My last email may or may not have got thru

All I know is that when I attempt to install the program i get the "Storage driver failed to install!" problem (on Windows 7 64-bit OS)

Will attempt to contact SUPPORT but my harddrive is having real problems at present.

Is the REGiSTRATiON attached or locked to PC that the program was installed on? (For Example: by a cookie or hardware iD, etc)

Why: Because my Hard Drives health is only at 40% (according to Hard Disk Sentinel Pro v5.01) and I am about to install a new hard-drive and decided I will also upgrade from Windows 7 64-bit Operating System at the same time as the hard-drive is replaced.
____________________

SADLY the "Storage Access Driver failed to Install" issue appeared on my installation which i'm hoping to correct by contacting SUPPORT

MY PC's Browser is running very slow at present and the GOTD OFFER's expiry time (about 40 minutes from now) will probably occur before i can get the email away.

... OR ...

By reading everyone's comments and replies and will attempt what user JORDAN suggests [https://www.giveawayoftheday.com/niubi-partition-editor-professional-7-0-4/#comment-571102] about installing version 7.0.5.

BUT will installing version 7.0.5, accept the Activation key (B26***...***6A6)in the Readme.txt

HOPEFULLY Support people will accept my bonafides that I'm trying to get through to them as quickly as possible.

Looks like I am not the only one with the error of the unsigned driver, after 2 attempts to install with the same result, this one goes into the dung heap. I appreciate the TRULY FREE offering, just wish it was not some strange beta version with unsigned drivers.

We see very few FREE programs anymore, most are just extended trial periods. This one is actually a lifetime upgrade FREE program, so for that, again I say thanks. Wish this new year brings more offerings of this nature.

Sorry the program is broken, seems like a very widespread problem and it should never have been offered in this condition. Hopefully they will get their act together and try this again in the near future. Merry Christams and Happy New Year!

NIUBI & Giveaway of the day,
Thanks a lot for this really 100% give away: Professional Edition with LIFETIME Upgrades.
Installed and activated with no problem.
I'm very happy and wish more developpers take NIUBI as example, offering real giveaways too.
I didn't try their software yet, but even if after I discover some bugs there won't be any problem, because updating the program after some time, the bugs would be fixed.
Thanks again, Merry Christmas, Happy new year & Best Wishes to you.

Hi Reussite Oisillon. :-)

I don't think upgrades are included.

Reply   |   Comment by xilolee  –  6 years ago  –  Did you find this comment useful? yes | no (+2)

xilolee,
After activation, it's exactly mentionned on the title bar and in the about window:
"Professional Edition + Life-time FREE Upgrades".
Do you say that they lie?
If "YES", what's your proof?
Thanks!

Reussite Oisillon, Read the ReadMe!

Reply   |   Comment by nibo1978  –  6 years ago  –  Did you find this comment useful? yes | no (0)

nibo1978,
I have read the readme file, and I'm reading all the readme files for years now. So, I know exactly what they say, and in summary I can affirm that they're not exact, and they are not written for every giveway: there's only one form for all the giveaways, in which they add or delete something.
I remember times when I downloaded the giveaway, but I didn't activate in time. You know what I did? I downloaded the software from the developer's site and activated after the giveaway was expired on Giveaway of the day. I tell you this only as example, to show you that according to real facts I personally experienced, you shouldn't think that what's written on the readme file is exact (you would lose nothing if you try to find solutions out of what they say).
I hope this would be useful to you.

Hi Reussite Oisillon. :-)

I didn't have time (and/or will) to download and install the program, therefore I didn't read that message.
Programs given away are usually lifetime without upgrades, or licensed for a year with or without upgrades.
I didn't see in these years a program with a lifetime license with upgrades included.
By the way, I'm happy for those of you who have got this offer with this kind of license.
NIUBI support could have clarified this...

xilolee,
My dear friend, for me too, it's the first time in several years that I see a giveaway with lifetime upgrades. That's why I'm thanking the developper and Giveaway of the day, to encourage them to give us similar giveaways. And I agree with you that the developper, and Giveaway of the day too, should have clarified this question, to make us sure that this giveaway is really with free upgrades, not only words that they forgot to delete from the software interface.
Good day to you, Merry Chtistmas and Best Wishes for the new year.

FWIW, if you're going to shrink a partition, defrag 1st to pack all the data towards the beginning, then trim the end. When you want to move a partition, NIUBI Partition Editor Pro or similar can move the data for you, though personally I prefer a partition image backup that can be restored anywhere. While NIUBI Partition Editor Pro can protect your data, with software there's always some chance that something can go wrong, plus writing large amounts of data to a marginal HDD can cause it to fail, and there's often no way to tell that a HDD is about to fail.

Partition copy can work well when/if you want new partition file tables. While a bit rare, an example would be when bad sectors are detected with Windows disk checking, & recorded to the NTFS file tables -- the drive might substitute a spare, or you might replace the drive, but those file tables will still show the same bad sector(s) unless they're replaced.

I also had the "Storage Access Driver failed to Install" message appearing after first installing the program on Windows 7, 32 bit. I just installed it again into the same folder without erasing the 1st install and that time the program ran OK.

After activating the program I closed it and started it again and a message came up that the 7.0.5 version was available for upgrading 7.0.4. After going to the website there is no clear way to actually DO the upgrade. I tried downloading 7.0.5 and installing it over the top of 7.0.4 which didn't work.

How do you actually do an upgrade once you get to the website? Downloading 7.0.5 and installing it into the 7.0.4 gave me the "Storage Access Driver failed to Install" message appearing again and multiple installs doesn't get rid of it. Driver should be signed.
---
On glaring thing I would strongly suggest is to change the operation name, "Clean disk" to "WIPE DISK". Cleaning a disk to me means to get rid of file fragments etc (similar to, chkdsk c: /f ) NOT wiping -everything- off the disk.
---
It seems that it is possible to copy a partition but you can't back up the whole system hard drive or copy (clone) all the partitions of the system drive at one time.

Still lot's more to check out. But it looks promising if I use it in conjunction with my old Paragon Hard Drive Manager.

Thanks to NIUBI and GOTD to give this one a test.

olrowdy01, sorry about this issue, original signature has issue in some Windows, so we updated the driver signature in 7.0.5, please follow the steps one by one:
1. Open C:\Windows\System32
2. Find MDA_NTDRV.sys and delete it
3. Download latest 7.0.5 to reinstall

olrowdy01, glad you got it working.
For the life of me, I can't understand why a company would release a product that produces so many installation failures.
It doesn't inspire confidence, especially with software dealing with critical disk activity!

Fred, yes, it's our fault, original driver is single signature, so it doesn't work in some Windows, we've updated with double signature. Sorry about this.

Whne I installed the software in Windows 10 64 bit laptop, I recieved the error message "Storage Access Driver failed to Install". Same issue after three attemps. I unstalled it before the 2 and 3rd try.

All windows up dates up to date. Ran 2 visus scanners. I believe my system is clean.

Thoughts?

installed with no issue on latest built of win10pro x64 (v7.0.5). functions fine and is similar to EaseUS free IMO.
lifetime upgrades is nice.
I performed a few small resize operations without issue. the "rollback" feature only seems to work if you have not Applied the pending operation (same as EaseUS), unless I am missing something. i think this is the proper behavior tho.
I have not tried all of the features out but I really just use this type of software to move un-allocated space around and expand drives. I may try the wipe feature as that seems useful. for other functions (defrag, format, change label, etc) i will just stick with the built in MS tools to do that.

all in all, it works as expected. I will continue to use it

charast,
one more comment.... cant there be a setting somewhere to change the operations to use GB instead of MB? who uses MB anymore for disk sizing? why do i need to do math? the main display shows GB for all my current drive sizes but when I go to expand it shows MB...
make a setting to change this please :)

charast, thank you, display MB is used for accurate resizing, for fast resizing, simply drag on the map

Tried a previous version of their software, was not over impressed by it. I prefer to use the free version from paragon, just updated to the latest version. Does everything this can do, so sticking with a company I know and trust.

Reply   |   Comment by Bryan Gee  –  6 years ago  –  Did you find this comment useful? yes | no (+24)

Bryan Gee,

Does paragon do dynamic/basic conversions while leaving the data intact? That is a function that I have needed more than few times while working on the failed/failing computers of friends. I was the "local guru" for some time, although my skills begged to differ. I have used a few free programs over the years, but when it came to dynamic disk recovery, I had a very hard time finding any software that was able to recover those discs in the free realm.

If paragon does do dynamic conversions without data loss, free, I will have to get their software again.

who gets "storage access driver failed to install" error, have to disable driver signature enforcement in your windows. because this software have not digitally signed driver. To disable driver signature enforcement, just google it according to your operating system version.

Tom Clements, #7 here. It's not a defective download; the files loaded and installed fine on my laptop. Still can't find a solution for the Win 7 64 bit machine. Also tried the free version from NIUBI website. Same error. Very frustrating; I need this software.
Please share solution if you find one.

Reply   |   Comment by Fred  –  6 years ago  –  Did you find this comment useful? yes | no (+2)

Fred, if you do need partition software on your Win 7 64 bit machine, and this doesn't work, I'd suggest you use AOMEI Partition Assistant Free version.

https://www.aomeitech.com/pa/standard.html

You can also use EaseUS Free version. I've used both of these on a 64 bit Win 7 machine, Win 8.1 2nd Edition and on Win 10 64 bit. Both these are reliable and has been around for many years.

Personally, after using both, I found that I prefer AOMEI. It's regularly updated, and has support for creating a Windows PE bootable media on 64-bit system, support both UEFI and Legacy BIOS boot modes.

I don't know much about this offered software's 'roll-back protection' feature (it does sound nice), but when working with partitions, perhaps sticking with the tried and tested may be wise, especially if you have problems installing it on a 64 bit system ?

As an aside, AOMEI also has a free version of a disk imager, which I've also used successfully for years.

The superiority of NIUBI is its rollback protection https://www.hdd-tool.com/features/rollback-protection.html
you won't lose data even if power failure while resizing partition. Also it is resizing faster, just test and compare with easeus and aomei if you have test computer or VMware.
