animated) image, start with Windows startup, don't show the options menu at startup of Paradise Mountain Animated Wallpaper.
- Revo Uninstaller (Freeware version) can remove this program just fine.
Con's:
- The animated wallpaper of a mountain view with a lake is a joke. Poorly animated birds, unnatural movement of the water and the rays of light make no sense at all. If this is an example of what you can expect from the available moving wallpapers, I'm not interested.
- Want more animated wallpapers? Get ready to pay for them.

I like Dreamscenes better. (And you can get some for free at dreamscene.org.)

Thanks for the offer, but I'll pass.

PRO: Loads quickly but needs to be found in program files to activate. A useful hint, put a quick launch icon into the toolbar and then its actually quite pleasing with the flying birds and the tranquility of the rippling lake.
CONS: For 3.67mb its a little boring. I hope there is a little more than the rippling water and flying birds. It also pushes my Desktop icons to the left a little which causes half of the far left icons to be slightly hidden, and the only way to get them back to correct position is to do a desktop screen refresh. Also slows my mouse speed down a little.

Installed and runs fine XP SP3 uses very little memory in fact it appears my browser actually uses more memory that this animated wallpaper. And I have had some that looked real nice but turned out to suck up the ram. Thanks GOTD!!! I know some people will complain because all this really is, is eye candy but it is very nice and resource friendly eye candy.
