@all

Dear Users,

We checked all of the comments and we are so sorry for any inconvenience earlier.

We have to clarify about the "giveaway version". It is definitely a Professional version but we made some limits on it, like "It's not free to upgrade". It has all of the functions that a pro version should have.

About the boot version, We are sorry that all the giveaways we have on GOTD do not include a boot version.

We are so thankful that there are so many MiniTool Fans on GOTD and we will try our best to give our more in the near future.

Thanks again for your understanding and supporting.

Best Regards,
MiniTool

MIniTool Solution Ltd.,

" It has all of the functions that a pro version should have"

So if one spent $39 for the Pro version then you only get a 1 year license as well? In other words the full Pro version would expire just like the giveaway version?

Pro version has the function of being able to create a bootable version. The giveaway does not.

The giveaway is not the same as the Pro version.

Yet again, fooled and foiled again by the vendors; GOTD used to offer a lot of good utilities for "free"; those utilities were free, as "advertised". This service used to be a good dev resource area for developers, now I feel like its more a waste of my time and even considering unsubscribing to the email list. I would have been interested in MiniTool, but now I just think the FREE version is good enough and if I want a permanent solution I will wait for EaseUS next offering or write my own. The sleazy TOS conditions software vendors put upon users of their product is just not worth it anymore. There is always a different option so we are not beholden to MiniTool vendor, wait for a more accommodating product or write our own.

After uninstalling this Minitool fake app, I took JasonUK & Tester's advice & downloaded the free Standard version of AOMEI & now I've broken into my Happy Dance . . . Thanks GOTD, for allowing those posts from JasonUK & Tester!!!!

I tried the activation code 4 times with Administrator privileges & it still shows as "Giveaway Edition", not "Pro". LIARS! GOTD & Minitool should be ashamed of themselves!!!! Uninstalling, because having it on my desktop & in my face is an insult & makes me angry!

What gives? Am I missing something or is this really the "Pro" version as advertised here & I'm just not installing & activating it right? I loved & used the old version 9, which I lost in an HD crash. How is this supposed "Pro" offer with activation code any different than the "Giveaway Edition" offered on their site? This is a phony GOTD offer! I'm PO'd

without the boot-able emerg media creation you might as well play the lotto. this is a free riskware edition not the pro version stated
Uninstalled for the constant upgrade popup alone. remember when this site actually had FULL version software ?

Be warned - this is NOT the Pro version as it says. It installs a special Giveaway edition, not the Pro version. Several features are not available. Make sure you do not delete an older Pro edition to install this one.

Beware when uninstalling. Once, I got BSOD at boot up because of rogue drivers (2 files) left over. It was a pain to remove them from the registry. Deleting them wasn't enough and a piece of cake in comparison. I don't regret to not use this software anymore.

You need to change the giveaway name to "MIniTool Partition Wizard Crippled Giveaway Version 10.2.3" This is definitely not the pro version as described.

Despite the program being registered, yet still a nag screen about upgrading after running the program. Every. Single. Time. Aswell as spying and tracking on your usage after program start, without the option to disable or deny it. Every. Single. Time. So i had to use a firewall rule to stop that from happening.

And that on top of a already time-limited and crippled "Pro" edition for 1 year that isn't even Pro but a "Special Edition" for GOTD since it features all the Pro features like the real deal but then lacks Bootable Media option, which does makes it special but not positively special.

Here is a comparison table for all editions https://www.partitionwizard.com/comparison.html

Misleading. Not a pro version! It won't create bootable media, and prompts you to upgrade for the full price.
Unfortunately, it uninstalled my licensed older version before installation.

I rushed to download this Pro version and install it but put on the brakes when I saw the restrictions:
1) 1 year license whereas regular version has no expiration of the license when purchased. It does not cease functioning after a year.
2) No bootable media creation

Reply   |   Comment by Disappointed  –  6 years ago  –  Did you find this comment useful? yes | no (+32)

I noticed that the verbiage says

"The program is available for $39.00,
but it will be free for our visitors
as a time-limited offer."

Sorry but the giveaway is a crippled:

1) no support
2) no free 1yr of upgrades
3) license expires after 1 year aka program ceases working

The giveaway version IS NOT the $39 version of the program !

Hope MINITOOL personnel are reading these comments. If so, I would like to see their response. For example, "Without bootable function, tool is useless". What is your response?

Disappointed, MiniTool should focus on new features and live partition copy with OS and boot disk for backups.
Make a product that the competition can not imitate easy. We thank you for the free versions over the years given to the public, but technology changes fast and giving away time limited and cripple versions is downgrading your reputation.

Mike3,

"MiniTool should focus on new features and live partition copy with OS and boot disk for backups."

Looks like they already did, but instead of adding it to their Partition Wizard app, they created a new one, ShadowMaker.

I'll pass for all the reasons stated in the comments so far.

I like the free version and used it for years but it has limitations that others do not.
The upgraded Pro version from the last giveaway was lost when the hard drive crashed and all that was available from MiniTool was the free one.
This so-called Pro offering is not worth either the hassle or the limited duration of the license.
MiniTool's motivation for today's offer can only be an anticipated upsell when the 1 year license expires.
No thanks.

The way I see it, this offer is just a "GLORIFIED" free edition with all those restrictions still showing even after registration with the provided code-
This is very Disappointing!!

today angry whit this offer from GOTD and mini tool
1- when you copy the code from Readme file in the last part of the code you see the (GOTD)
do not copy this and space before to code work
maybe the developer add this to code for today deal but forgot to delete this
2- after run setup ( no wrapper ) and install the software and after the run it
you see a message you are the trial version of software whit this limit functions :
1- no technical support service
2- no free upgrading service
3- no commercial usage
4- no bootable media builder
5- no supporting windows server
after register software, you see a message you are using giveaway version of software whit this limit functions :
1- no technical support service
2- no free upgrading service
3- no commercial usage
4- no bootable media builder
5- no supporting windows server
one question from the developer why offer the software in GOTD?
I feel insulted by my intelligence
I urge you to immediately subscribe to all users

The former PROFESSIONAL VERSION 9 was still there and not uninstalles in spite of so was said during today's installation that installed in parallell as a GOTO version without professional in it even while there was no GOTO at the end of the key even from start.

alireza, My sentiments exactly... too little extra & only a year licence to bother installing over free copy. With both EaseUS & AOMEI having given full lifetime giveaway editions in recent weeks MiniTools' giveaway, whilst welcome, doesn't really pass muster :)

"With both EaseUS & AOMEI having given full lifetime giveaway editions in recent weeks MiniTools' giveaway, whilst welcome, doesn't really pass muster :)"

I've had copies of EaseUS software deactivate, as well as had giveaway keys not work or never sent/issued, so I wouldn't use them as comparison personally.

"I've been using AOMEI for years... One of it's biggest pluses is the ability to great a boot disk..."

If you want/need the bootable media that AOMEI software creates, do test it on your hardware before you actually need it. It will not boot some of our Windows devices.

That said, you can download the software free from Microsoft to create WinPE media, & can often add or run software, depending on the software. You can also create a Windows To Go drive from win10 or using the built-in AOMEI tool, installing whatever software you want on it -- I use the Insider Preview ISO of win10 Ent & run it unactivated.
