It worked more times than it didn't, so I am good with it. The most disappointing feature though was the music video player feature. Not a single video would play and got "Video Not Available At this Time" 98% of the time.

But not a total lost. All of the international radio stations played. As well as most of the international TV channels player as clear as crystal I might add.

I have to play with it some more, but for now I give it 4 stars. Especially so since I got it for free. I would not be as forgiving if I have paid for it.

Came thru Ok Win 10 x64 Pro. Exit via upper right corner as usual. USA has CBS & NBC, ABC News. Don't seem to be able to select prior show regular shows. Looks like you get the current show like TV. Didn't dig into any VCR like function.
Lot of overseas stuff like BBC. Disney cartoon came up in German. Haven't tried other countries.
Thanks GOTD. Small enough to keep. Have maybe 3 left of this kind tried over the years. Some just quit being supported, rest were just too flaky even on Win 10 compat mode. Used a yahoo email & confirm then sep serial very quick.

downloaded and installed on Windows 10 HP laptop without any problems. Followed activation instructions and received an email with the activation code in few minutes. Activated and registered without any problem and I am watching TV from around the world without any difficulty.
The link to upgrade to version 14 for US $12.99 doesn't work. it takes me to an empty shopping cart with a message telling me to restart the process. Will not work!

I love this kind of program, especially since I find foreign-language media to be helpful in trying to learn another language! This program was easy to install and register. This is a reputable company; I've had several other programs from them over the years, and they are dependable. Thanks very much, GAOTD and Engelmann!

Downloaded, installed, clicked on get registration key button, filled out very short form, used my real e-mail addy and received an email from engelmann.com instantly. In that e-mail, It told me to click on a link, which I did, and it showed me my reg code which I copied and pasted into notepad. Got another e-mail after that too which showed my reg key. Registered the program easily.

I ran the program and it loaded all the tv, radio, etc. information and then I clicked on Television and it showed quite a few channels. However, when I clicked on USA channels only, I say about eight stations only and not all of them worked. The aspect ratio is wrong and the picture was descent but nothing to write home about it. Sound was pretty good but not high fidelity.

This is an okay program because it's free from Giveaway Of The Day but I would not go out of my way and buy onlineTV 13.
It shows promise but doesn't deliver anywhere near enough for me such as local channels. They need to work on that. I'll keep it but probably won't use it much.

easy install on windows 10 64bit laptop and asrock htpc connected to a 47" tv. picked up channels from various countries and image quality was fine. cpu usage was rather high, but the biggest issue for me was exiting full screen mode. there might have been something showing how, but it was so fast i couldn't catch it after several attempts. escape on keyboard doesn't work, no right mouse click option, no upper corner, had to end task to exit.

I don't wish to disrespect today's giveaway, but has anyone tried Streema? I've used it for worldwide radio for about a year with very happy results. They also offer TV, but I have little interest there, so I can't vouch for it. The beauty of Streema is that it's not necessary to install anything--it works directly on your browser AND it works on Linux distros. I am using it on Ubuntu 14.04. It's free to use with or without signing up for an account although I think having an account allows you to save playlists and TV stations or share with others. It's just streema.com

I found the TV guide just didn't seem to be much good. It was only showing shows that were currently airing. I couldn't scan forward and find a show to record.

I don't see anything I couldn't get with Filmon and Kodi. However, I don't even use those very often.

it works; butt the streaming is slow, when i go from small screen to large screen it needs to reload......now i am running a new gaming computer with high speed INTERNET, so its the program.i would like channels other than news since many of these are free on you tube without the streaming issues. i checked the international channels and there were few countries as well. the interface is nice and concept good; lets see better streaming and more tv. This could be expanded to include free movies and old tv shows in a library. You might also make it a player to stream on-line movies and movies on ones pc.

Very good program. But sometimes the "now Showing" titles do not match the videos shown in each channel. Do not know if the programs are delayed and not live but doesn't matter because the shows are interesting. Some channels more difficult to connect and use more bandwidth than others.

Smooth install and activation Win10. I've only checked webcams so far, not tv or radio yet, but there are penguins in the wild standing around at the Antarctica station that I could see the moment I clicked on that webcam! Instant cool, you guys :) My only wish is to be able to see a bigger picture. Keeping this download. Thanks!

Thanks for the opportunity to try this software! Here's my feedback:

Installation: installed quickly on win 7-64 bit Professional desktop pc. Serial received instantly, but froze its own registration window upon pasting and activating. Had to quit using task manager. However, it seemed to have registered because the software opened ok with no qualms. Within the software though, the info window says nothing useful about it being registered or to whom. Why ask for names then?

Using the software: Few channels available, even less work. I'm in Brazil with a 10mb/s connection and watch 4k tv with no streaming problems. Those that do work (one bbc channel, cnn and cbs) had fair to good image quality. Double clicking on any channel will either do nothing (no explanation given) or show the annoying warning that "certificates and identity have not been established or are not valid for this website, do you wish to continue?" The standard windows message that in this case shows up twice for every channel clicked! The dropdown list has "my favorites" but I did not see any obvious button or right-click function for one to add any channels to it (as if I would want to...) even while connected to a working channel.

Interface/user experience: As many software from foreign countries such as Russia, China or even Germany, the interface is often glitchy and odd with misspelled and odd wording (one would think a software company would hire a native speaker of English to write proper copy in this day and age, but no!) -This is a major annoyance for the user experience rating. All messages and text contain gross errors that could have been ironded out in minutes by a grammar and spelling reviewer.

The user interface also has some silly and inapropriate things such as advertising itself everytime one waits for a channel to load, plus the use of red lettering over the dark grey background interface color... large dated buttons/bounding boxes in the user info and settings window where you read "Hi" at the top (...). When going fullscreen, the conection is interrupted until regained and ESC does not get you back to the normal screen. Using their "close window" button terminates the session altogether... The "get more stations" only takes you to 2 lists in the German language...and their website contains all the usual English mistakes one does not want to see. The list goes on...

Bottom line: Not worth purchasing (for those not obtaining their free copy here) or fiddling with. Perhaps version 25 will have these basic things corrected, until then...

User advice to developer: Please correct the user experience with a truly streamlined and practical interface in normal English if you want this to be a winner for everyone.

I expected much more from the producers of the fine and clear Tune Up utililities which I once purchased, used and upgraded for many years until it was sold to AVG or something.

For more info (if you want any) refer to what other users have said, maybe it will work fine for you. Just kidding.

RobertR,

Great review! Grammar and spelling mistakes in software (it's particularly rampant in the mobile app world) is one of my biggest pet peeves. Nothing destroys my confidence (and the user "experience") like mistakes which are stupidly easy to remedy. There is absolutely no excuse for it, especially not from a company like Engelmann Media.

Reply   |   Comment by Robert Garofalo  –  8 months ago  –  Did you find this comment useful? yes | no (+1)

Robert Garofalo, thanks! What's really funny is that I misspelled "ironed (out)" exactly where I was commenting on spelling mistakes!! Let's say that was put there deliberately for someone to find and comment ;-)...

To be fair, I could have or should have tested all the other features of this software, but frankly I just can't be bothered when there is so much else to do, and perhaps others have covered such features! Have a great day!

There seems to be a problem with the activation key. entered information two hours ago, still nothing!

Reply   |   Comment by Bruce Giles  –  9 months ago  –  Did you find this comment useful? yes | no (+2)

Bruce Giles, Yes, I had that -- waited more than two hours for a Hotmail address, and then gave up and used a Gmail address. For some reason, THAT worked!

But also I was so fed up with waiting for an activation key, sending my address at least three times, I finally turned BACK the "change language" settings to GERMAN. Unfortunately (!) THAT worked! I then got back an email in German, that I had to get translated (my German being pretty rusty) in order to get the key -- which at first did not work, as in scanning to memory, it had included a leading space!

However, when I carefully clipped that, and re-entered, it accepted it, and finally on re-starting -- it WORKED.

I do think that the developers could have made things easier: For instance, the two flags to denote languages were SO darn TINY, they were almost IMPERCEPTIBLE at the top right of the page. They must surely be the TINIEST "language selectors" I have EVER seen -- and it is ridiculous, because they have almost a whole BLANK PAGE to stick them on! The app is good, but surely someone should have suggested, "This is absurd -- make it so EVERYone can see the flags, not just teenagers...."

That said, once you are over the unnecessarily encumbered steps to get it working, it is really good, and useful. In the past 3-4 hours I've watched more TV than I've seen in the past 3-4 months...

JoAnna, Since I was able to install (after some hassles, see my two comments above ^ ) why not re-install it, before the end of the offer, and meanwhile WRITE to Engleman and ask them for the licence that will work with GOTD -- to be entered once they reply? I would imagine that should work, as they are morally obliged to keep to their offer for EVERYONE grabbing the programme and ATTEMPTING to register, in the time it is offered...

I would put serial number here, but I suspect that (a) it may not work for another installation, or (b) the moderator may delete it / the whole comment....

JoAnna, IF you have System Restore, may I suggest you set it to just before you installed this programme, and then, use the licence which by NOW, around 12 hours after the offer expired, must surely be no good -- IF you haven't already downloaded the programme. But as you HAVE, and have/had already installed it, then use this:

which is a real licence key. I reckon I can publish it here, since, as I say, it is no good to anyone who didn't already at least download (and possibly install) the programme.

At least I hope so, or staying up till 3 am. and finding your query will not have helped you achieve the desired objective.

On the other hand, if the mods delete this -- you won't see it anyway....

P.S. I don't know in which country you reside, but you might find one of my earlier postings on this page of some limited interest/use....

Serial is not displayed in web page as stated in text file (i.e. After you press the confirmation link, the serial number will be displayed on the page in your browser and also sent to your email). Nor does the change language button appear to work sticking to German regardless. So far have waited 15 minutes for serial to appear in my email account with nothing showing up and yes I have also checked the spam folder.

Reply   |   Comment by Richard Sebire  –  9 months ago  –  Did you find this comment useful? yes | no (+3)

Richard Sebire, Just a quick FYI, no it doesn't do 4K HDR.
And the interface doesn't do scaling, so if you are on 4K HDR output, prepare to squint like a mo po to see the tiny little buttons that your supposed to navigate.
I counted very few channels from the UK, and the quality was awful, and not even full screen. I will uninstall before the License inspector tries to grab me, and I will pass on the OnlineTV 14 upgrade.

thx

Richard Sebire, If you are watching or recording live broadcast tv then yes you would need a tv license

Reply   |   Comment by Robopop  –  9 months ago  –  Did you find this comment useful? yes | no (0)

Robopop, hello
I went to the website and they say the streams are not live, that they are at least 5-10 seconds sometimes behind the actual live broadcast.
Thus, according to the BBC license, would one only have to pay to receive a live broadcast. Or have they changed it again, so I can’t even watch a “unlive” broadcast without out one..?

Soon we will need a lic nose to watch a DVD the way they’re going..

Reply   |   Comment by Richard Sebire  –  9 months ago  –  Did you find this comment useful? yes | no (0)

Richard Sebire,
If you wish to allow the Parking Eye scum (TV LICENCE) people into your home or admit to watching live TV then yes, you need a licence BUT if they write to you and you ignore the letters or if they come to your door and you tell them to leave WITHOUT answering a single question, then NO, you will not need to pay for a TV licence.
I have a drawer full of 4 yrs worth of threatening letters and NOT ONE door knock.

Reply   |   Comment by Terry I  –  9 months ago  –  Did you find this comment useful? yes | no (-4)

Richard Sebire, I am using from USA. I tried all of the BBC TV stations that were listed and the ones that weren't offline due to time differences all worked well with no requests for license. Picture quality was good and no problems with syncing audio and video. I have not tried recording so I can't speak to that.

Reply   |   Comment by Sue  –  9 months ago  –  Did you find this comment useful? yes | no (+15)

Terry I, Hello Terry, thx for the input.
I’ve had a solicitor act on my behalf for almost a decade now, every two years I have to get them to contact the BBC on my behalf. By doing so it stops the letter for two years, then they start again.
And from what I’ve learnt they can monitor who’s watching what online now too. So if any of these streams are live, we would have to pay.
Same with my amazon prime and my sky now I can watch films and box sets, but if I even dare just flick through the live channels by accident Amazon or Sky will report me, they’ve told me as much.
They have decriminalised it though, so I wouldn’t get a criminal record, but it’s a £1000 fine I just don’t need.
We are monitored online via click streams...
Thx for the input, have a good one
But today’s offering is very much entrapment for me, and others in the UK
Rich

Richard Sebire, Hi,
I think they would consider live broadcast to mean when the entire programme is being broadcast. And BBC programs (even on iplayer catch up) require a license to watch. Search youtube for "TV license" there are hundreds of videos on the subject. Hope that all makes sense and helps you out.

Reply   |   Comment by Robopop  –  8 months ago  –  Did you find this comment useful? yes | no (+1)

Richard Sebire -- As a writer, that was a question I tackled when I wrote an article for a Singapore magazine, years ago, when the first devices for using the Internet to pick up TV stations (even Singaporean) were becoming available....

I recall that a lawyer I interviewed was of the opinion that as one did not use a TV SET, one did NOT need a licence....

However, the world has moved on since then, and I personally am of the opinion that MAYBE fee-charging TV organisations (like the BBC) will somehow start applying pressure to stop these sort of programmes being made available... In which case, grab 'em while you can. That was my thought, anyway.

But I acknowledge that I really have no legal experience or knowledge to offer ANY half-way realistic advice -- except go for it NOW.

Robopop, But, but, but -- if you are ALREADY PAYING for a licence (like you have a TV set at home) then CERTAINLY you should not have to pay AGAIN if, for instance, you decide to watch the "Beeb" on your computer when you are on holiday in, say, Tenerife.... After all, you are NOT watching it at home (as you are on holiday overseas) so it seems to me that there is NO WAY anyone can legitimately charge you AGAIN...

My tuppence worth...

Tranmontane, My comments were ONLY meant for UK residents who, legally, do not have a license and do not wish to fall foul of the regulations. Obviously, anyone in the UK who has a tv license is perfectly allowed to view live broadcast and use BBC iplayer etc.

Robopop, Yes, although I did not make it clear I admit, I was talking about UK residents -- but who have paid for a licence for a year -- and say, move overseas. If they are not using their TV in the UK, but continue to watch while, say, in Paris, Phuket or Peru -- they, already having paid, in theory should not be concerned about watching there.

But are the authorities going to know who is watching -- can they tell from your IP address, and if so, how will they attach that to a living person?

And what if they did somehow communicate with you that you "have to pay up" -- will they accept a copy of your licence as proof of legitimacy? What if you invite your neighbours' kids in to watch? What if you then go out...for several hours? You, the licence holder are not even watching -- and surely those Parisians didn't pay....

All sorts of issues, it seems. I am certainly not advocating that the BBC doesn't get it's licence fees -- but eventually it may be so hard to enforce they will have to turn to advertising (horrors!), as there will be just so much "pilferage"....

100% perfect registration process.

If only they could ALL be this straightforward. Congrats to Engelmann Media GmbH
The program being offered here is great. Absolutely brilliant!

Very little stuttering. Obviously not all stations available but voice sync perfect and picture nice & steady. Good looking and smooth in operation. Windows 7/64 op Sys here.

Definite keeper for me.

Downloaded, installed. Computer froze during activation. Had to force shutdown. After reboot, I entered SN and activation proceeded without further problems. To my surprise, this program actually works, Several station from UK showed up and worked with double click. USA list:
ABC News
CBS
CNBC
CNN USA (CNN USA appears to actually be CNN International or UK?)
C-Span
NBC
QVC
RT America

Downloads and installs fine on Win10-64, but the app won't open. I tried three times to open it; task manager shows three instances running, but none is visible and none can be ended. Too bad; uninstalling.

Amazing software, at least for me. In USA on East coast, just downloaded. Lots of english speaking radio & tv stations.

Only problem, my slow internet connection- many long downloading pauses on many tv stations (radio great). Click button to record station playing. Not very computer savvy, hope there are no virsus. Interesting software.

That's a run down version (Limited) of the software. To be able to see more stations, you have to buy them! Many other freewares exist that does all this, and no serial needed. Just Google : Free online TV to get tons of them!

Too bad, I was hoping for a better product from German guys.

Moreover, most stations can't be access from Amerika. Each time I clicked on something, I receive the message: This service is temporary not available, please try again later.

Not good.... Uninstalled!

JimK, I wasn't aware that there are "tons' of freeware apps for watching TV like BBC, etc. Obviously so, from my comments above (#29, #35 and #43). Therefore, whether any are as good, or better, than this, I really cannot say. I CAN say this programme is good enough for me -- with 13 or 14 immediately available from the UK I will never have enough time to check out any more. There ARE other things to do with one's life... so I am wondering if, having this, it will tend to put a crimp in them. Which is why today, as I said, I watched more TV in three or four hours than I have in the past 3-4 months.

But if I want to indulge myself (on top of many text news sites, like TIME, Guardian, BBC News) I now have a whole lot more.... Oh dear... it's something of a mixed blessing....

Downloaded, installed and registered without issue on my Windows 10 64bit computer. Watched some TV from around the world...listened to music too. No issues. But the number of TV stations is limited. It seems like a nice piece of software. Thank you for the opportunity to use it. I think I will keep it.

Jeff Wilson, PS: I found that double clicking the station from the list in the left hand panel will cause it to play in the right hand player. If you only single click it, it says "no entries available" in the player.

Managed to install and register on Win 10 without any problems and when opened the UGI is not too bad looking but not bad looking is about all that it has going for it. Not one of the listed stations was able to connect or see any way of updating them. In short a waste of space and time. I've tried similar programs in the past all with pretty much the same results. Maybe it depends on where you live, but for me this is useless. Uninstalled.

Thank you GAOTD and Engelmann.

The TV works flawlessly. Use TV guide to see all channels on line and description of shows.
Channels are quite clear.
My favorite CNBC is not working at this time.

"Flawless" and "CNBC not working" are complete opposites.

Easy to install and get up and running. Haven't explored all the options yet but BBC and newspapers opened straight away. I hope you'll be adding more countries. this is a keeper!
