I downloaded todays giveaway . I had no problems with it, It worked as stated. I am using a hp computer, win 10, with 16 gigs of ram. Latest build of win 10. I have 2 web usb cams connected, one is a Logitech hd pro high definition cam,
the other is a lower resolution Logitech usb web cam. It is a little grainy, but pretty good. I am well pleased with the program. It was no problem getting it to add the two cameras, I will add another later. Thanks for this nice software

downloaded and opened the rar file, hit setup, and it did nothing but ask if i wanted to install software informer. and says sucsessfully activated but nothing was installed.

grvdggr864, probably you need to disarm your Windows: disable the anti-virus and firewall.
There are 2 protections today: GOTD's Themida and a program called GetServerDate.
Direct after installation activate firewall and anti-virus.

had to "uninstall" avg completely to get it to install, but seems to work ok with an old old logitech c210 webcam.

Even after following included instructions,
"If you immediately get a "Successfully activated" message and the installation does not start, you may need to disable
your AV protection temporarily, or mark the installation file as an exception for your anti-virus suite."
..disabling my antivirus (Windows Defender), and adding exceptions for the installation exe and the .gcd file I still keep getting the pop up message box "! Error while communicating with the server. Installer will now abort."

Brad Griffin, temporarily disable your firewall!

M. H., Thanks for that but unfortunately same result, it didn't work. I disabled public and private network firewalls.

Brad Griffin,
I use Safe Mode which is a hassle but works.

Brad Griffin,
Loaded up Shadow Defender and ran the gcd setup exe in Shadow Mode. No problems and the program showed it was licenced to GOD. Traced it while loading with Soft Organizer, and only security instance was that Zemana had it traced with it's kernel guard. Seems to work as intended with my laptop web cam, though I do not have other cameras for it to connect to, as I have no real need to use this software. Reason I am replying to you is that the second time I loaded up this program Zemana flagged it, and killed the exe before it would work. I just needed to restore the exe from Zemana quarantine, and it worked fine. Do you have any other security programs running, aside from what you mentioned?
My antivirus is Bitdefender Free (no need to disable), and I never had an instance of it stopping any GOD install, only Zemana (premium edition, from a giveaway) on occasion will flag one. Btw, I never install the software informer, as I don't need more garbage on my system and browsers. The Win 10 Firewall paired with Bitdefender, has no problems with most (99.99%)of the GOD gcd install. Get rid of Defender and get yourself Bitdefender, as Win Defender is at the bottom of any list of a good antivirus. Don't even ask about AVG free, that is another program that installs too much shit, and runs up resources, and will kill most GOD install.
Now that Defender with the Firewall flagged your install, you need to go into their logs (both programs) and kill anything negative to do with this Camera program and then white list it. Hope that helps.
Closed Shadow Mode, and nothing showing that I loaded another program, back to normal. ;)

TK, I tried disabling my firewall but still got the same result. It says here you posted this reply 18 hours ago, but I only just got a notification of it, well after the deadline for this free program. Thanks anyway, Cheers!

Monkey Snark,
No I don't have any other security programs. I don't think Defender or the firewall flagged it as I can't find any reference to it or any actions taken. I disabled Defender, added exceptions, and disabled the firewall as well, but no luck, exactly the same (negative) result.
I never install software informer either, for the same reason, and I will definitely look into Bitdefender as you advised. Hard to find a good antivirus that doesn't come with too much unnecessary shit, that's why I stayed with Windows Defender as it seems to be very basic without the usual crap?

Brad Griffin,
In that case, do go to the "Bitdefender Free" website and give it a try, you will not be disappointed. Set it and forget it, and works constantly in the background. There is no unnecessary shit with this antivirus, though you will need to register with it, even though it is free. I registered for mine, six years ago.
As for my before mentioning logs, sorry, I was tired when I wrote that. I was meaning the rules in Windows Firewall (if any), as once there is a block set, the rule will be set up to stop the program from reaching outside the network.
Btw, if you see Shadow Defender in a giveaway, grab it. Great for running a program to see what it is doing, or how it works with your pc, etc. Once you finish checking things out, close it, reboot your pc, and you are back to the original state out of Shadow Mode. There are other programs that do the same thing, sand boxing, and some free, I just like this one.
Best of luck on your next GOD install.
Regards,
MS
PS maybe you will see this in 15 hours, not 18 ;)

Doesn't detect any cameras, crashes constantly - $59.95 I should get paid that for wasting my time. Much better freeware available.

The price is tagged rather high in my opinion - especially, when I never needed more than IP Camera Viewer, which is updated and freeware, off course.

Allan , the FREE version of IP Camera viewer is limited to (4) Four Cameras. Todays Giveaway is for unlimited cameras. A long time user of IP Camera Viewer, I agree it's amazing to use, but I use a paid version.

I've been looking for something like this for a while ... And I'm still looking. Installed on Win 10 without any problems and after that it just went down hill very quickly. When program was first run it crashed ... Not a good start. When run the second time it started but when I tried to connect to my IP camera it crashed again. Rebooted my PC and ran for the third time this time it ran and detected my camera but didn't show any images. Closed the program and tried again and noticed that the camera settings had not been saved and after re-entering the config settings for the IP camera again the program failed to detect the camera and after letting it attempt to search for the camera it crashed. $59.95 you gotta be kidding. Uninstalled.
