We would like to apologize for all the inconvenience. Due to the huge interest, the account activation and licensing services had problems. They may have had problems on the Give away day ( isn't that what this site is about, ways to improve ) , but their service is impeccable.
What a wonderful company to deal with.
Thank You MyDraw.

Good application! Worked perfectly on Windows 10!
Good for drawing flowcharts although many more mind mapping tools should have been made available in the program.

Shame, tried to receive an activation key for awhile through out the day and just receive error links. Thanks for the offer! I would have like to see how it interacted with TurboCad which is what I do my electrical prints with. I hope the trial uninstalls well and doesn't leave a bunch of junk behind.

GOOD NEWS - The link now creates an account for you, and gives you your password

BAD NEWS Install appears to run, but the program fails to open with - "create process failed; code 14001"

I am using my XP Pro 32bit PC 97% of the time.
If the program does not work in XP, then it is of no use to me.

AH! such is life,
Rob

Hooray, tried again just then and this time the server error had gone away. Received my activation key email a minute or two later.

Then the puzzle about where to submit your activation details. When MyDraw first opens there is no ribbon.

So you have to click on one of the categories such as "Blank Drawing" or "Flowchart" before the ribbon appears. After that you go to File > About and this is where you enter the provided Username and Password.

I installed on my Windows XP laptop and got the following error:

Unable to execute file:
C:\Program Files\MyDraw\MyDraw.exe

CreateProcess failed; code 14001.
This application has failed to start because the application configuration is incorrect. Reinstalling the application may fix this problem.

I reinstalled the application. Didn't fix the problem.

Downloaded and installed. Seems to be quite interesting, and there's a decent amount of help available. One slight criticism I would make is that the interface is a bit too large relative to the drawing space, and there does not seem to be a way to adjust this. The elements themselves, the ribbon, the status bar, seem to be a bit over-enlarged. It's possible the software does not adjust well to my 150 % custom DPI setting of the Windows display.

Also, it's a bit off-putting you need to open a document, any document, even a blank one, before being able to access the menus, the preferences, etc.

Might I also add that having to go through the long CAPTCHA verification once is bad enough, but over and over again is agonizing. There has to be a simpler way to prove we're not robots.

Has MyDraw's new user registration process also gone down?

Clicking the activation link in the confirmation email on a Mac just takes you to a blank MyDraw web page. Clicking on the link twice says that the code has already been used but trying to login on the normal login page says 'User with specified email and password was not found'... Even trying again 30 mins later gives the same results. :(

Shame, as the program looked quite interesting.

Sascha, that's unfortunate. If you happen to read this, see one of the comments within the top comment. It says "CT,

Just for your info. I emailed support@mydraw.com and they told me to register with them via the program. They then kindly allotted a win and a mac licence for free. Might be worth a try. The Giveaway had expired at the time of emailing them.

Dave"

You'll note that the Giveaway had already expired, but Dave was still successful. Hopefully you will be too ...

Tried installing on XP SP3. Got this error message 3 times.
"The application has failed to start because the application configuration is incorrect. Reinstalling the application may fix this problem."
The phrase "May fix" portends hope and change. However, this installation does not improve with age. Does not speak well of the application nor the QC.

I installed and activated on Win10 by exactly following the instructions in the .txt file. The only problem I had was at the last step of the .txt instructions I clicked the "Register" button when I should have clicked the "Activate" button. Repeating and clicking the Activate worked okay. The program seems to do the standard drawing things other programs like Microsoft Visio do.

Print out the readme file and follow it to the letter -- looks like an excellent program made less effective by a convoluted registration and activation routine. A direct link to a tutorial would be a big help. The program doesn't have a traditional windows top menu bar so it initially takes a lot of fussing around to discover where things are and how to make it useful. If you are careful in following the readme file you can get it all working, but registration and activation are not intuitive nor follow the practice of most other programs.

Reply   |   Comment by Alan Taplow  –  6 years ago  –  Did you find this comment useful? yes | no (+9)

Alan Taplow, The MyDraw is supposed to have the standard windows "Ribbon Featured UI" I had the same issue of it not opening up with the ribbon bar header UI and contacted support@mydraw.com. They are working the issue now and feel that it has something to do with the system fonts creating the problem of the "Ribbon UI" not showing up. For without the Ribbon bar you can't access File and About to conduct the activation process. You might want to send them an email letting them know you are experiencing the exact same problem. Logging into the MyDraw account with the credentials they emailed you will not register and activate the software.

Regards
Bob

Bob Rainey,
Thanks Bob. I got the ribbon UI when I was playing around and happened to click on one of the form options, but to be user friendly should have displayed immediately when opened. So, yes, I was then able to get it activated. Don't have time right now, but when I can, I'll start playing around with it. On more comprehensive programs I find I need to have a project requiring it, and then I'll spend the time to play around and discover the features ---- for me I never learn a program, I just begin to discover stuff and then it all becomes familiar and intuitive.

Reply   |   Comment by Alan Taplow  –  6 years ago  –  Did you find this comment useful? yes | no (+1)

Bob, as I described elsewhere a few minutes ago (after finally getting my activation details hours late), the proceure is not at all obvious. When MyDraw opens there is no ribbon displayed. You have to click on "Blank Drawing" or "Flowchart" or one of the other categories in order for the ribbon to be displayed. The go to File >About to enter your activation details.
