Considering that below the info for Backup Manager they have another program 'Transfer for Mobile', i don't think this software offers the ability to transfer data from one device to another.

MobiKin Backup Manager for Android allows you to selectively back up files on your Android device to PC, and then restore from your PC to your Android device. If you want to transfer data from one device to another, MobiKin Transfer for Mobile is a good choice.

Jeff, yes and no... only a subset of the data on the Android device can be backed up and therefore restored to a different Android phone. You will have to recreate app profiles and databases manually where possible.

So it supports "apps", but not "app data". What exactly does that mean? Also, what falls under "system data"? Would that be preferences, wallpaper, etc.?

I have a 1tb Samsung S24 Ultra with more than 6,000 photos, years of notes, emails & texts that contain data I often refer to. Smart Switch got me through a few upgrades without any issues, except WhatsApp and Signal. I needed the help of tech support at the phone store to successfully transfer data from those secure apps.
My phone is a few years old now, about 75% full and I'm thinking of an upgrade.
While I have copies of photos on portable drives.
Will your manager:
1) do a complete backup to an external 1tb drive
2) save the data from WhatsApp?

2) this program does not include and chat app functionality other than SMS conversations.

If you want to back up those file types to an external 1tb drive, it will be ok. And it does not support WhatsApp data backup.
