Last night, I was essentially left with a brick.
After downloading and installing iOS 9.3, my phone would not validate, leaving me with a non working device for several hours.
I eventually got it working many attempts (around 15?) later. But during a failure like that, a program like this would be invaluable.

I installed the latest iTunes, and this download from giveawayoftheday, registered it no problem with the key provided in the readme, and proceeded to do a scan.
It scanned my phone and iTunes backup - I don't have the icloud installed as it has messed with my MSOffice in the past, but it apparently scan's anyback up from that too if you have it installed.

I installed todays giveaway as admin on my Windows 10 64 system, I encountered no problems in the install or operation of this program, so I'm quite bemused by the other comments here of people having issue's with Windows 10.

The program found 100's of pictures, app data folders, video amongst other things. I'm really quite surprised at how much it found considering I did the update last night, I thought it would have overwritten itself. But no. Pictures and videos ect, from the day I purchased it where even found.

I'm going to say this is a fantastic program, and will be keeping in the eventuality of a serious malfunction like last night. At least that way I can recover what I had, unlike iTunes, which would knowing it probably have tried syncing it and wiped everything.

Highly recommended. They are giving it away on their site too, so I'm not sure, but perhaps you could get your own individual key from them and just use their installer, and hopefully be able to upgrade.

Kind regards all
Richard

Although this proggy may or may not do exactly what is promised, I feel it would have been better suited to be available on the iPhone GOTD site rather than here on the general site. I own exactly zero iOS devices, which means this giveaway is worthless to me.

I thought that I might mention that Mini Tool Mobile Recovery for iOS recovers lost files from three locations:

"Recover from iOS Device", "Recover from iTunes Backup File" and "Recover from iCloud Backup File"

Program installed easily on a Windows 7 Pro machine and activated with equal aplomb.

The program stepped me through connecting my iPhone, scanned approximately 15 GB in well under five minutes and listed a number of deleted files by file type. I had the program recover lost contacts which it did in moments and displayed the results in both CSV and HTML formats on my Windows machine.

When I have a bit more time later today I will search for the best way to transfer the recovered information to the iPhone.

Thanks GOTD for this, BUT a few weeks ago, I had the dreaded "ipod is disabled for 22000000 minutes..." warning.
I managed to RESET it, but all photos and videos are gone.
I used this minitool program to try and recover from Device, i-Tunes, and i--Cloud, but could not recover any photos or videos.
Can Minitool or anyone suggest what could be done?
Thank you!

drvajra, Apple got burned a few years back because someone found data after a reset. Apple then moved to a system that overwrites the entire memory with '1's before reinstalling IOS.

I thought the FBI would have been thanking GAOTD for today's offering, given the problems they are having with just one iPhone. Their comments could put this giveaway "over the top"!

dMf,
There is also another difficulty: some people of Apple won't work on such software:
