As a ux designer, I use Mockplus RP a lot. It is easy and fast to make prototypes for designers. Actually, you guys can use it for free, but you are not able to use some paid features. For instance, you cannot Export&Print, Publish to cloud & Sync with a free account.

I have used it for over 2 years. It is worth trying anyway.

Emma, thanks. I have installed! Looks great! Are there any tutorials for beginners?

Installed, read through it's principals and ideas but now uninstalled!
Sorry but this is getting a downvote. A 6 mth license for a collaboration software, then if you fail to pay the yearly subscription fee, my gut tells me it will stop functioning. So any work put forth within the 6 mths is all for nothing, unless we "pay up".

DJ, Stefos, Thank you for the info, I wont even bother to download. It reminds me of apple computer. Greediness kills.

It's a standard design software, however I think your pricing is far to expensive and I hate this subscription type of business. It is disgusting that I could pay so much for using a piece of software only to find out that after your first year you have to keep buying it. Whatever happened to being fair to the user they buy a piece of software and they get to keep and use the software and only update to a new version if you wish, this is nothing short than forced repurchasing of software. What you are indeed doing is pushing those people out who do not have the money to purchase your software for more than a year.

I will not recommended this software for the following reasons:

1) Your software is over priced, $199 for a design software is an absolute disgrace. There are a number of ways you can get the same results and better by using free software and paid for life software.

2) Many people are against this forced buying of updated software every year, again this has nothing to do with the customer and everything about getting the most money into your pockets with less customers.

3)Your business practices are pushing out those who do not have the funds to update their software every year.

Uninstalling

Anyone care to explain in clear language what MockPlus does? I've read the questions and answers found in a Google search and they all are essentially useless for explaining whatever it is that this software does. It builds mockups. I get that. Mockups for what purpose. Does it make drawings for a process? Does it create functional software to test a process step by step to learn if the process works similar to bot creation software?

Raymond, I had that same question. Then I figured if I had to ask, I didn't need it.

Raymond,

"Anyone care to explain in clear language what MockPlus does?"

Say you have a minimum of 2 people on a team creating an app -- one specializes in usability & design, while the other is a coding whiz. Rather than try and sketch out what the GUI should look like, and then try & explain how things work, the designer would create a mockup in Mockplus RP, which doesn't require the coding skills needed to actually create the GUI. Then the designer hands off the mockup to the coder, who creates the GUI so it looks and works like the mockup.

Another example might be someone designing web sites. They may need to show different working designs to a client, so the client can make a choice & OK further work. They don't want to give the client actual working code, because then the client can say no thanks, and keep the code for free.

Raymond, Watch the video and you're no wiser. I gave up at that stage.

mike,

Thank you for that. Your explanation gave me all I need to know to say this is something for which I have no use.

Raymond, I would say this is an application for software programers. You can create an user interface, that is, the screen one see's when loads an application on the PC ou celphone. So you put one button in here, another in there, one link over there and see how it appears for the user. Then you look at it and say - hummm maybe this button can be higher, so you move it's position to the new place. All the buttons, icons, links etc that you put in there don't do anything if you press on them. They are just a preview, a prototype. Once you like the way the screen is, THEN you have to program, or, code everything, so when the app is ready it does what you want. "Thousant" years ago, programers had to do this preview with paper and pencil, or, just imagine the user interface in their heads, code it and pray that everything was in place....

mike, so it's an APP protyping platform? why don't they just say that? I was hoping it was for prototyping *everything*, including real-world items like things to be 3D printed and then how to design the tooling to bring it to mass production injection moulding or carbon fiber molding and multi-platform coding like for ESP-32 as well as conventional Arduinos to control the devices.

Vincent Xia, This is not my understanding of what is annouced: since the questions are "will the version I installed" continue to work after 6 months (and not will this software continue its life!), the answer is, to my understanding: no. After 6 months, if you want to continue to use it, you will have to buy a license!

Reply   |   Comment by PaulF  –  15 days ago  –  Did you find this comment useful? yes | no (+34)

Vincent Xia, and why should I pay then if it remains working anyway?

Reply   |   Comment by M. H.  –  15 days ago  –  Did you find this comment useful? yes | no (+6)

Vincent Xia,
Thanks for your response. Can you please clarify what you mean? Will the software keep working after 6 months if no subscription fee is paid?

Reply   |   Comment by Jake  –  15 days ago  –  Did you find this comment useful? yes | no (0)

PaulF, don't worry. After 6 months you can continue to use the version you installed without buying a license.

Not clear. Will the software work after 6 months or just stop working? I appreciate no updates available after 6 months.

Vincent Xia, If we fail to purchase a license, it will still continue to work? I do not think so.

Vincent Xia, This is what the Read me file says:
Please note that the software you download and install
during the Giveaway period comes with the following important limitations:
Individual six-month subscription!!!

Tell me clearly what will happen if I do not pay for the subscription after that six months.
1. Will it still work using existing information (from Mockplus and my own project data)?
2. Can I use it to start new projects after that six months?
3. Do you work for Mockplus or Giveawayoftheday?
4. If the program doesn't work after six months, can we come back after you for all the assurances you gave here?
Thank you
Dr. OhGosh

Dr. OhGosh, don't worry. After 6 months you can continue to use the version you installed without buying a license, you can use existing information and start new projects.
