An AI-powered object remover for videos and images.

Through the digital conversion using virtual soundcards, MuvAudio2 converts audio files that other programs can't, at incredible speed. Most portable music players can't play all audio files. MuvAudio2 takes the guesswork out of having to use multiple programs to convert all of your audio files to a format your play supports; MP3, WMA, FLAC, M4A, MP4, and more.

It makes sure that your converted files have the tag information you've come to expect, including Album Art. Using "Watch Folder Mode", you'll save time by never having to manually keep track of what you have or have not converted; simply set your options once, set your folder to watch, and MuvAudio2 makes sure they get converted to the format you know your player supports. MuvAudio2, it's your audio, wherever your audio takes you!

If you miss out on this, one and wish to avoid the Windows Media Player.. (i have not got it installed on my WinXP anywhwere)

Two options, Download Winamp 2.20 (Free) from oldversion.com then use an "output" plugin like out_lame to output the files to mp3 oo something real.

You must use the 2.20 version as in subsequent releases they disallow the use of plugins on WMA files, this older 2.20 vers did not have that limitation!

For a more Global "virtual soundcard driver recorder" The other known option is TotalRecorder (shareware) which can output files from any audio source like streaming radio.

The limitations of both are that the WMA files will only transcode in realtime, the Winamp version is slightly faster but not by much, WMA has a speedlimit built in to stop this...

Finally.

WMA Sucks..... never use it again and learn from your mistakes!!! Use MP3

I've tried, all day long, to install this program. I've installed, uninstalled, deleted the download, downloaded the file again, changed the setting on my computer so that it would just ignore the driver signatures, but I cannot get this program to go past the "Virtual Cable was not install properly" warning when I start the program. I really would have liked to have this program. I've done everything I was supposed to do to get this thing to work and I can't.

I found it very confusing and hard to use. I have always done all my converting here:

http://www.media-convert.com/

This has done wonders for me and is free and over the internet. This also supports many more file types, is just as quick, and you dont have to download anything.

All in all, not a bad giveaway, but I'll probably uninstall it. It just doesn't do anything to make it worth dealing with the unsigned driver and all the potential issues it poses. (no, I didn't have any trouble with it - yet)

The deal-killer for me is this: most people who listen to audio files on the computer or a portable player already have the files in MP3 format. The main ones that aren't - iTunes, RealAudio, Audible.com's .aa format - MuvAudio2 doesn't handle. Let's face it - how many people do YOU know with enormous libraries of .OGG tunes?

If you use it and like it, great. Like I said, it's not a bad piece of software for free. (I'm particularly impressed that the author or an agent actually showed up here in the forums to provide personal support) But I just can't understand why anyone would pay for it. To me, it doesn't provide any real value at all.

Obligatory Off-Topic:

Screamer Radio has the ability to record built right in to the player.

http://www.screamer-radio.com/

More cool freeware:

http://www.snapfiles.com/freeware/freeware.html

I use a freeware player called VLC Media Player that plays just about anything - video or audio - with the exception of RealAudio files, which is why converters aren't high on my list of handy tools.

@25: that box is there not because the muv2audio isn't registered[it is]
the problem is the author of the program used an external activeX control in the software that he didn't pay for[distribution of software using demo controls is a big no no and usually is in the EULA of the activex demo software]

Great software, installed easily, although I needed to update my net framework to v2. If you have to do that also it will say close down the installation of the audio converter...no need to do that. Also once .net framework is installed it prompts you to reboot your computer; again no need to till you've registered the software, then reboot.

If you download the demo from MuvEnum's homepage:

http://www.muvaudio.com/

you can activate it with the name and serial number that pops up when you install the giveaway version. Transferring the demo to another computer and installing that, then activating it with the serial number provided works fine. I'm not sure whether the serial number is date sensitive, so I would suggest saving the serial and name together with the date just in case. So that when it comes to reformatting, or reinstalling windows, you'll still have a working copy when installing this software; just reset your computer's date temporarily; if needed. :)

Have a great evening folks.

I never had this situation before, but after installing I found that when I play some wma files in winamp, it tries to acquire drm licenses; actually my first intention was trying to convert them to mp3s using another software (windows audio converter) , and it's not possible, then I found that winamp and also tunebite were acquiring that license too and they can't play the audio file... I don't understand what is happening, but I think this is because when I installed MuvAudio2, I got warning that the drivers (or whatever) were not signed with Microsoft.. I was using those wma files last night and never saw this "drm acquiring license" before. I unistalled MuvAudio2 and restored my sistem to an early point, but I still have the same conflict. How can I revert this, please?

(excuse me if any mistake writing in english, this is not my primary language)

#37, thanks for the tip about Super©. If it does what it claims on its (horrifically ugly) Web site, and what you say it does, it could be great. For anyone who's curious, the Super© Web site is http://www.erightsoft.com/SUPER.html.

Audacity doesn't actually compete with MuvAudio2, as Audacity is really an open-source audio editor, with many functions and a steep learning curve. Its address is http://audacity.sourceforge.net.

I recently reviewed a few video conversion tools at my blog on free and cheap utilities, http://jonathanstoolbar.blogspot.com. Stay tuned for an upcoming review of audio conversion and editing tools.

#56 I like StationRipper http://www.stationripper.com/download.htm for recording internet radio. The free version records two radio stations simultaneously. The pro version records 300. It is the best birthday present I've gotten. I use it to listen to old time radio (search for OTR) in the shoutcast section of the program.

As I alluded to at #20 and as #58 points out, this program eliminates the copy protection from files obtained from Yahoo Music and, I would expect, removes DRM in some, if not all, other circumstances. That the program's license states that the product isn't to be used for nefarious purposes, as #51 points out, is posturing. It's clear what a program like this, and similar ones which proliferate, are designed to do. Those of you who assume this is simply a conversion program and ask why yet another one is being offered have missed the main feature of the app. Yahoo attracted subscribers (no doubt in the millions) with an annual subscription of about $54 and then nearly tripled the price, so it's no wonder that programs like this are so popular. Even if this app removes DRM on only Yahoo music downloads and under no other circumstances, there's still a huge market of potential customers.

We were waiting to hear back from GiveAwayOfTheDay regarding the day our program would be posted... Imagine to our surprise when we arrived to the office this morning to an inbox full of support requests. We were a little unprepared, so sorry about the delay, but we're here to help everyone that has any issues or comments. This post is a little large but answers most questions up to comment #67.

Thank you for your support. We hope you enjoy your free copies of MuvAudio2!

#7: Sorry, but MuvAudio2 does not support conversion to .amr files.

#9 : For the MuvEnum Virtual Cable not installed correctly, please see http://muvaudio.com/faq.php#block and click on "Q: Why am I getting an error saying MuvAudio2 can't find "MuvEnum Virtual Cable" when I try to run the software?" This gives a full explanation on how to resolve the issue and what cases may cause it. For the soundcard not being reset, you can try running, from your Start Menu MuvAudio2 group, the MuvAudio2 Reset Soundcard application. FLAC is supported but you need to install a plugin to get it working. You can read full instructions and get links to the plugins at http://muvaudio.com/addfiletypes.php

#10: A reboot is only needed if you are running an nVidia-based videocard as nView causes MuvAudio2 to hang. The reboot disables nView from hooking into MuvAudio2 so that it doesn't hang. Normally, the reboot shows as a choice at the end of the installation. We apologize for the issue.

#14: The use of virtual soundcards makes the conversion digital, therefore, the quality should be that of the original file as long as the settings for the file you are converting to is of at least the same quality as the original.

#23: For full installation instructions which talk about the Microsoft warning..., see http://muvaudio.com/installing.php

The MVC installation warning is shown about half-way down the page. It says the following:

"During the installation of MuvEnum Virtual Cable, you may be shown the Windows Logo Testing window stating that "MuvEnum Virtual Cable" has not passed Windows Logo testing to verify its compatibility with Windows.

The message below is displayed because "MuvEnum Virtual Cable" is not a Windows driver signed. For Microsoft® Windows® operating systems, Microsoft promotes driver signing for designated device classes. Windows 2000 and later versions of the operating system perform signature detection whenever an INF file is used to install hardware from a designated device class. Please click Continue Anyway to complete the installation of the software. We have thoroughly tested the driver to ensure maximium compatibility."

For a sample of the same reasoning from a big vendor (HP) regarding the "has not passed Windows Logo testing" message, please see:
http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?docname=c00852365&cc=us&lc=en&dlc=en&product=59129&dlc=en&lang=en

Thanks for the rating :)

#25: It sounds like the trial period message you are getting is due to an issue with your .NET installation. We have fully registered that component and have had no other users report this screen. This doesn't affect the recording in any way.

Because of the extremely high cpu usage that the OGG encoder has, we give this message to users. We are in the process of deciding whether to remove OGG support altogether, but have been undecided in this matter. You just happened to pick the least used format :) We'll definitely take a look into resolving the issues regarding OGG support.

#27: This seems to be caused by the way GiveAwayOfTheDay packaged the activation information. A reboot is only needed if you are running an nVidia-based videocard as nView causes MuvAudio2 to hang so the assumption is that they tested on a non nVidia-based videocard. In your case, you can run the installer again, it shouldn't ask you to restart this time because it will detect that the settings needed have been configured previously and you should get the activation code. Sorry about that.

#29: Thanks for the nice comments.

#30: Please try reinstall so that the GAOTD activation information will be shown on installation completion. This will remove the trial limitation.

#31: This is a common misconception with what the message means (In Windows Vista, it does not show this message). Please see our response to #23,

#34: We actually have a version in testing that will convert .aac files with a plugin. Look for it in the next few weeks.

#35: Thank you for providing that information to the users. It is very helpful.

#39: M4A is supported but you need to install a plugin to get it working. You can read full instructions and get links to the plugins at http://muvaudio.com/addfiletypes.php

#40: Refer to our response to #9 above.

#42: Please see the original post for #20.

#43: .RA files are not currently supported.

#48: The installation of the Virtual Cable can take a few minutes. After the initial run, it will tend to start up faster.

#49: We wish it would to, but we had no control over how it was packaged. Putting the "Paste Code" button on the left is definitely a good idea. We'll look into changing that for a future version. Thanks.

#55: Thanks for the kind comments. We're glad you've been able to put it to good use.

#56: See #55. Sorry, but MuvAudio2 does not support recording from internet radio.

#61: The crashing for your seems to be a very isolated case. We've had no reports before this point of this happening. It would be interesting to find out the cause. We apologize for the inconvenience. We'll definitely see what we can do to avoid these issues in the future. Regarding the Microsoft warning, please see our response to #23.

#62: Regarding the Microsoft warning, please see our response to #23. It only installed the software when you clicked Cancel, the installation of the Virtual Cable was cancelled. You can safely ignore the error message on uninstallation as it is saying it can find the Virtual Cable to uninstall.

#63: Regarding the Microsoft warning, please see our response to #23.. .NET 2.0 is required to run. It is definitely not a virus. Just a framework to help developers not waste time programming things that have been programmed a million times before. We're glad you enjoyed it.

Thank you,

#46, "Anyone know how to convert Audible (.aa) files to MP3 or any other format?"

I use an old version of Goldwave and an old wersion of Audible Manager to do the conversion. As soon as I download the files, I do the conversions. Takes less than half an hour per book. Use 'supported files' to get the .aa files to show up. Do a search on the internet to get instructions.

I did have to install NET2 framework during installation, so maybe MS stole them?

I want to thank everyone here. When I started downloading this and it told me that it hadn't gotten the seal of approval for XP, on my own I would have cancelled the installation. OR, I might have gotten brave enough to keep going...... until I got the message that my microsoft.net or something like that needed to be upgraded, at which time, I would have been convinced I was getting a virus and would have cancelled the installation for sure. But since nobody here is commenting on either of these things, I was comfortable - well... fairly sure... that this was OK to download.

It looks great, and worked on the one file I tried.

I have never had a problem with the installation of any GOTD program so I don't say this lightly - but this one crashed my XP twice to the point thsat even Task Manager would not start - I had to unplug my computer in order to reboot.

It twice got to the point where Microsoft gives you a warning about destabilizing your system and then, er, destabilized my system. On the third attempt, I downloaded to a flash drive and the warning did not come up and installation was smooth. But for the first 2 goes I had to switch off the pc without shutting down and go through the Chkdisk scenario to get problems fixed.

Opening the program from the flash drive it was very easy to register with the name of Giveawayoftheday and registration code, interface is easy to use with a drag and drop facility (what could be simpler?!) and conversions are rapid and smooth.

Don't wait to register it, do it immediately as otherwise any song that you convert will come complete with a voice saying "you are using a trial" in it........

A great program when installed but the Microsoft warning, for which I was prepared, and subsequent bad system crashes, for which I was not, were alarming and problematic as I lost work having to unplug my pc.

#46 - from the support forum - We have determined that MuvAudio v1.x or v2.x cannot support .aa files at this time due to .aa files being played in an embedded wmp control throwing an unspecified error. If it does become possible, we will let you know.

Thank you,

I have a Sony photo camera that allows me to record up to 40 seconds voice recordings to every picture. The result is an mpg-file, but it seems not quite conform the standards. A few weeks ago, I took 100-plus photo's with the voice of the guide while walking trough a garden. I would like to concatenate all the mpg's into a single file that shows all the pictures and lets me listen to the corresponding voice recording. Todays application generates an mpg with all the sounds concatenated, but IrfanView only shows the first picture. So I will have to wait for another application.

Or does anyone have a tip other than doing the concatenation by hand via PowerPoint?
